This place was really good! I walked in and was a bit hesitant because it was completely empty. We sat down and decided to push through to see how it would go. We ordered appetizers that were delicious and I ordered the curry chicken (they didnt have it available which really bummed me out) and ultimately settled on the Chicken Pho. It was DELICIOUS! California transplant, we are not from this area but drove to try their Vietnamese food as it has been MONTHS since I've had my comfort food. Upon entering the aroma was fresh & pleasant. Interior very clear, we stayed in the common area. The servers were very friendly, open to questions and attentive to make sure the food was enjoyable. Price doesn't matter for good quality food made to order, but in my opinion it is very reasonable. This will definitely be our new go to spot! Lived in San Jose, CA where there's pho restaurants, com tom restaurants, banh xeo restaurants, banh mi shops at every corner! Their banh xeo is one of my go to dishes. Always friendly service. Really glad we got the chance to try King Pho! Vietnamese cuisine is something we recently tried tapping into and plan to continue. We were warmly greeted upon entering and seated at the booth of our choice. There is plenty of seating, including a cute little patio option. We ordered spring rolls for our appetizer, I selected the Bun Bo Cha Gio, my dining partner, the Pho Tai Nam. The spring rolls were beautifully crafted and served with a sauce. Neither of us cared for the slice of bacon that was representing the pork in the dish. It was presumably raw and didn't taste the greatest. Unfortunately, there was no other flavor present in either the roll or the sauce. We added chili oil, from the delightful condiment station at the table, to the sauce to help it out a bit. However, both the Pho and the Bun Bo made up for the rolls. Each dish was full of flavor, veggies, Thai basil, and freshness! Every bite was literally delightful! We will definitely try more things on the menu at King Pho as we continue on our Vietnamese Cuisine journey! read more

Very nice staff here, prices are comparable to elsewhere, and food was great and a large portion. Could have easily split in two and taken half home for another meal. We found this restaurant while looking for breakfast spots in Okemos. It opens at 10:30 am. Had great reviews on Yelp. Well, those reviews went out the door after the first 15 minutes in the restaurant. We discovered that the restaurant is under new ownership, so previous reviews are out the door. We first ordered a wonton appetizer that was excellent, and believe it or not, they gave us 6 (even number) of wontons. My wife ordered the meatball & rare beef Pho & I ordered their Special Pho. Both of us agreed this was the best pho we have ever tasted. The broth was so good! The pho was also full of noodles and meats. An ample supply of bean sprouts, basil, limes and jalapeños were served also. I saw an order of fried rice being served to another customer, and it looked very generous for $13.95. We drove by this place on our way to the mall and decided to stop by. Boy were we glad. We ordered the Vietnamese Bahn Mi (Sub sandwich) and the bread was nice and flaky, veggies fresh and crunchy and the ham was super tasty. So much, that I forgot to take a photo. Wife said 10 out of 10. My wife had the Bun bo Hue (she changed the vermicelli noodles for Pho noodles. Just her preference.). She said the broth was average, but the portion size and meat were awesome! I had the King Pho. I'm Hmong, so I tend to pimp out my Pho broth. But I always taste it prior for reviews. The broth was light and not too greasy. A great base to make it your own! Portion size was awesome too, and the fresh veggies were on point. Authentic and delicious. First time here. I enjoy Vietnamese food as often as possible. I was excited to try King Pho. I ordered the Bun Bo Hue, a spicy version of Pho. It was excellent and plentiful. The side dish of herbs and vegis were very fresh. My companion ordered another Bun dish and it was also excellent. My companion mentioned that King Pho is now her favorite for Bun. The service was great. Not super fast but the the staff were polite and attentive. There were not many diners on Friday night however the kitchen looked busy with take out orders. I highly recommend King Pho for anyone wanting an authentic experience. read more

This is the best pho in town! I'm partial to the pho thai and will hype it up forever. The broth is deeply flavorful and has the right little bit of fat in it too. There's no bland broth in sight. It is so delicious. The meat is thinly sliced and never chewy and all the sides are fresh. Crisp, fresh bean spouts and fresh basil are piled high. The folks who run the place and quiet but kind and let you enjoy dining at your pace. The younger guy is also very nice and friendly. I'm never hurried to leave and always welcomed and thanked for visiting. Bonus: the feee little candies at the register are a fun extra. Based on my love of southeast Asian cuisine, I was told by around 10 people that I needed to try the new Vietnamese restaurant in the area. My friends were giving rave reviews. That's a lot to live up to. Upon walking in, King Pho is a smaller restaurant. There is an indoor seating area and patio seating outside. The feel is very casual but welcoming. Our server provided us some in house made sauces. They were hot chili oil, ginger, and garlic. All were delicious. The appetizer was full of rich flavor, cooked well, and paired beautifully with the sauces. I typically try the Pho, Bahn Mi, or Bun Dac Biet at a new Vietnamese restaurant as those are staples that cannot fall short. As it was 85°, I went with the Bun. Bún Tôm Thit Nuóng Chá Giò was our entree. The meat, shrimp, noodles, sauce, fresh veggies, and fresh herbs were a perfect combination. It was fresh and light tasting while being packed with flavor. The meat was marinaded to ultimate tenderness. Our server was nice and helpful. She's explained they've only been open with the current ownership for 3 weeks. If the food continues to maintain this level of quality, they will do well. Overall: $34 for two entrees and an appetizer. We opted for water, so nothing spent on drinks. Great authentic Viet food! I haven't been able to find a good phò place in East Lansing/Okemos area for a while. Their pho is oily (as it should be) and full of umami. Their small pho is actually about the size of a large bowl so you get more than other places. Visiting from Wisconsin, I was looking around for a decent pho place. Saw King Pho had a 5 star review so I had to put it to the test, being Hmong myself. It knocked my expectations out of the park. Pho broth was perfect, savory and not too salty, and all I had to add was chili garlic and lime. The gentleman who served me was very fast and brought food out to me as soon as it was ready, providing unparalleled service.
