Last year we both went at different times to pick our son up and we were both told that we cant come an hour before school ends it's to early! Makes no sense we were late to our appointments because of this. Even the staff and vanguard were shocked when I told them. This year they changed it i guess and claimed it was never like that well I'm not sure but it happened to us both on separate occasions. Also they called me to pick up my child but my child wasn't even in the office when i got there still had to wait for them to walk up to the front. And they make parents wait outside I understand it's for Stafety but if it's raining or cold who wants to stand in the rain there's nothing to stand under. Really my problem is with the office staff especially the one who I'm assuming is the receptionist she's so rude the one with the long black hair. I'm really considering not returning my student next year I don't want to deal with rude staff.

Luckily I was a proactive parent and found out before the letter went out. Appealed with Stanislaus County of Education. They stated this is ILLEGAL! Decision was over turned but now I will not send my daughter to a school who I know will not help her succeed in the education she needs. All because the County Board of Directors called out Kim for her mistake. Please Parents BEWARE!

My experience with Bella Vista Christian Academy was beyond disappointing, and I ultimately removed…read moremy children because of it. The overall environment felt negative and, at times, openly unkind. I witnessed staff speaking to students in ways that were belittling and inappropriate. In one instance, a teacher used name-calling toward students--something that should never happen in any school, especially one that claims to reflect Christian values. Administration was equally frustrating. Concerns from both parents and students were consistently dismissed rather than addressed. Instead of feeling heard, I felt brushed off and judged. During a very difficult time in my personal life, I expected neutrality and professionalism, but instead experienced what felt like bias and a lack of basic understanding. Leadership was particularly concerning. While interactions could appear polite on the surface, the follow-through told a very different story. Decisions felt inconsistent and unfair, making it hard to trust the administration at all. The front office experience made things even worse. Shannon, who is often the first point of contact, was repeatedly rude and unprofessional in my interactions. The tone was unwelcoming and dismissive, which sets a terrible example for both families and students. First impressions matter, and in this case, they reflected a much deeper problem within the school culture. To be fair, not every staff member reflects this environment--Mrs. Quilcy stands out as kind, patient, and genuinely supportive of students. She deserves recognition for the way she treats families. Unfortunately, one positive example does not outweigh the broader issues. For a school that promotes faith and character, the lack of compassion, professionalism, and willingness to listen was deeply disappointing. Writing this while sitting in my car waiting for my child to get off school. Moving here and being…read morethe one in our school district, my child can bike/walk to school conveniently and with children around our neighborhood. I can say that we have a positive experience with my child's teacher and she really do paid attention to each and everyone of her students. She responds to every questions and concerns that I had with my child and the lessons she had, and that is a big plus (communication wise) between a parent and the teacher. My child enjoyed this school (coming from an unorganized, poorly ran school system in AZ).

I initially decided to send my kids here because my friends sent their kids here and only had glowing things to say about it, and I'm so glad I followed them! The maestras/teachers are wonderful, experienced, and patient. The owner, Maestra Ana, is on top of everything, helpful, and communicative. The school is a Spanish immersion school which i was drawn to. My kids have learned a lot of Spanish since they started, and they've learned so much, and have fun doing it. They have circle time, a playground in back, and a great system in place. They also provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. The environment is welcoming, and I feel confident that my kids are safe and in an environment where they will thrive. They also post regular photos and videos of your kids in a school app so that you can see how your kids are doing throughout the day. That's been great for me since I was a bit concerned about their transition from home to a preschool. Also, if you're planning for your kids to joint the dual immersion program at Von Renner, then having them start at Primeros Pasos is great idea to give them a head start. They may also be labeled as bilingual by the time they test for Von renner, and have a better chance of getting in. I heard the dual immersion program is very competitive. The TK program at school is only in English, so that's something else to consider. Lastly, the school accepts CAPP, which is a program by the county that helps with the cost of care, so be sure to ask Ana about it if cost is an issue - because there's help if it is.
