I don't know what's changed here. I was a repeat customer, brought 3 of my cars and few friends cars. Brought my car to get all windows tinted. I left the shop and few days later I noticed bubbles, and spots where glue and dirt was trapped. Brought it back, they fixed doors, left the windshields. Now looking at it there is a crease on the window they fixed, again bubbles on the windows they fixed already. Rear windshield tint is bubbling around the defrost lines, front windshield has lines in it. I took it to another shop and they told me it's a crappy job, and cheap material. Hard to see because of the reflection, but if you want your tint to look like crap bring your car here. read more

I made an appointment in advance for a tint service and was confirmed for 10 AM the next day with a quoted price of $250. When I arrived around 10:05 AM. I was asked if I had an appointment, and after confirming, the staff seemed unaware of it. Another employee explained he had taken my call and scheduled my appointment but then informed me that another car had taken my slot. He said the service would take about two hours, and my car would be next. With only one workstation available, I was left wondering why I needed an appointment if walk-ins could potentially take priority. There was no apology for the inconvenience. Instead, I was told they would either keep my car for the day or reschedule me for the same time the following day, but there was no clear resolution, and the staff member just walked away. Wonderful as always. Had a window broken out and had to have my tint reapplied. First time he did it was about 5 years ago and it still looks great. He applied the new tint and you couldn't tell the difference between the new and old. He uses excellent quality film and he goes down inside the car panel so it doesn't peel after rolling up your windows after a few months. Tricky getting down the driveway, but I have an Audi A8L. They did a great job... I won't take away from that. The car looks great. However, I called the day prior to get a quote of $240 but they ended up charging me $350 when I came in. Prices are still cheaper than most in the area though. Here is why 0 stars. I had lost my wife's card that day and suspected it was in the car. But when I got there, no one mentioned anything about it, even after I paid. I was about to drive off when something told me to ask if they'd seen it. He said yes actually someone did say they found a card... I watched him go talk to a guy that worked at the auto detailing spot next door, pulling the credit card out of his pocket. When it comes to getting your windows tinted, it's not usually something you want to go cheap on. Imperfections can ruin your driving experience. The tiniest of trapped air bubble or lint can be annoying to where it becomes all you notice when driving. However, thanks to Zavala's, you can go cheap & get a pretty good tint job done in the process. I've had several cars tinted here. Not a single problem with any of 'em, & the tint goes all the way to the top of the glass. Something most bargain basement type places don't always do. He's always fast & efficient. Almost too fast! I've seen him knock out a few windows on other cars while I'm waiting for a burrito & the adjoining El Tonayense. Zip, zip, zip done! I can see how errors could be made, but in the end, I've always been happy with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Zavala's to anyone looking to save a few $$$. pro tip: Schedule your appointment for a warm day. You can get some good people watching at the carwash. read more

Wow, did this place epically fail on my tint. I bought a brand new car and against the advice of a friend took my car here to get everything tinted. All the windows had very noticeable imperfections. There were air bubbles, lint and even a small hair; totally unacceptable. The tail lights were spray tinted and came out super dull, scratched and had an orange peel texture. Tinted tail lights are supposed to be shiny and smooth, i can't believe this place even offers to tint tail lights when they do such a horrendous job on them! Well, when I went back to complain and show him the issues I had with his work he agreed to redo the windows. Before he started i stated very clearly that the job needed to be done right, and that previous vehicles I've had done at other shops, were done without any issues. So, when I go back to see how the redo went, I came back to a car with no tint. He said he tried twice to tint the windows, but couldn't do the job the way I wanted and he gave me my money back for the windows. I don't think its too much to ask for tinted windows without a bunch of lint. I don't know how this place managed to get good reviews for its tint jobs, because this is totally an amateur operation. I should have went to straight to Auto Image in San Mateo, they did my cousins Benz with zero imperfections and at a super reasonable price. As for the tail lights, I was lucky to find Amazon Auto Body who was willing to fix them. Zavala's didn't refund me for the tail lights so I ended up coming out of pocket again to have Amazon Auto redo them. Oh well, at least now my tail lights are done right. I would recommend going to Auto Image for your windows, don't waste your time at this place. Zavala's might offer lower prices than other places, but you get what you pay for, which means staring at lint when you look out the window. read more

Great service. Talked to Jose over the phone, who quoted me $180 for the three back windows (+2 smaller windows) of my Golf. He told me they don't take reservations and to try to get to the shop first, so that's what I did. Arrived at 9:45, was first in line, and even though I wasn't parked in the right spot (the little strip mall, if that's what you could call it, is a bit confusing), Jose took my car in first. Said it would take about an hour and a half, ended up taking an hour and 10 min. Staff was great (Jose + 1 other guy, whose name I didn't get). Jose helped me choose the grade of tint I wanted and made good conversation while I waited. Ended up getting everything done for the price Jose quoted, which was 50%+ less expensive than all the other guys I called (who I am also very suspicious were unfairly quoting me because I'm a woman). They take side panels off your car so it has a secure, bubble free fit! They are super thorough with your windows. Unlike some shops that will precut the window film on the window and place it, they take out your side panels so the film reaches well below your door which means there is less chance of bubbling in the future. This is particularly true when it comes to the small triangle window (if you have a 4 door). They take out that window and place the tint while it's off your car! That is some real attention to detail! Bonus points that there is a Mexican food stand right next to their shop so you can eat a burrito and watch them put tints on your car. Minus one star because they didn't wipe my rear window interior so there are some streaks I haven't got around to clean and Yelp doesn't offer half star reductions. Francisco and is partner were very friendly, helpful and patient as my daughter picked the right shade. They did an excellent job of pre-measuring, cutting, applying to the top of all five windows and removing any air bubbles. Ok so the location seemed really sketch. That luckily, was the only flaw. Well, also the owner was kind of awkward during conversation. So i went in for my prius, to get only my rear windows done. The owner was very familiar with my vehicle, and gave me a recommendation since i knew little of window tint. I very much appreciated it. It looks great. While the quality is well above its price range, there was something i valued more. The owner told me it would take an hour and a half. He finished it in less than an hour!
