This is a generational family business. We have been buying our chickens, eggs, duck, turkeys, etc. from them for years. The food is so fresh and they treat you like you are a member of the family. But so happy I came across this place as I had more time due to this pandemic to drive around picturesque long island and find some hidden gems all throughout! And find a hidden gem I did! This spot has been family owned and run currently run by a father /son /cousin trio of the family. You want exotic meats? They definitely got it... Alligator, Emu, ostrich (but sadly not their eggs), rattlesnake, kangaroo, Bison, venison, wild duck, Capon, wild turkey just to name a handful! Plus they have frozen turkey and chicken feet, turkey neck, chicken backs for all your bone broth/stock needs. And sell tubs of duck fat for a great price too!! Ooh and don't pass up on the hot and made to go rotisserie chicken & duck and BBQ ribs! So freaking delicious and priced right plus no hassle prep of cooking either so total win! Returned to try again Thursday...Met Arthur the Prop and was impressed by the collection of game meats they had available. Firstly they are closed Tuesday and open to around 4 other days...call first! We got various items like Turkey Thigh, Duck Breasts, Gator Sausage et. al. All fresh.... Arthur said he would Broast a Duck if called a few hours before pick up and they also had chickens in the rotisserie...Mmmm looked good! They had Duck eggs at $1.50 a pop, they were large, like 2x the size of a Jumbo Chicken egg. Cant wait to return to try some more of their exotic game. read more

Ah, my secret is out. If your not squemish over fresh killed farm animals, you should shop at Miloski's Poultry Farm. It's freshly killed, straight off the farm meats. If your idea of organic is buying meats at Whole Foods, you gotta get a grip. Back in the day, my grandfather would shop at a local fruit guy, seafood guy and a meat guy. I swear, roast beef dinners seemed huge as a kid when we would eat on Sunday. All these items weren't purchased at Stop and Shop, they were purchased by a local sourced farm person. Enter Miloski's Poultry Farm. These folks have some kra-zay meats, like camel?! Nah, I'll take a pass on that one. What prompted me to make trips out here was our local Chinese food restaurant. My family likes mu shu duck. Its chinese pancakes, hoisin sauce, scallions and you put it all together. They deep fry a duck and charge huge fee. Wait a second. I know roasting a duck or chicken is the easiest thing in the world. My dad owned a supermarket when I was a kid, guess who emptied the chicken fat bin?? Yours truly My son is coming home from college, I ask him what are you craving? "My" mu shu duck. This weekend I returned to find a nostalgic bliss that I haven't found in years.. Miloski's fresh kill roasted duck "to go." How it works: Call in the morning, or day before, and order your fresh roast duck. 2-3 hours later (or perhaps more.. plan ahead!) you park in their quaint gravel parking lot and pick up your lunch/dinner. While there grab some fresh smoked kielbasa... or homemade potato salad with specks of crunchy celery, powdered in paprika! They have fresh eggs... turkey soup.. pot pie.. and, of course, an array of fresh poultry for sale. For the holidays be sure to reserve your bird well in advance! Back to our roast duck... Now travel out about 20-30 minutes to one of the many lovely North Fork vineyards.. Shinn Estates and Martha Clara both have lovely picnic areas. What Happened to the Delicious Chicken Pot pies ?? I have been buying the chicken pot pies for years also got a few friends to buy them also because they Were so good. But around a year ago I bought them and it was very watery No taste , Not the same ,so i go back there and spoke to a worker and He told me Nothing has changed , i said can't be i buy these all the time something is different , I tried again along with 2 of my friends and the same thing Full of water and no taste . So I stopped buying them for over a year, so i went last week and Gave it another try , Well Worse Than ever !!! From a vegetarian looking at this establishment with a sense of awe and oh this is interesting perspective ... Lol.. it is quite interesting. The shop itself is quite small. They sell grass-fed beef, and the ducks and chickens are born, raised and bred in Long Island. Turkeys for Thanksgiving come from Pennsylvania, but spend half the year here. The shop's more exotic cuts or meats like buffalo and elk come from Wyoming. I'm not sure if wild boar, camel, and/or ostrich come from west too..? Not sure where the kangaroos and alligators come from. They also have other birds like squab, which I learned is in the pigeon family, pheasant, and three kinds of chickens (capons, roosters and ??-the most common one.. my mind is drawing a blank). In addition to meat products, they also sell eggs- regular, jumbo and double yoke! The two guys behind the counter are really friendly. The place has been in business since 1941 or 1946. My daughter and I drove about 1 hour for the 1st time and boy we were pleased!! It was worth the drive! We bought a duck eggs(1st time), fresh killed turkey legs and thighs, some elk and kangaroo jerky, duck burgers and a capon. My wife cooked the capon and the taste was amazing!! We bought our Thanksgiving turkey from Miloski's this year and it was by far the best bird I've made. I did none of my usual preparations; no brining, no dry rub, no leaving uncovered overnight...I just slathered that thing in herbed compound butter and put it in the oven. It was absolutely perfect. This is Calverton far as I know, which does reside in Suffolk County but NOT in New Suffolk. The friendly fella running the joint closes up shop around five and has some relatively exotic' items on offer', especially for the area. Turtle was tempting but went with a dozen double-yolks for $4.25 - a satisfying breakfast for sure. Easy to deduct a star since I've only been once, but gotta shell out the 5 in hopes that they keep on keepin' on. read more

Every year I drive an hour to Miloski's for my Thanksgiving turkey. It was introduced to me years ago and has since become a tradition. Their turkeys are the best that I have ever had and I just feel better about serving a farm fresh bird to my loved ones than a steroid infused butter basted turkey that forces us all to sleep 10 minutes after eating. I just want to start out by saying I love this place. I came here today with my family as we were taking a little road trip. The staff is amazing. My nephew love the beef jerkey. He tried alligator,kangaroo and venison. At 9 years old I didn't think he would enjoy it but he sure did. I bought kangaroo and camel meat I'm going to coom it up tomorrow. This place is a secret which I hope doesn't get out. It's a poultry farm but my wife and I have been coming here for their roast duck for years. It's simply the best roast duck ever, hands down. I"ve shopped her for decades because of quality and choice but today I was cheated and lied to. I bought a fresh duck, whole chicken and cut up chickens, plus other stuff. As the owner's son and co owner picked out the duck and whole chicken, I asked if they had all the innards (liver, heart, gizzard). He appeared to check them and said yes they had them. NOT TRUE. I got home and the duck had NOTHING inside, no liver or anything else. The whole chicken had its liver but no heart and gizzard. The cut up chickens had liver but nothing else. I phoned and he said he "thought' he had checked. I said: well either you did or you didn't but you TOLD ME all the innards were in the duck and chicken. So obviously you didnt look carefully....or you didnt look at all....or you LIED. His excuses were feeble and he didnt even really apologize or offer a credit.My advice is that you check very carefully when you shop here. I now wonder if they could even have overcharged me. Once something like this happens, all trust is gone. I am really angry about this. It is very cheezy and manipulative. I dont like being taken advantage of much less lied to. read more
