Everything I've said before still holds true, but I have to highlight the incredible fresh turkey and sausage stuffing I purchased from them for Thanksgiving this year. Both were absolutely amazing and well worth the slight premium over a frozen Butterball. Here's the thing: the reason people don't like turkey is that it's dry, and the reason it's dry is because it's been frozen. We go here all the time and since my last review I wanted to update it and say that I still love this place! It is right down the road from me, so I get all my meat and sides from them all the time. They are consistently great and worth the money. I don't mind spending a little extra for high quality products, which they always have at this butcher. You can also order specialty items and they will try to accommodate everything you need. The staff is awesome. They are extremely attentive, patient and just so nice. This place gets busy, especially during the holidays, but they are able to not only handle the volume of customers, they make sure everyone is welcomed as soon as they come in, and treat everyone as if they are the only person in the place. I think this is why people don't mind waiting when it is super busy. Customers know the staff works really hard, and that they are going to get the freshest, most high quality food when it's their turn at the counter. My Butcher also has a lot of other items to look at while you're waiting and I usually end up leaving with way more than I went there for, but it's okay because everything is delicious! I can't say enough about this place and how wonderful it is. I am happy we have such a great local business that is this amazing. Real Deal Butcher, this is one of the best butchers on Long Island. Super clean store, great presentation of meats, amazing selection of meats, items you can't find in most store like Snake River Farms Wagyu Franks, in a class by themselves, the Franks and this Butcher store. Biggest selection of chicken burgers, broccoli and cheese, spinach and feta just to name a few and taste amazing. Homemade hot and sweet sausages, loin lamb chops, filet Mignon, Shells, Strips, and Porterhouse all prime cuts, couldn't wait to start grilling once I left. Homemade empanadas, pulled pork and bbq chicken are also amazing, what a great flaky crust. Great friendly customer service.... Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend read more

This has to be the worst sub I've ever had in my entire life. I walked in and asked the older woman behind the counter if she could make me a sub. I asked for a prosciutto, turkey, mozz, roasted red pepper sub with a little oil and vinegar on a full semolina sub. As you can see by the picture, the amount of prosciutto used is comical, and also being italian i know my prosciutto and she used proscuittini, a ham hybrid which tastes like crud! Also, where in the lords sweet name is the mozzarella?..... inexcusable! And lastly you can see the bread to 'meat' ratio, laughable! As a guy who takes his deli's seriously, this one gets the award of avoid at all cost! read more

Good quality meat, not cheap but prices are reasonable! Some stuff members should get some customer service training such as smile and not argue with customers. Made a $200 purchase and nicely asked to break a $5 bill to tip a butcher but got yelled at by a young woman first and then the older woman telling me they don't have enough singles as it is!! read more

I really wanted to like this place and support a local store. The deli cheese I got; was cut with multiple pieces of plastic in it ! The lady packaging my order either didn't notice it or didn't care. I have never had that happened any where else. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

My wife happen to be driving by and stopped in because we needed something for dinner. I have to say this place is Great. Friendly staff, Great Selection, they wrap the food and label it with what it is and the date, so it stays fresh. Also if you have a question as to how to cook it, they will advise you and also write it on the package. It was a Great Place to just happened to walk into. Mind you I drive out of my way for the Meat and the service. I would definitely recommend them to everyone I know. read more

It is a very nice butcher shop and deli. I ordered a roast beef hero and boy it was tasty! This place has some of the best roast beef that I have eaten in a very long time. This butcher shop was where I shopped for about 2 years. There quality was really up there. Over this period, I watched this business slowly go down in quality. The meat in the showcase used to look fresh and inviting. The last few months, I was shocked about what they displayed. There were times I couldn't make a purchase due to what I saw. If you request a special order, you can't be sure they didn't "forget" to call it in to their distributor. I no longer shop there. read more

This was my first experience using this butcher; I did so on a recommendation from one of their workers, Chris. I have to say, I was seriously impressed. We decided to get all the meat for my sons' graduation barbeque from this butcher. Two days later I'm still hearing about how great the steak burgers wrapped in bacon were! (Yum!!!) Besides those, the chicken sausage with fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and basil was my favorite. All together, everything we got from them was delicious. For Christmas we ordered a chateaubriand with a salt, pepper, garlic rub. I have never cooked one before and was nervous spending $170 on something I never cooked. On the phone AND in the shop the guys told me to let it sit out for 2 hours to get to room temperature and then cook it for 30 minutes for rare and 34 minutes for well done. Directions like that are so specific, I figured they knew what they were doing. And the meat in the tin they gave it to me in had rosemary twigs and some other leafy herb, so I didn't question the meat rub. On Christmas, I followed their directions, prepared all my other side dishes to be ready for when the chateaubriand would come out of the oven. Well, we took it out after 32 minutes and it was raw. We ended up cooking it for 55 minutes, dinner was late, guests needed to leave to get to other houses, dessert guests were arriving during dinner, and my side dishes were all cold. ANd to top it off there was NO flavoring on the meat at all. NO salt, no pepper, no garlic. NOTHING. I have since tested my oven with a thermometer and it is fine. Cakes, breads, cookies, chicken, other meats come out fine according to their directions. We called My Butcher II a few days after Christmas and all that was said was "We're sorry for your inconvenience." There was no remorse, nothing. It was very insulting. The only reason I did give two stars instead of one is that the meat was extremely tender if you're into very rare beef or tartare. I was excited about finding a good butcher - this was not it. read more

YUMMY! All of your senses are illuminated when you walk into this clean, delicious smelling shop with a huge selection of fresh everything!! My first time in, there was a man cutting up local vegetables right behind the deli glass, where you can see how everything is pristine clean and he had a huge smile as he diced away. He had a nice clean, white outfit without one stain...in a meat market! I loved that. There was someone waiting to help you behind each section with a smile and real guidance because the selection is a bit overwhelming. The chicken burgers with spinach & feta cheese were amazing. I have been going to this butcher for many years. I was nervous when they got new owners, but thank goodness I was pleasantly surprised. This is a real butcher. You can go in and tell them you are having 15 ppl over for dinner and they know exactly how much food you will need, how to cook a standing rib roast (they even write directions for me on the butcher paper). I had a barbecue yesterday and the salads are so fresh and delicious I had trouble convincing my guests they were NOT homemade. Macaroni with tuna salad and red potato salad are my favorites. They have turkey and veggie burgers, chicken kabobs, all kinds of hamburgers and the best pies for Thanksgiving (but you need to put your order in way ahead of time, especially if you want the caramel, walnut apple pie!) They are friendly and helpful and you feel like you know them. I love that place. Oh, and the always have homemade hot soup and a deli counter with terrific sandwiches.
