I was going through the roughest period of my life and they made it a thousand times worse. I hope no child has to go through that. Miramontes, Villa, Canales, and Schreiber. Daily fights occur between both boys and girls. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drugs are a common place at Alvarado Intermediate School. Not much justice for the victims. No substantial consequences for the criminals. Bullying is a part of the culture. Rarely do the offenders receive more than a, "talking to" for their offences. Pay the money and go to a private school or opt to Ybarra or Oswalt. You won't regret it.

Unfortunately, our overall impression of the school and several other staff members was disappointing. One experience that really stood out involved a teacher named Esther, who teaches the 4-5-year-old class. While she may appear friendly at first, our experience with her was very different. One morning, my wife was holding the security gate open for an elderly grandfather who was walking into the preschool. Instead of appreciating the situation, Esther immediately yelled at my wife to close the gate and began lecturing her. Even after my wife explained that she was simply helping an elderly person enter safely, Esther continued to scold her and insisted that the grandfather could open the gate himself. We found her response unnecessarily harsh and lacking basic compassion and professionalism. Another concern was the school's annual Jogathon fundraiser. Families are encouraged to donate money, and children who participate receive a special T-shirt. Staff members then visit the classrooms to celebrate with those children by handing out small toys and snacks. We chose not to participate because we already pay significant tuition and did not feel obligated to make an additional donation. Later, the school sent parents a video of the celebration. Watching it was heartbreaking. My daughter was one of the children without the fundraiser shirt, and she was left standing in the back while the other children celebrated together. She was essentially separated from the group because we didn't donate. Regardless of the purpose of the fundraiser, I don't believe young children should ever be singled out or excluded based on whether their parents contribute financially. The children have no control over those decisions, and schools should make every effort to ensure all students feel included. I'm glad we ultimately decided to move our daughter to another school. While we appreciated her classroom teacher, our overall experience left us disappointed, and I would not recommend this preschool based on what our family experienced.

We were brand new to Rowland Heights and didn't know our way around but we live VERY close to the school, so I had my daughter walk home on her first day because of my work schedule. Well, she got lost. The school responded immediately when I showed up at their office. Mrs. Kim, and a P.E. teacher who remembered my daughter (because she looks different than every other student) got in a car to search and the assistant principal called the district safety officer, who drove around in search. Everyone in the office was concerned and involved. Mrs. Kim was the one who found her because she noticed her curly hair. She called me right away. It was a very happy ending and I felt like the school really went above and beyond to help me find my kid. Other than that, we have had a great school year here. I like the informational calls from the principal and other faculty. They really care and it shows.

Payment, check in/out, and communication are all done through Brightwheel (an app) and it's such a smooth process. Even though it's a bit modern, my in-laws (that are a bit older and have a harder time with technology) are still able use the app to pick up my daughter and enjoy the occasional pictures and videos that are sent through there. My daughter doesn't really take to strangers well. She did have an adjustment period but has soon blossomed in the infant classroom and loves her teachers. The teachers are caring and informative and we are so pleased with the kind of care they provide our daughter. And we know she's not the easiest baby. They have been able to help our child make huge progress with nap time and even with playing with other kids. I truly feel her personality has blossomed due to the work the infant room teachers put into our daughter. She always comes home happy from the day. The infant room itself (as well as the other rooms we toured in the facility) are also clean and does not have a smell. We toured other facilities where the smell was so strong it stayed with me the rest of the day and was actually one of the deciding factors in choosing CCs. My daughter also has an egg and milk allergy. They assigned high chair specifically for her and are always on the look out for any reactions from food. She recently outgrew her milk allergy but not the egg. During the recent mother's day Muffins with Mom's event, they provided a special vegan muffin for her so she can enjoy the event with me. The teacher running the event wasn't my daughter's regular teacher, but she recognized my daughter anyway and knew to offer me the vegan muffin. I was so touched by this gesture. We haven't had experience with the older classrooms, but have toured them and are rest assured my daughter will grow up well cared for and well educated here at CCs. We are excited for her to learn and grow here. We are so pleased with our experience that we've already reserved our spot for our next baby due in a few months. We highly recommend this daycare center and will recommend it to anyone look for care in the area.

The owner didn't take responsibility for the lack of monitoring of the kids and put the blame on my toddler for getting out of a locked gate. Imagine that. A 2 yr old I guess can pick locks! Thank God for the good samaritans that spotted the boys and tried to find out where they belonged and called police. YOU DO NOT BLAME A 2 yr OLD FOR NOT BEING WATCHED AT A DAYCARE!!!! She also helped my son become more independent with eating, which was something he really needed encouragement in. In the afternoons, when Ms. Elin left, other wonderful teachers stepped in to provide care -- Ms. Silvia, Ms. Christine, Ms. Mary, Ms. Marie and Ms. Nour. My son knows and loves them all. When I once asked my son if there was any teacher he liked the least, his answer was, "no," which says it all!) Last but certainly not least, Ms. Virgine is an incredible director. My son was both a Covid baby (super shy) and a preemie, so I had extra concerns as a first-time mom. One of the main reasons I chose LPG was the smaller class sizes, so he wouldn't be overwhelmed. I was nervous at first, but my worries quickly faded as I watched him grow and thrive. By the time he graduated, he not only had friends in his own class but also knew the names of kids from other classes. My experience left me feeling that my concerns were not taken seriously and that staff were more focused on defending one another than addressing legitimate questions about my child's safety.
