Classic Bait-and-Switch Tactics -- Stay Far Away This place operates with zero accountability--from ownership all the way down. No explanation. No urgency. Just total disregard for our time. Then, without even finalizing the deal, they took the plates off my trade-in and drove it away. That's when the real shady part started. They slid over the lease paperwork, and the mileage allowance was 1,000 miles less per year than what we had agreed on. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I pointed it out, I was told, "Just sign it. The Sales Manager isn't here, but we'll fix it on Monday."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Guess what? [[HIGHLIGHT]]Monday came and went. I had a wonderful experience yesterday and today at King O'Rourke Cadillac. I have been searching for the past 3 to 4 weeks for a pre owned car. Since I am the type of person who has to exhaust every option that is out there, I spent time searching for cars and going to see cars of all different types. This is how I find out what I really want. (Sedan, SUV or truck?) I like them all but was terribly undecided. I always liked the GMAC Acadia so I decided to stop at K.O'rourke Due to covid, I had no appointment, just showed up. I had to call to make an appt, which was not a big deal, and was allowed to come right in, through the service entrance. My salesman Ben Signorelli was just amazing to work with. He gave me all the time I needed to look at a car I was interested. I came in to see a 17 Acadia. Once I was looking at this car, he suggested I take a look at the Buick Enclave. Now my head started to spin, my ADD kicked in and this cost me a few hours of back and forth trying to decide which way to go. Ben was amazing, he gave me all the space and time to drive the cars. Put them side by side, compare and contrast. Oh man, this wasn't easy. I decided to go with the Buick. It just seemed to ride more smooth and quiet. They were both great, it was tough. Ben literally let me spend about 3 hours going through each vehicle. The best thing also, the deal was great, gave me the same deal for either one and there are NO hidden fees. There always seems to be an issue with almost any repair I have had there. That being said, they have always resolved the issue, until now. When I had rear brakes replaced, there was a tiny squealing sound. I brought it back and they had to replace the brakes again. When I had a headlight bulb replaced, it looked much dimmer than the other (still original) bulb. Had to bring it back to be properly installed. This time I did a 4 tire change, and they scratched/damaged all 4 rims, and they were out of balance. They resurfaced the rims, but did not balance them. I had to go back again and wait 2 hours for them to balance them again. It still wasn't correct. They also moved the wheels around, and did not do a TMPS relearn. This will all have to be properly addressed by another shop. Oh, and Oil changed / tire rotations are now $189, where other GMC dealers 20 minutes away are $89. (confirmed 8/28/24) read more

Worst Service Department This is my third lease, and I've always had my car serviced (oil change, inspection) locally because the dealer is not close to my home. I had some mechanical operational issues with the vehicle which needed to be serviced there, and I've never been so disappointed. The staff was rude. I did not get callbacks appropriately and the time for resolving issues was unacceptable. I don't think I will be leasing with them again because of it. read more

Two separate occasions they make a reservation for service and my warranteed repair of a leased vehicle that they sold and keep the car for almost TWO weeks with ZERO communication. Lied about estimated length of repair both times. I had to go back to the dealership and take the car unrepaired the first time. Now, I'm about to do it again. I brought my caddy in at 8:30am appt to repair/replace door handle & service engine light was on. Drivers side door does not open from the outside. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star. I should have realized when I put a deposit down and I kept calling to see when truck was coming in, but I gave them the benefit of doubt with the chip issue. Then to find out my salesman left(smart guy) but no body thought to go through his accounts and see trucks came in I had to call numerous times to find out. from them. I purchased a 2023 Acadia. Service department is the worst. I've had 2 oil leaks, radio screen goes blank for over half hour at a time ,radio on steering wheel doesn't work all the time claim they fixed it. Still does it within leaving dealership in 15min. The Lane device wasn't working their mechanic said I didn't have that function well how did I know it wasn't working if I never had it I would have never known it was working. I went home and fixed it myself and I'm not even a GM mechanic. Seatbelt had to be fixed and changed wasn't working properly. Had a hose not working they kept trying to clean it and a few days later service engine light came on again. They finally replaced it the right way. Looking at some of my invoices when sending to GMi noticed I was told they did one thing and then it says did warranty work so guess they are lying to me or frauding GM. My gas tank never stays closed which can cause condinsation and waiting for another one to be replaced. Last time they replaced the gas tank chipped the paint around my gas tank. The lower body of the car was coming off the first week I had it and was told if can't get the part not their problem it's GMs problem. I had to go down nobody ever ordered it over a month. My sunroof got stuck open and my husband stopped in to ask them to get it closed until my appointment since was going to rain. They told him No. He went to a dealership in Nassau on way to work and they helped him. Only took them 5 min. King O'Rourke duct tape and told me they can't guarantee it will hold til parts came in Oh and was an issue i was going away with car and going to be on a parkway I drive my car on a parkway everyday what difference does it make where I drive it. Bought a new car not to have issues. Now when I am driving the new issue I have water dripping on my feet. So I put a claim into GM opened a case with everything going on that's why they are mad because GM following up on them and that means they have to be accountable. GM informed me 2x that King O'Rourke said my parts are in. When I called after last message from GM last week spoke to Jimmy and he told me parts weren't in and would be a long time before they came in and hung up on me. Of course I informed GM so the rest you can understand where this phone call generated from GM reaching out to them. 7/12/24 was the best. Jimmy called me all nasty saying I called him 5x harassing him by calling constantly about my car today and he was returning my calls. I never called him.i worked and was at Sloan for cancer treatment the rest of the day. I have a call log and going to get a print out from phone company to prove it. He then proceeded to get nasty because he obviously had an audience speaker hears everyone in the room because I could here them. Then proceeded to ask why I wanted to come back to the dealership if I wrote such a bad review about them on Facebook. The reason going back because why let them push their car on someone else. All he kept bringing up was my reviews on I'm allowed to write a review about the truth how they run things to help others to stay clear of them. My husband called him right after he hung up again on me because I was upset since I called him. He wouldn't take the call big and bad with women, but not to the husband. Receptionist asking who was calling them call got disconnected. Then wouldn't pick up when he called his direct extension. Stay clear of this dealership the salesman are no better Tommy salesman manager said to me when I went in with a 2nd oil leak no big deal. I only had 23,000 miles on the car. I totaled my car at the end of September 2023. (Everyone involved is fine.) I had no idea what I wanted next. I wasn't in a rush to get a new one so I really took my time searching. After many test drives and other research, I decided I was going to purchase a Buick Envista. Normally I'd look for a used vehicle but of course I had to like something that is brand new. I read somewhere that the end of the year is best for car purchases so I waited until then. On Christmas Eve I went to King O'Rourke but they had already closed for the holiday. I assumed that all dealerships were the same so I googled for the next nearest one. The day after Christmas I visited Generation Buick in Bohemia. I told them what I was looking for in regards to trim and packages. The salesperson said that I would have to place an order and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive. I agreed to wait and left a deposit. Week 7 I reached out to the salesperson to check on my car's status. He proceeded to tell me that there was a delay in my order and that the timeframe is now 4 to 6 months. I was enjoying driving my husband's car for free so what is a few more months? The salesperson then told me he never actually placed the order and the timeframe hasn't started yet. RED FLAGS. I was treated so poorly by this salesperson and the management staff after this exchange that I couldn't possibly continue to do business with them. Generation Buick lied to me to get a sale, acted as if it was ok to scam people, and blew me off when I tried to explore alternative options. In the end I don't think they cared about selling me the car. I don't think they cared about me as a customer. I thought to myself that maybe it was a sign that I shouldn't get this car. But I looked at so many cars prior, I really wanted the Envista. I went back to King O'Rourke to see if they could help me. This was a completely different experience. Everyone I met was professional, kind and really knowledgeable about the car itself. Evan was my salesperson who doubled as a therapist that day. I truly was so beat down and in shock that Generation had been so careless with me and my money. Evan treated me with respect. He was so kind and helpful that I was now excited again for my first brand new car! Tommy took the time to talk with me as well. He gave me insight into the packages I wanted, explained how car production works and gave me an understanding of how this process is supposed to go. He knew what he was talking about which made me feel comfortable. The difference between these two dealerships is so clear. Generation Buick is not to be trusted. Stay away from this place! Brought in my caddy for an oil change and battery change on two keys. Came back to pick up my car at the end of the day, 1 key is missing. I'm was told nothing they could do. Rose Nason, Service Advisor swore up & down she personally placed the second key in the cup holder. I asked to speak to a manager who was never called. Another lady stepped up to help, found my second key in someone else's vehicle. No apologies just oh well! When I got home I realized that the truck had commercial plates on it which does not work for me as my commute is on 2 parkways. When I called up to get this fixed as I have a cap at my house and was never asked if commercial plates would be okay, I was told that I would have to wait for the registration to come in the mail and then I would have to go to the DMV and get it taken care of. I then spoke to a manager there and when I reminded him of the customer satisfaction survey that I was going to be receiving form GMC he gave me an attitude and then hung up on me. read more

I would never recommend King O'Rourke GMC to any friend or family member. I would not want to put them through the same situation that I was put through. My car was towed to the dealership on Monday July 12th. I spoke with Sonia the Loaner Manager every day during the week, from July 12th through the 16th. She said she did not have any loaner cars available, and promised me that one would be available "soon". Sonia also advised that I could rent a car from Enterprise car rental and GMC would reimburse the cost. When I asked for this in writing, the dealership declined to provide it. No one looked at the car until Wednesday July 14th. At that point after speaking with Fred in Service I was told 2-5 days for the parts to arrive to fix the issue. I was told I would receive a call back to confirm arrival of the parts, and when the loaner car would be available. When no one called me through the end of the week, I called again on Monday July 19th (one week after car was towed to the dealership). Fred told me that the part was on "indefinite" backorder, and there was nothing they could do to get the part. After asking to speak with Sonia again, no loaners were available. At no point during those 2 weeks did I get a call back from King O'Rourke, from any member of the staff. Any contact was initiated by me. On July 22nd after two weeks with no parts, no car, no loaner and no rental, I called GM corporate to expedite the process, and have someone contact me to arrange a loaner vehicle. The corporate representative informed me that, had I rented a car through Enterprise, GM would reimburse me for $46/day. The minimal rental price for the smallest car in this area is $137/day. GM informed me that I would be responsible for any cost over $46/day. At that rate, it would be over $1,200 for 2 weeks out of pocket. GM corporate called the dealership daily through August 3rd, with no response or contact. The dealership would not deal with corporate. GM corporate finally made contact with the dealership on August 8th, and told me the parts were expected to arrive on August 9th. GM corporate called me on August 9th, saying the part had arrived, and the service manager Ron had asked that I bring the car back to the dealership so they could install the parts. The car had been at the dealership since July 12th, and was apparently "lost" by the dealership. After more calls from corporate, the dealership "found" the car that had been in their posession for two weeks. The car was finally repaired and available for pickup on Friday August 12th, 4 weeks after being towed in. I finally spoke with the service manager Ron (who would not return phone calls during the previous month). He apologized for his dealerships performance, and said things should have been handled better. In addition, I spoke with the General Manager. He seemed to think that having an inexperienced service and deck team was an adequate excuse for the dealerships lack of communication. Overall, my car was out of my posession for 4 full weeks. I was never given a loaner car, never secured a rental, and had to drive my wife's lease for a month, sharing time when possible. No restitution was ever made, and no apologies were given. This is a sad excuse for a service department and a dealership, from the bottom to the top. I would never purchase from them again, nor would I bring my car for service there again. I will not be purchasing or leasing a GMC vehicle again. The only positive note to be said was that GM corporate handled things as efficient and professionally as possible. Two weeks ago I purchased a 2021 GMC Acadia. Before purchasing, I expressed my concern to Ben Signorelli about three of the tires on the car which I felt were very worn out. I was assured by Ben that the tires had at least 20,000 miles worth of life on them. After purchasing the car I went to Good year Tire service at which time they used a tire tool that they use to inspect cars. The right front tire was a number nine, The left front tire was a number three, The back right tire was a number three and the back left was a number four. The Goodyear Service man said I needed to purchase four new tires or it would destroy my transfer case. After putting 15,000 cash on car I would have expected Ben to be professional enough to give Three tires that match the front right tire. So now I am purchasing 1000.00 worth of tires two weeks after purchasing this car. Would I ever buy a car again from King O'Rouke? Absolutely not would I ever recommend King O'Rouke? Never got back to me. Left voice messages and texted him. No response. I spent over three hours waiting for a tire to be changed, seriously! Despite being told that it would be less then one hour, it was not and this was similar to my first experience. A little recap on why you should never ever bring your car to for service or buy a car from King o'rourke gmc in smithtown. What a horrible dealership. My wife brought our 2019 Yukon that we purchased from them 11 months ago in for service and it was robbed from the dealership and crashed. They actually left the keys in the car over night. They found out about the truck being stolen at 1250am but didn't tell us. We never even heard from them. When we found out at 930am from the police we called onstar and they shut it down in the Bronx and it was recovered. Had we called at 12:50am it probably would have been in happauge. Why didn't they call onstar? Its an expensive truck they know it has it we bought it from them. Today at the dealership they would not let us have the vehicle back and said that we had to pay for the tow truck cost because the dealership had to pick it up in the Bronx after it was stolen from them. It was recovered by a private king orourke tow truck. This is a vehicle that was left in their possession and they don't even want to pay for the gas to pick it up. So if I drop it off in smithtown I am expected to pick it up in the bronx or pay to have it brought back from the Bronx? I'm confused. Or is it fraud?How convenient have your place robbed and then make $600 on tow fees and then get paid to fix the truck. Which has thousands in damage. That's one way to do business I guess. Not only did they do absolutely nothing to help us or compemsate us they made the experience so much more awful then it had to be. The absolute WORST service department I've ever experienced, service advisor did not call me once in 3 days...I had to call him over and over again and he would never call me back. Actually lied to me and said I had a mail in my tire when the car wasn't even looked at yet and it wound up being something else...I can't believe the manager/owner allows this place to be ran this way. I walked into the dealership with P0117 issue and Tom Comptello was the agent that assisted. It was very busy however he was able to get the car fixed. I did spend a long time at the dealership and that may have been the extended warranty part. Tom was well informed, courteous and Helpful. read more

I was told to hire my own company because the company you guys use did not show up on multiple occasions. I was partially reimbursed I was not fully reimbursed and replacing running boards that you broke is not a favor it's kind of an obligation under these circumstances. You're surprised I went to social media? I gave the short version and left out the 10 times I had to come back in between because of all the errors. Last visit I was told by Mike forehlich that the remaining 200 plus dollars was submitted to be reimbursed but it never was. He also asked that I not bash gmc on social media.... I said no problem. He didn't keep his word so I didn't keep mine. And the company didn't damage my driveway your "no experience necessary" mechanics did when they fucked up an oil change.... The damage due to Powerwashing was subsequent to that. One person responded to emails. Oh and I was also told post Powerwashing they would pay to reseal my driveway. I have all the emails from your staff in regards to the situation. Maybe stop hiring people with no experience or follow through on resolving issues they create. Mistakes are allowed to happen...all good but your incompetent staff should learn to not promise things they won't follow through on. Let's not forget the phone call I received from whomever in regards to the running boards . "Why should we be out money" who authorized replacing them" implying that I should pay lol. Asking for names. Why would I sell out the only person that helped? And why would I spend the time writing negative reviews if I wasn't told to do xyz and that I would be reimbursed. Just because you guys fire the people that actually help doesn't mean gmc shouldn't honor prior conversations. This is strictly principle based and mostly because of how I was spoken to by Ron Guzzi. Bought and leased many cars in my 75 years and have been treated well by most car dealerships. But King O'Rourke has been a true cut above any previous experience I've had. We've recently leased a 2016 GMC Canyon from them and they have made every experience so simple and even fun. Did not have to haggle over price, their service dept is the best, sales and staff always helpful. If I had to leave the truck they would drive me twenty miles to my home. Just recently I had to leave truck there and they loaned me a Buick Enclave until it is fixed. I know this sounds like an ad, but I'm just a regular customer blowing their horn a bit because they worked very hard and deserve a good word and my enthusiasm. George Mueller read more

Purchased a 2021 GMC Sierra back in 2020 and have had to bring it in for service 2 times. The first time they actually broke the truck even worse than what I brought in and tried to blame it on me. After getting that resolved I told myself I'd never bring it back to them. Not having a choice I brought it back for 1 more small issue and after waiting 2 days without hearing about it I finally called and was told it would be ready by 2pm. I showed up at 2:15 wasn't acknowledged until 2:45 than was told it will be another hour. This place is honestly the worst dealership I've ever seen and I am ready to sell this truck just so I don't have to deal with their incompetence. This dealership is terrible and nothing but a bunch of people who want to charge you 10X what the price should be. Specifically the service department. I will NEVER buy or lease another vehicle from King O'Rourke smithtown and I will advise all of my family and friends to do the same. And until my current lease is over I will take my car to a mechanic for whatever it needs. Never again will I give this place another cent. The only person in that place with a heart and a conscience is the salesman John. He's a gem. They should just let him run the entire place, because then maybe their customers would actually feel valued and respected.
