One of the best workouts you can do to see real results. The trainers are great and will scale the workout to your ability!

His coaches are very professional, hard working, knowledgable, and are machines. Celeste is one of the coaches there and first off, she is in a constant beast mode. This chic puts the dudes to shame! The other coaches are great too (Curtis, Jesse, Alex, I'm sure I am missing a few). The athletes that crush WOD's at CFL are motivating, friendly, and welcoming. Every time I am in San Antonio, I visit every day I can. They also have a smoothie bar, you can purchase supplements, and apparel there too. So you're probably thinking why I only gave it four out of five stars. Well, when I attend a CF box, I expect filacio and to be doing lines of blow off of strippers asses. Unfortunately, this does not happen at CFL, but I have been told my requests will be accommodated. I would even accept doing blow off of hot chic CF athletes, but call me crazy!

Being a garage gym guy I needed to see how I would fare in the daily competitive environment that boxes offer (you just can't get that working out alone or with one friend most of the time). While I have nothing negative to say about any of the gyms I dropped into, I do have much to rave about when it comes to CFL. Facility and equipment: Pretty straightforward here. They have all the equipment you need for a CrossFit gym. They have it and they have a lot of it. You won't be sharing bars or looking for space on a wall, blah, blah.. The facility itself is quite large and this is important when it comes to safety with large groups and the intense nature of CF workouts. Let me add that I've witnessed regular cleaning and maintenance of this facility and equipment. Oh, and there are 4 restroom/showers, a kids room, a separate kitchen area, and an entirely separate room where I would hide when I just wanted to do my own thing and avoid the hard work (thank you Jason). Parking is plentiful. Programming: Never had a bad thing to say about the programming. I am a Physical Therapist (selfless plug) and although I do not adhere to smart practices all the time, I can confidently say that programming here is competent enough that risk from overuse, or consecutive days of doing the same thing, just wasn't present. There was always a dynamic warm up that was relevant to the metcon and just enough strength and skill work to keep you maintained (if you want to be better then you def have to do more but most gyms will tell you that anyway). There is a ton more that I can add however I'm halfway through writing a novel now and I have a few more items to touch on. Coaches: Loved 'em all. Responsible and approachable. I'd say I made some of my best friends at this gym (not biased at all). If you've been part of a box before, you know there is always turnover in this area but I would argue that this is a good thing. New opinions and new flavors help growth. Owners: Jason is a motivator. You'll hate him, you'll love him, whatever. He won't let you quit without a push. He will help you find a new you. He didn't help me because I avoided him most of the time (I'm lazy, and arrogant). In all seriousness, I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am to have met Jason and his family, so I won't. You'd have to drop in and formulate your own opinions. I look forward to training or pcs'ing to San Antonio again for many reasons. These guys are one of those reasons. Hope you lasted through this review, trust me it could have been longer...

It takes some time to find a specialist to fix the bike machine and the rowing machines, and the family membership is sooo reasonable. I would say to corporate, please send us an email or letter to inform us of any price increase and not put the burden on the front desk person to explain herself as to why corporate did not send out notices. Other than that, it is a great place to work out.

This is by far the dirtiest location I've ever been to and it's not even close. No one cleans anything, and it's not even that big of a building. Hair is constantly EVERYWHERE, the shower area is full of it and has been for months. They use the same dirty old rug that is never washed. The exhaust is absolutely caked in dust, looks like it's never once been wiped clean. Dust and dirt is sitting on all the sauna walls. Water filter has been red and needing replacement for quite a while. Vending machine is completely bare. It's like they don't care about this location at all as long as they get your money...which is lovely considering rates just went up a few months ago even if you've been a member and paying the same price during that entire time. Machines are constantly broken and antibacterial wipes are constantly empty. Sad to see what was once an amazing location turn to what it is now. No one at this location cares about the gym or its cleanliness.

The primary reason I stayed as long as I did was because the gym is usually quiet and uncrowded. Over time, however, I noticed increasing maintenance concerns, including equipment that remained out of service for extended periods, recurring air conditioning issues, and overall facility upkeep that seemed to receive less attention than it should. What ultimately prompted this review, however, was my experience with management. After 2.5 years as a paying member, I received a voicemail from the front desk staff informing me that my membership was being canceled because the facility was "not the best fit" for my needs and expectations. While I appreciate being notified of the decision, the explanation itself raised more questions than it answered. There had been no prior conversations with me about concerns, expectations, or issues that would have suggested my membership was at risk. Wanting to better understand the decision, I made multiple attempts to contact management, including phone calls and a direct message. None received a response. The issue was never the decision itself. The issue was the lack of transparency and communication surrounding that decision. After more than two years as a customer, I expected the courtesy of a conversation rather than a vague explanation and a one-sided notification. Customers should feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns, and providing feedback about the services they pay for. Constructive feedback is how businesses improve. When concerns are met with silence rather than dialogue, it creates the impression that feedback is unwelcome rather than valued. No business is perfect. Equipment breaks. Air conditioners fail. Problems happen. What separates a good business from a poor one is how management communicates with customers and addresses concerns. In my experience, this gym fell short in both areas. In the end, PowerMaster Fitness felt less like a customer-focused gym and more like a private clubhouse that happens to sell memberships. If you're looking for a gym where communication, transparency, and customer feedback are valued, you may want to carefully consider your options before committing to a membership here.
