Even though I don't live in the neighborhood anymore, I still come here because they do the best fades and line work and I like to stay looking clean and fresh. When you walk into a barbershop you expect one thing, a good haircut. Everything after that is extra I thought. Well, walking into Kingdom you're lucky if you get a working chair. I sat down and the barber asked me not to lean back because the chair was broken and it would fall backwards. If your tools to the job doesn't work how can you be efficient? I thought, oh boy here we go. I proceeded to tell him what I wanted and he as most barbers said I got it. The haircutting part was pretty straightforward except when I told him not too go to deep on the forehead hairline, he said I got this I'm a master barber. If I wasn't in the middle of a cut I would have definitely walked out at this point. How dare you not listen to your customer. Just dumb. The staff is pretty as ease but maybe too much at ease. They discussed each others family business right out in the open as if I was part of the family. They intentionally made another young customer feel awkward when he arrived for his appointment, another barber battered him to get his haircut with him instead of waiting for his appointment. The kid didn't know how to respond. The jokes started while the kid sat and waited for his appointment, no respect for customers. I tend to get my haircut twice a month at $20 a pop plus a $5 to $10 tip depending on the experience. I don't think these guys understand that $600 plus per year just walked out. Maybe one day they will understand business 101. read more

DO NOT TRUST THESE MEN WITH YOUR HEAD Get ready to have your hair ruined. I walked in and paid for a $40 taper and lineup. My lineup was crooked and my fade looked different on both sides of my head. They cater to regulars, My haircut was speed through in just 2 minutes. That last sentence is not a joke, TWO MINUTES! Come here and overpay a "barber" to FUCK your shit up. LaRue is my dude and I'm hoping this review will bring him more business. I used to live in WA and gotten my haircut from every barbershop around the South Seattle area. Not saying there are bad barbers in WA, it's just not 100 percent satisfaction. I have A LOT of thick Asian hair, and I know how difficult that is. But when I was in WA, I always see myself with some single, long strand hair. The reason why I am more satisfied with LaRue then others is because he understand my hair type. He knows that it is super thick and it's hard to get every single hair (even in a fade). He would go over more than a few times. The line-up is straight and on point. I usually get the low fade with a 2, and it is as good as it gets. I'm not a big fan of chain stores and big corporations, so it was really good supporting somebody local and working hard. It's a small shop for two with a huge flat screen. Just like what a typical barber shop, a lot of conversations. What really set this place apart is how people would come in just to say hi. It makes everyone feels welcome. Overall, LaRue is legit and I suggest everyone to him. But beware, he does display some fake sneakers. Hopefully he doesn't read yelp! Okay I will admit I judged them based on one bad experience in which the persons reasoning could have dealt with their family or such. I recommend anyone in need of a great hair cut to go here first and save your time. Each of the guys in this location provide excellent and impeccable customer service. The other barber shops we stopped at were too busy to take him which is understandable but there's a right and a wrong way to turn down a customer. i'm pretty sure LaRue is the truth. this guy knows how to cut and line up like no other. asian hair, black people hair, white people hair, he can do it all. shop is tiny and i recommend calling and making an appointment because once people start coming in you might have to wait awhile.. but sooo worth it. b looked so fine! myyy guy. what else, they can pretty much do anything.. b got a shaved head fade with a line up that was soooo on point. kingdom kutz also does old school hot towel razor shaves. If I could give 0 stars I would. I called yesterday and made an appointment for today (Sunday) at 12:30pm. Drove 30 minutes and showed up a few minutes early to find a locked door. Called the shop number numerous times with no answer. Left the area and got something to eat. Called back around 1:00pm and someone answered only to tell me that he's only cutting a few people that he knows today and then he's gone. Couldn't tell me who I made the appointment with but did let me know that he had no plans on accommodating me. The sign on the door says they do appointments for Sunday's and Monday's. So me having an appointment was not far fetched. Ended up going to another barbershop who treated me extremely nice. So much for trying to support a local black business. read more

I went in with an appointment in need of a kut. As soon as Rico was done with his client he got me right in. I wasn't there 10 min before I got in a chair. It hasn't been 24 hours and I'm getting nonstop compliments on my hair. While it's kinda expected from a professional barber I will say I was nonetheless satisfied with my kut. In addition to that these are funny young men with lots of realistic things to talk about. If you want a good laugh while you get a haircut here is the place to do it. Rico is the man! I first came in having just had the most jacked up hair cut of my life at a different barber shop near by. I found Kingdom Cuts on Yelp and went in asking if someone could try and fix what I had going on up top. Rico was able to undo the damage just done elsewhere and lined me up perfectly.
