    "Spa Day" drink

Star for atmosphere: it's got that 1920s film noir energy. Playing old silent black and white films. Another star for uniqueness: they have a tarot card reader some nights, large candle dripped candelabras on the bar, a coat of armor set outside during the warmer months. Signature cocktails. Another star for the friendliness of the bartenders: they will get creative with drinks while you chat with them on what flavors you enjoy. And one more star for location and the space it's in (in the heart of Lincoln Park). Only wish they had a variety of drinks other than cocktails/liquor. Would love wine to be an option.

Great happy hour deals here! Love how much they leaned into the theme. Literally every piece of decor and everything playing on screen is intentional and on brand. Tip: they are a cashless bar

Late review, but my friend and I visited during October for a fun Halloween activity. The place was very nicely decorated and they had great cocktails and outstanding service (our bartender was very kind and attentive). It is a small place but very intimate and cozy. It got crowded a few times but quickly cleared up. The only downside is that my friend really wanted to come here for some spooky vibes (the tarot card reading) but we didn't get a chance to as there was over an hour long wait. We stayed about 1.5hrs with no luck but it was still a great time!

This bar had a theme, and it delivered. The interior is smartly decorated to create a mysteriously vibe. They also offer tarot reading. If you plan to get one done, you should put your name on the waitlist right away or before you get to the bar. This can be done on their website. There can quite be a wait. On the weekends, the reading goes longer. They had a fun variety of cocktails. My Electric bugaboo highball was strong. If you like super sweet drinks, this one's for you. You can feel the sugar at the back of your throat. Definitely a cool bar worth visiting for a fun night!

Came for a quick drink for Happy Hour before a show. They have a good happy hour special. The place was quiet and modern music was playing. Only one bartender available when we came. For drinks we ordered Old Fashion and Plum Moscow Mule. Drinks were decent. The Mule may have been pre-made. I didn't watch the making of the old fashion but I pretty sure I saw the mule be poured from the draft. I would return with more time. Patio seems nice and the bar was a dark and sexy vibe.

King of Cups is such a cool bar! Their decor is centered around medieval vibes. They've also got a fantastic happy from 5-7 daily (yes that includes Friday & Saturday!!). Plus they offer tarot card readings. If you haven't been you need to check it out!! We went for happy hour. We both got the plum moscow mule as our first drink. It definitely packed a punch for only being $6! I got the espresso martini as my second drink, but forgot to take a picture. It was so good though!! And only $8! I've been to King of Cups many times before this and will definitely be back again. Their happy hour is the perfect way to start a night out. My favorite part is that the vibes are so cool that you feel like you're at an expensive cocktail lounge, without breaking the bank.

Definitely a one of a kind bar. Love the gothic decor and atmosphere, and the bartender was very inviting and friendly. They have delicious espresso martinis too! If I lived close by, I'd be here all the time

The bestie and I were looking for a local watering hole after a great meal. I noticed a knight standing guard by the door and had to see what was on the other side. The ambiance inside was medieval vibes ; picture a beautiful chandelier, a throne, and candles at the bar. There were televisions behind the bar that were playing cartoons and movies. We found a table rather quickly in the dimly lit space. We ordered two espresso martinis and they were exquisite. Bittersweet with subtle flavors. I highly recommended this unique space again! I will definitely return for another martini!

When I first heard about this place from someone ear hustling my conversation about awesome cocktail bars a few months ago, I was shocked that a place like this exists in Lincoln Park. I then found out this place is owned by the people that gave us Brandos in South Loop. I have now been a couple of times and the place is awesome. If there was a modern cocktail bar on Game of Thrones, this would be the place. I believe they do tarot readings in the back. I came on a date once and with a good friend of mine visiting from out of town recently. Scene is cool as it has a throne, dim lighting and very intimate setting. Not that big a place and if you want a guaranteed seat, its best to get a reservation. I was lucky enough both times to get a seat without reserving. As a mecal lover, the O'Guillotine is my go to cocktail here! It includes mezcal (of course), lemon, white balsamic beet shrub and finochietto liqueur...very delicious. Maximilian is delicious as well as its kinda like an old fashioned with banana mezcal and bourbon and they set it on fire. Grand Old Fashioned is great as well! Drinks range between $14-$20. Beer and wine is available as well. Love this spot as it great from small groups, dates, a buddy or even a solo mission.

Creative cocktail bar with tarot reading and spooky vibes. There might be a queue for the reading, you have enter your name and wait.

The cutest, themed cocktail bar in Lincoln Park! Based on the amount of people there, I didn't think the cocktails would be that good but they were INCREDIBLE and so well crafted! Their happy hour is such a good deal, highly recommend the espresso martini because it's one of the best I've had in the city. I can't member the name but the one on fire with tequila or maybe rum was also a must order! The bartenders were super nice and very attentive. Keep in mind it's pretty loud in there though, FYI.

The case had gone cold--or perhaps mezcal-hot--until we received a clue pointing us toward River North. Ghost Donkey is spacious, colorful, and full of energy, with plenty of bar seating and tables. The music can get loud, but it fits the atmosphere perfectly. The bartenders were constantly interacting with guests, swinging the lights, encouraging the crowd, and turning the entire room into a neon-lit fiesta. They do have a food menu featuring items such as tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and guacamole, but we mostly came for the drinks. Many of the cocktails are tequila- or mezcal-based, which is exactly what we enjoy. The menu is creative, the drinks are strong, and the bar does an excellent job making agave spirits approachable--even for guests who may not consider themselves mezcal experts. After two drinks and an argument with a decorative donkey, we finally found the missing spirit hiding behind the bar. He was translucent, smelled faintly of roasted agave, and appeared to be carrying a tiny map. We followed him through a glowing hallway, down a staircase, and into a secret chamber where he revealed the legendary piñata of Quetzalcoatl, the ancient feathered serpent god. Naturally, we attempted to break it open. Instead of candy, it released a cloud of mystical dust, three lime wedges, and a receipt for nachos. The ghost donkey brayed with laughter, the lights began swinging, and the entire bar erupted in applause. The bartender handed us another drink and told us this happened all the time. Ghost Donkey is a fantastic place to hang out, pregame, and enjoy inventive tequila and mezcal cocktails in a lively setting. Just be warned: you may arrive looking for a ghost donkey and leave having helped recover an ancient Mexican god's piñata. That's simply the sort of evening this place encourages.

It's a reasonably-priced busy dive bar in the heart of Chicago. I asked the bartender if she had a beer + shot deal and she said "no, but you can order a beer and shot." And so we did! Noise level is fairly high, thanks to a lively crowd plus a jukebox. They don't normally serve food but I think are fine with customers bringing in your own food, and you can also place an order from a nearby restaurant (I don't recall which one). And yes, it's cash only so bring some money if you don't want to pay ATM fees! 4 out of 5 Green Stars for social and environmental impact. After a quick ID check at the door, the bouncer let us know it's cash only (thankfully we came prepared). From the moment we walked in, dim lighting, loud music, and shoulder-to-shoulder crowds gave the vibe of a full-on frat party, but not in a bad way. It's chaotic, energetic, and unapologetically no-frills. There's even a self-serve cooler with drink prices clearly listed underneath. I grabbed a Sapporo Premium, brought it to the counter, and our friendly bartender broke our change and offered a chilled glass to pour it into. Simple and efficient. That said, it was loud, so loud that even whispering-distance conversations were a struggle. The space is small, seating is limited, and since we couldn't snag a spot, we ended up leaving shortly after finishing our drinks. This feels like a better weekday hang than a packed weekend night. Still, if you're looking for a classic, gritty, no-frills dive experience, Rossi's delivers exactly that.

We were doing some appetizers so we got their style of cheese curds order, some crab rangoons, and pretzel with sauce/cheese to share. Those cheese curds were insanely good. Everyone at our table LOVED them. We wouldn't stop talking about them and had wished there were more. The ranch was excellent as well. We didn't like their marinara though - a bit too watered down. These curds were shaped more like cubes which isn't the traditional way they look, but unique and SO delicious. We also really liked the crab rangoon here. Pretzel was ok, but nothing crazy.
