    Fish and chips

I had this place on my radar after seeing Anthony Bourdain had eaten here. We ordered fish and chips, 1/2 lobster and a crab salad. My son reports that the fish and chips was in the top 3 of our Ireland trip. The lobster was nice, they made it really easy to access the meat, and the entire bottom on the plate had a thin layer of butter which was ingenious. The crab salad was tasty and light. I felt like something lighter after spending the whole trip mainly eating meat and carbs. Everything here is super fresh. They have indoor and outdoor seating with the requisite nautical theme, service was solid.

Extremely fresh, meaty, locally sourced oysters.

One of the best seafood meals in recent memory. Strike that! One of the best seafood meals, like seriously top 10, of my life. Excellent prawns, mussels and lobster. Top notch fish&chips. Glass of crisp white wine and mussels... proof Heaven exists. Well worth the 45 minute ride on the train from central station. Guaranteed this is a non-negotiable destination dinner every time I'm in Dublin.

Oysters. We had a set for an appetizer, and then we decided we needed a second set for dessert.

We tried to come here in the beginning of June, and sadly, they were busy and we didn't have a reservation, so we ate at Beshoff's instead. The scallops there were divine, but the lobster was not so much. Much to our delight, we were able to come back and get a table at Sitric's. Holy crap! Every single bite of their prepared lobster in butter sauce was perfect. Every bite made me sad for what that other place did to the poor lobsters. This was perfection. We also had the oyster which were fantastic (hard to mess up fresh oysters), and the crab claws which were absolutely fabulous. The Guinness was on point (despite the lies Guinness tells you, it is different at different places) and the wines on tap were great. The dining room was cozy and seasidey. I can't recommend this place more.

What a wonderful establishment!!! I was greeted by warm and welcoming staff and seated promptly! The staff here is very warm and upbeat! The ambiance of this establishment gives me nautical vibes, with a cozy and comforting energy as well! For my starter, I ordered calamari! It came with a delicious aioli dipping sauce! The calamari was nice and fresh, and I sprinkled some lemon juice overtop the calamari before digging in! They were gone just as fast as the dish came out! For my main course, I ordered a lobster roll with chips! The lobster roll was extremely delicious and juicy! With lots of texture and bite! It beat the lobster rolls that i've had in Maine hands down! The chips added a nice touch to each and every bite! I was in absolute paradise! With each bite my endorphins were boosted! Woo lawd! I left very satisfied! Check this place out! Cheers to good eats!

If you in the mood for some freshest seafood and want some coastal scenery with it come to Howth only 35 min train ride from Dublin. King Sitric delivers amazing seafood. Oysters delicious, prawns melt in your mouth and lobster roll was plentiful. Pair it with Carlsberg and you got yourself a great lunch. Staff was polite and attentive. We set on the covered patio to enjoy the view.

So here's what brought me here! Anthony Bourdain. I've been in the food business for awhile and if I can ever take a vacation and he's been there I'm going if they are open. Look it could be bad, he was a lovely man that worked hard with locals - but this place delivered. The Sauv Blanc and neat glass of local Whiskey to get warm helps start to get your craving underway! I got some shucked oysters, a crab cake, prawns in butter and a crab salad with sourdough and brown bread and I could have been rolled out. They get busy so if you can make a reservation! Great bartenders, I sat inside at the only table attached to the bar. All of them plus back were wonderful to me. Sometimes as a solo traveler you get treated differently if there were a few and these guys were family or friends - quick talks about travels and tattoos! Will book a trip again to Ireland but I would stay a few days in Howth!

A must visit place in Howth! Got this suggestion from social media, and could not be happier with my experience. Would highly recommend to anyone coming to Ireland. Food is very fresh and staff were great. We learned a lot about the town of Howth. The restaurant also has a B and B on top. Fish and chips were superior as well as the soup.

This is a great destination place to get away from Dublin congestion. Situated at the end of the pier overlooking the harbor in the fishing village of Howth, the view can't be beat. There are hotel rooms, which is a new addition that took place with the remodeling of 1999. Somehow the charm of the old building was lost in the remodeling. The dining room now is a bit too sterile for me; however the food is quite good. Take the black sole on the bone, as you'll find the meat is sweeter. My dining companions were not as adept as me in handling the fish, so they had theirs' deboned and it was just not as appetizing to me. Good wine list to match the food, great views to add to the ambiance.

Had King Sitric on our list of places to eat after watching the well known Anthony Bourdain glorify it on The Layover. I'm not sure what the recent reviews of bad service are all about but I would have to say the waitresses and bartenders were more than accommodating, friendly, and gave 110%. I'm going to be dreaming of the mussels and seafood chowder until our next visit to Howth. 5 Stars all around!

Great!!! Grilled lobster (served with fried potatoes and butter) is delicious!! Reccomended! The staff is very kind and friendly. At the end the bill is right for the quality food, 25 euros a lobster.

King Sitric is in a prime location at Howth harbour. It has a great terrace out front and inside is a pretty cool restaurant and bar area (although maybe a bit on the small side). There is a more formal area upstairs where the view must be great. As is to be expected, the menu was mainly fish based, the lobster looked pretty great. However, I wasn't really happy with my dish. I got the chowder and fishcake, which was beautifully presented like all there dishes. The fishcake was ok, it was mostly potato and I couldn't see or taste much fish. The chowder was better and had a good selection of fish. However, as chowders go it wasn't anything special and there was a bit too much potato in it too. The service was very good and the plate of food set me back €10, which I felt was reasonable. Oh, the Guinness here was really good.

This is kid's menu chicken tenders. My kids could not finish.

Since we were on this side of the town, we decided to make the most of it and look for a meal of seafood. I had Octopussy's Tapas bookmarked when researching for the trip, so we decided to stop in for lunch. It was a Thursday at around 1:30, and the restaurant was almost full. It's a very small restaurant and it's mostly high top tables with bar stools, so it wasn't exactly looking baby-friendly, since had our 8-month old and a stroller with us. Luckily, they have a small back room (literally a room that can probably seat 4-6 people) that was available, and they seat us back there. It was nice and cozy, and cute - decorated like you were on a ship. Here is what we ordered: -Carlingford Oysters (served in the shell with fresh lemon) - these oysters were everything! They were big, shucked properly, and tasted super fresh. It didn't need anything but the lemon but they did recommend us trying their housemade hot sauce. We did and we loved it, and ended up buying a bottle to take home. We also ended up ordering some more oysters for dessert (lol) -Seafood Chowder (squid, mussels, smoked coley, & prawns served with homemade brown bread) - this was full of seafood. It is heavy though since chowder is cream-based so I would recommend sharing this, as opposed to ordering one on your own. The brown bread was also very nice -Seafood Paella (paella rice, chorizo, mussels, gambas, squid rings, and smoked coley) - another dish filled with seafood. They don't skimp out here! I could have done without the squid rings (they tasted rubber-bandy, like they're from frozen), and the smoked coley. I'm not a huge fan of smoked foods. I didn't really taste it in the chowder - maybe the cream covered it up, but I was able to taste it more in the paella -Whiskey Scallops (cooked in whiskey butter) - very rich but the scallops were good. You definitely want to dip some of the brown bread in this sauce There were so many other dishes we wanted to try but we had to stop ourselves from ordering too much for two people. Overall, it was a great meal and at these prices for seafood?! You really can't beat it.

I don't know if I could tell these apart except from the shape so I asked which was the most popular and was told cod. So I ordered the cod fish & chips and a side of mushy peas. I ordered at the counter and waited about 5 minutes for my number to be called then took the box outside to eat on the lawn near the water, keeping a careful watch on the aggressive seagulls. The portion was good, the fish was fresh like just off the boat, the batter light and mildly seasoned, and no disagreeable flavors from the frying oil. Unfortunately the batter was inconsistent: thin and crunchy in places, thicker and soggy in others. The fries were just ok, starchy. So overall only average. I had to try mushy peas again, just my second time. They tasted and looked just like they sound: mashed up green peas. No mint flavoring added this time. Fine for what they were, but I just don't get it. I think I prefer coleslaw with my fish&chips but I don't think it's offered here. Perhaps coleslaw is an American thing? So only average overall. But I'd consider returning if I wanted a quick takeout lunch as the other restaurants in the area were more formal sit-down places.

So there you have it! Howth is a 25 minute train trip from Dublin on the DART -- about 5 euro return, give or take. Really nice side trip that can be done easily. Beautiful area.
