I was looking for a good tint place near San Bruno & went to a few different places before deciding on King Tint. The owner Douglas made a deal with me & my boyfriend if we brought both of our cars in at the same time. He gave us a price of $400.00, which I thought was fair considering the other 2 places quoted me $280 for my car alone! He even said to bring the car in at our convience. We tried using this company to install some decals on a vehicle. We only went to them because they were recommended by 3m. Our 3m dealer installs these decals for us all the time. 20 to 30 min tops. These guys tried charging us for 2 hours $240.. for something that takes 20 min..... the shop down the street is doing the same job for $75..... nuff said.. Clearguard is now getting our business. We had our customer call us from the shop and the guy at King would not even get on the phone with us. How unprofessional can you be. Our customer left basically laughing at how bad this place is... Last year I walked into King Tint and an associate patiently walked me through the available tinting options. I decided to go with King Ting because I felt their pre-sale customer service was better than other shops I checked out. For my car I went with the 3M FX-PM film and have been satisfied with the product. There haven't been any signs of bubbling, fading, cracking nor peeling. Unfortunately I have to deduct two stars because the interior of a door frame was scratched during the installation process. The associate didn't point it out to me when I picked up my car but when I brought the scratches to his attention he didn't try to deny responsibility. read more

ABOVE AND BEYOND!!! These guys not only did a fantastic job in an incredibly short amount of time, but they went above and beyond to make this birthday surprise possible. They turned around the tinting in one day on my husband's Volkswagen Eurovan (a HUGE job). The work was of absolute highest quality and they even delivered the car to my house when it was finished at 9:30PM at night just because Douglas had told me he'd have it back to me that same day (even though I told him it was okay to wait until morning). Amazing! They gave me a ride to the BART and even offered to take me all the way home when I dropped the car off. Two friends had recommended I go to King Tint with my new car's tint job. King Tint use 3M product which I understand is amongst the best there is. The team worked on my car until 1 or 2 am (I guess I have a tricky car to work on) and the car looked fantastic. Douglas was really friendly, kept me up to date on their progress. The oldest car in our combined group is still looking just as it did when the job was done. Our cars range in tints from 35% all the way down to 20%, and each car looks elegant. Brought both of my vehicles to King Tint and they did a nice job. My first vehicle the tint job was flawless, my second vehicle just about there. Bubbles on one of my side windows are not going away but I was told I can bring it back anytime to have it fixed. Overall customer service is good, and so far I have no complaints. He does great work, and is also VERY punctual about it. I arrived at the time he said it would be done, and I didn't have to wait a minute after. May 14, 2012-I searched the internet for vehicle tinting, and came across a few. After reading the reviews of all, they were all in the same ballpark. King Tint's location was the one closest to me. I called and spoke to the owner, who was very courteous, and pricing was comparable to the to other 2 places I phoned. I was able to bring my car in the same afternoon 5/14/2012, and it took just over an hour. The process was painless, the owner was nice and my car came out of their shop looking good. Brought one of my cars here to have Scotchshield applied to the windows, and stayed to watch Pat and Cedric work. Scotchshield is a security film, so it impressed me that Pat and Cedric took the doors and tailgate apart to make sure they got the film deep onto the glass. It's been about six months now, and there have been no problems with their work. Douglas is the Tint King and does a high quality job for a fair price, that equals great value for your money. He was on time, did a great job for the price quoted. I took my Dodge Charger for window tint and graphic installation 2 years ago. I was sure to listen to his instructions not to open the windows for 2 days so the tint can bond properly and I never had any bubbling, peeling, fading or issues with the installation. Brought in a brand new car to get tinted. Got my car back to see smudge on the window. I gave it 4 weeks to dry. It didnt come off. Returned it to get it re done. Still a smear on a different part of the window after getting it re done! On top of that, window doesnt close the same. And the door panel has a gap in it due to them un screwing the door panel to fix the first tint that was messed up. Smh. Not only that, the guy told me the first tint that had a smear was a manufacturer default. I knew he was lying and he didnt want to admit it was human error. I knew this because when they returmed the car to me the second time after they fixed it there was STILL a smear on the tint just in a different spot. For $300 at that! Go to best image in san mateo for cheaper the price and better workmanship. Go anywhere besides this overpriced spot that cant even get tint done right. Twice! Smh. read more

Worst Job ever, he over booked me, i waited over 2 hours for him to just start my car. Then when he finally got to it. he took his sweet time on it over 3.5 hours he would keep stopping to talk to his buddies, he was on his phone while working on my car and screwed it up, ( I swear i think he was drunk ). When I saw the finished job. I noticed he cut my weather stripping, scratched my windows, and some places where he couldn't cut the film perfectly how touched it up with touch up paint!!!!!!! How ridiculous is that????? And the worst thing after all of this, the following week it started peeling, and had lots of bubbles. I finally took it yesterday to a professional shop to get it done and they laughed at this job, it cost me a lot more money because they had to strip all of his old tint, and clean off the touch up paint? King Tint did a fantastic job tinting my car windows. I had a quote within an hour of leaving a message asking for more information, he was able to schedule the appointment a few days out, and the quality of the application is, so far, fantastic. It does not look aftermarket at all. He applied a UV coating to the front windows and a darker coating to the rear passenger windows. I wish I'd found them years ago. read more

I went to this place based upon location and the other persons review. Before taking your vehicle to King Tint, I would seriously consider checking out some other places. I scheduled a tint job with Douglas for 10:30am. He stated that it would take 2 to 3 hours to complete. He didn't finish the job till 4:42pm. If he would've stated the job might take longer than the 2 to 3 hours, I would have left the vehicle for the day and just picked it up after work. I had scheduled another appointment for the windows that needed to be done again at 9:00am this morning. I was at the shop at 9am and again at 10:12am. He never showed up. I called his business number and he doesn't answer the phone. I leave messages but there aren't any return calls. What good is a guarantee of workmanship if he doesn't show up for appointments at his place of business, doesn't answer his business phone and doesn't return phone messages? Not much of a business or business person in my opinion. Note: For some reason my review keeps getting deleted. This will be the third time I have posted this review. I do have the receipt to show that I did have work done at King Tint. Anybody at Yelp can contact me and I will fax a copy of it to your office for verification. read more

I was actually referred to this place by a friend of mine and after seeing several yelp reviews, I decided to go to the place. Douglas was very easy to talk to and pretty down to earth. Initially, I was pretty hesitant because the price was kind of steep. I'm not sure if people can get a better deal but I paid nearly $260 for 7 windows 3m tint. However, the results were great and are very professional. He took almost three hours on my tint. I'd rather have a guy spend more time working on it till perfection than have another guy rush through the job and doing a lousy job. I go to school in southern california and you nearly don't see people with such a good tint job without their windows turning purple. I had my windows tinted a couple of months ago and it still looks great. My friend did it last year and it still looks great as well. I definitely will bring any cars I need to get tinted in the future. Oh, and one more thing is to BRING CASH!!! I knew beforehand so when he told me his credit card machine was broken, I was already expecting some excuse like that. My only complaint still is that its still kinda pricey since I know a friend who had his done for 150$ for 5 windows in san mateo. read more
