Moving is not fun, anyway you look at it, it's exhausting. Having a reliable moving company makes it so much easier and I am so grateful that I picked the perfect company, because my move was totally stress free. What I thought would take two weekends, took less than three hours, and I was happy that I could finially relax. And even take a nap and go out for a quick local dinner. I was so relaxed at the end of the day, I didn't even feel like I moved. All because I had an awesome company that did everything for me. I always try to support local family businesses and King Moving and Storage is exactly that. Chip and his daughter Alison are true professionals. They did my walk through a few weeks ago and gave me a fair price in writing. No negotiating, no b.s., just a father and daughter running their family business and making moving easier for their clients, and I admit that I am one of them. True to his word, Chip and his three helpers showed up not just on time but a few minutes early. All three of his helpers were helpful, professional and genuinely nice guys. If you know me then you know how OCD I get about certain things if not everything. Well, let's just say that my area rug is perfectly centered in front of my sectional couch. Really, it's exactly where it needs to be and they moved it an inch here or there until I was completely satisfied. Chip did not ask for a deposit at the time of the walk through and just explained that I can pay him at the end of the move with a check or cash because they do not accept credit cards. Before I knew it, my move was complete, I paid Chip, tipped all the helpers and I was able to sit on my perfectly centered couch and smile. I will definitely be using them for any future moves and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a reputable moving company, and using a local family owned business is always best, this is my opinion anyway. On a side note, I am always saying Yelp is all about the friendships I have made along the way. Well in true Yelp fashion, my very first piece of mail was a thank you card from dear friends and my very first gift I ever received in my new place was an insanely generous gift from another dear friend, dear friends who wouldn't be in my life if it wasn't for Yelp. In March we spoke to Alan at King Moving who gave us an estimate of 4,500 for a large move within Westlake. He sent Harvey Hunter to look our house who upped the estimate by 1,200. The estimate was to include three days of storage. It turned out King Moving did not really exist. The movers showed up with rental trucks and Charged me extra to pack a 65 inch Oled tv. Three trucks were rented. In the ended the tv was ruined, an antique chair was missing parts and the bill increased to 6,500. When I asked for compensation for the tv Harvey Hunter said he did not have any money since he had to pay Alan 20 percent for the job referral. Harvey then said that Alan had shut down King and was paid for suckers like me who called for estimates. This is an awful scam. read more

I used this company to move my retail store and also my home. The guys were nice and good in general but did not plug in my big reclining sofa. I called the company to ask if they could do when they moved my business 2 days later. I explained to them I looked under the sofa with a flashlight and it was nowhere to be seen and at 66 yrs old could not lift the sofa or turn it over to look further. They said they would see but when the day came they said they could not go to my house 6 miles away to help me. I had to pay a handyman to turn the sofa and it was taped way up inside the sofa. Strike 1 Strike 2 their Living Social ad says extra charge for over 50 miles. I was 45 miles so no problem, right? Not! they gave me the bill with a 15% surcharge on the entire move because the manager said "Oh the 50 miles is round trip". I told them it didn't say roundtrip and it was misleading. He changed the ad wording for a few weeks and then removed the "roundtrip" again. Sneaky... Strike 3 Couple weeks later I went to start organizing my office and found they had not put my L shape desk back together as it was and had jammed one of the drawers so I can't get it in or out. Another handyman expense. I know I should of checked everything better before they left (it was a long 7 hour day)but the guys were very nice and I took them at their word that everything was back together as it had been when leaving the old place. So don't trust them. Strike 4 When finishing up the bill was for 45 more minutes than they worked. We went back and forth about the difference and they said they only do it by the hour. (No mention of that before) So when I moved my business I wanted to make sure to be aware. Sure enough towards the end I saw them starting to go slower so it was 10 minutes past the hour mark. I then asked them to unpack (remove film/packing from furniture to use some of the time left. They told me they don't do that to which I said then only charge me for a quarter hour. Nope. Be careful using these movers, they are smoke and mirrors when it comes to their policies and practices. Don't trust them. The moving guys were nice but that is only half the job. P.S. I agree with David's review, at the last minute they called to change my move a day ahead giving me one hour for doing it.....like said before they left the first time 15 minutes into the "free" hour. ;-( read more

This company backed out on me a week before my scheduled move! A week before the move I called the owner, Chip King, to confirm and to ask about the cost of additional time that I knew I would need to have the movers retrieve my items from pod storage then place inside of my home. He told me he couldn't do it and I was not on the schedule. I was shocked because: 1. This company moved my items into a pod last month and we already discussed when i hired him and the day of the first move that I would need them to move the pod items into my new home after about a month. He told me no problem, just let him know the date. 2. I still have the text messages with him confirming my second move. 3. His tone was cold and dismissive. When I politely asked him if he had any ideas on how or when we could get the move done (me trying to be flexible), he told me to find another mover. Completely unprofessional! We were on good terms after the first move (IMO), we had a friendly conversation when it was done, and I even left a nice tip. So I'm not sure what happened but, unfortunately, this company isn't as reliable as I hoped. read more

King packed my entire condo, kept everything in storage for a few days while I arranged the closing on my new apartment and moved me into it five days later. So the truck was loaded, unloaded into storage, loaded again and unloaded when he moved me in. The owner, Alan Seidenberg, was great - so great that he didn't charge me for the the extra unloading and loading. Carmen the packer was amazing. Both moving crews were incredible. I had the same crew supervisor each time and he was a take charge guy who was very considerate, funny and accommodating. He personally moved 90% of my goods into the apartment from where the other three men left them in the hallway. Best move I have ever had. read more

Then the day of moving they had to move the move to the next day, and never called me back to confirm the move after numerous phone calls. I had to go with another mover last minute who were amazing! Straight up - these guys are the most honest and hardworking crew I have hired in a long time. The owner (who was on site during our entire move) voiced his admiration of his crew a number of times. It's nice to see a team get along and work hard together, and be appreciated for it. I'll make this short and not so sweet. Moving can be such a stressful time and finding a reliable mover can be difficult. I recommend you contact King Moving and Storage in Coral Springs if you want your stress level to skyrocket. Signed an agreement two weeks before my move and stressed the importance of a timely pick up. I confirmed the date and time two days before the move and once again stressed the importance of a timely pick up. ONE day before the move Kings cancelled with some lame excuse. (They probably booked another move at the same time) Offered no solution but did state, "You're lucky I didn't cancel the day of your move." Thank you so much for not screwing me even more. I contacted Cousins Moving with very short notice and they arrived on time and did an outstanding job!! We used them because of a recommendation from a family friend that has used them multiple times. The owner was very nice and gave us a good rate to move some furniture from one place to the other. He stated he and his crew will be there at 9am sharp on the day of the move which previous experiences with other companies I was skeptical about them being on time. But on the day of the move not only were they there on time they were about 10 minutes early. My wife was at the place that the items were being picked up at and said that they we very polite and pointed out all the furniture that had damage to it before taking it . It has taken me a long time to write this. I don't like doing this but........ I used this company for my move from Margate to Melbourne area in July 2016. First, the price was $1400 less than quotes from other movers. That was a RED FLAG I ignored. I moved in July 2016. When they arrived I was in the garage sitting on a step stool packing the last bin with garage items. They took the bin from me & took it to the truck. (Last time I ever saw that bin & step stool - it had $250-300 worth of goods.) I called Chip 2 days later & he said I probably left it at old house. I called new owner & NO, as I thought, NOTHING had been left behind. I had a Vespa scooter that didn't have a scratch on it - NOT NOW. There are scratches and gouged metal. I have antique Ethan Allen furniture and anything that had a flat surface - side tables, dining table & server had been scratched and stippled like someone took an ice pick to them. It would cost a fortune to have refinished. Called Chip again, he said truck was empty the day after move. I asked if he saw the bike?. He said, "What bike?" The one I gave to one of your workers. Then I knew he NEVER saw the truck when it was brought back and his workers got everything they wanted with or without his knowing. I don't believe the positive reviews on here...whoever quoted in 2013 is CORRECT that the owner is very short tempered...go elsewhere don't use them. Chip came with 4 men and did an amazing job moving me out of my 2 floor apartment in such a quick time. They really knew how to move my items. Mr. King is the most straightforward person I've ever dealt with in the moving industry-- he told me the move would start at 8:15am rain or shine, and sure enough the movers were there at 8:15 on the dot. we just moved from boca raton to delray beach using this company. Chip, the owner, seemed very professional when doing the estimate so we hired them, the price seemed good as well. He made a lot of promises to protect the furniture and fragile items but it became apparent that wasn't the way they actually did things. On the moving day, I was informed that shrink wrapping some bedroom pieces was an "extra charge" and taking apart some home office items was also "extra work", despite the fact that there was no safe way to move those items which led to a complete irreparable damage to my desk, it just simply fell apart with rough handling. Later, we also discovered that a custom made glass top for the dinning room table was cracked, it was not wrapped carefully during the move, as any professional movers would have done. The large living room couch had to have its legs cut off because they could not figure out how to get it in the door, now it is absolutely useless ($1500 piece). Overall, I got the impression that the guys just "wanted to get it done quickly" and not at all concerned about damaging my belongings. I would not recommend this moving company, unless you discuss the fine print with them and how they would compensate you for the damage they cause. Chip did agree to compensate us for the desk $200, which actually would cost about 1K to replace. I thought the price was reasonable until you consider how much damage they caused. read more
