I say this all the time, this school quite literally saved my son Long story short, I originally sent my son to a preschool that was highly recommended by many of my students' parents over the years. However, with staff changes during Covid, my experience there was less than pleasant and it took a hard toll on my son's confidence. He was always afraid to express himself, make eye contact with the teacher, and wasn't himself.. I came to WUMP desperately trying to find another school to switch him out to (which was also highly recommended by some friends). Hearing about my son's current situation Miss Yonni (the director) did everything in her power to get me over to WUMP as soon as possible. My son was greeted here with SO much love and reassurance-- from the first day to graduation he had the most loving teachers ever. He regained his confidence again, felt comfortable to open up, and just blossomed here. I owe so much of who he is today to this wonderful preschool and I'm forever indebted to them My second child is currently finishing her final year here and I'm beyond sad she will be leaving! Between both my kids, they have had the best experience in almost all of the teachers' classes here. They love my children like their own and are so good at what they do! I'm an educator myself for many years, so I can confidently say that the teachers at WUMP are truly top of the line. Trust me, you won't be disappointed! My son went into public school kinder and was well above the level of proficiency expected for a kindergartner! In fact, if not for a change in my work arrangements she AND her old sister would be attending this location for their current after school care. My daughter really blossomed academically and socially here with teachers Ms. Berenice, Ms. Karina, Ms. Maria, Ms. Alexis and Mr. Giovanni to just name a few. The executive director, Ms. Tracy, is very friendly, helpful and approachable. I was really pleased with the focus on learning that was balanced by creative and active play along with a lot of games, arts and physical activity. I still get teared up when I recall the sweet Mothers Day bunch and performance that they learned and memorized under the guidance of their teachers! They offer several activities, healthy snacks and field trips. It's an older facility that could use some updating but for Los Angeles or Orange County commuting parents it is in a good location off the 57 freeway near the 60 & 10 freeway merges. When we came to tour kiddie academy, it just was such a different welcoming vibe compared to all the other schools we toured. Right away we knew we wanted her here and luckily we were accepted for the summer ! Although it was hard for her during drop offs (cried almost everyday) she was always happy coming home and telling us how much fun she had. All the staffs were friendly.
