It…read moreis a task I never like to do as a parent but when it was time to decide on a new after school program for our two boys--Guardian made the decision easy. I sent an email through their site just to ask some general questions and received a reply super fast. Then I decided to call and realized it was during a class time so I hung up without leaving a message. I was so surprised to still get a return call to see if my needs were met. Every time I had a question that I sent by email, I received a response. Finally decided I needed to see it for myself and during my initial visit one of the children came right up to me and told me, "I think you will like this place." That child was right! My boys have been attending now for about a month and they can't stop talking about it. They are 10 years old and 6 years old. They are learning respect and discipline without experiencing a military style boot camp. They get so much physical activity but yet time to just be a kid. I feel bad that I made them endure in another program (ESP) for the last year instead of finding Guardian sooner. It is like having a new little family. The kids quickly made friends and are learning the expectations of the classes. The Professors, Coaches and staff are super engaging and helpful. When my kids are happy and safe, it makes me feel secure that have chosen well. Thanks Guardian for all you do!

There are a couple things about this gym that makes this unique compared to the other BJJ gyms in the area. We take a no nonsense approach to BJJ in the fact that we really put an emphasis on BJJ that works in self defense. Many of the schools around the area train for competition, but when it comes to competition, our gym's characteristics really manifest itself in competition. But the biggest reason why I'd give this gym 5 out of 5 is due to the fact that coach really cares for each of the students. He takes the time to make sure that we get each technique before moving on. Because of his coaching style, a mini community developed within the gym that really welcomes new practitioners and veterans alike. Upon our party consultation, they threw out many ideas that all sounded great. they made the planning experience so easy and fun! I showed up to the studio with the place decked out for the party. Balloons, streamers, party favors... it was all included. Guests started arriving and it was soon evident that a Karate party is a HOT TICKET ITEM, as we were double our expectant guest list. Our hosts took it in stride and were gracious and accommodating-- truly hospitable. They hosted the kids with an array of fun games and lessons, while the adults were able to mingle in a designated area. It was perfect, and the kids were obviously having just as much fun as the adults. Listen, I was told multiple times that evening that it was the funnest kids party many of our guests had attended. I know i had a great time. I can't recommend KSA for a kids party highly enough. It was so easy and fun, I suspect my niece will have Karate parties from here on out. It took us a long time to find something he really enjoyed but that still gave him the physcial activity he needed. I know the Lord led us right here, specifically to Rodgers TA. Prior to our decision to sign up with RTA, we had visited with the leader of another academy close by wherein she explained that their school was doing away with forms (katas) and why. We didn't understand til we had a conversation with Mr. Rodgers and went to the first trial class just how important those katas are. So we are super thankful we chose RTA. Every teacher is helpful and thorough and patient and encouraging. There is never shame if a move is forgotten or tried and not done right. There is no pressure to get everything right as fast as you can. They want to make sure you are confident prior to testing. A testament to Mr. Rodgers' ability, teaching method, and stellar results with seriously amazing martial artists is the number of students he has had for over 10 and even 20 years!!!
