Unfortunately, our overall impression of the school and several other staff members was disappointing. One experience that really stood out involved a teacher named Esther, who teaches the 4-5-year-old class. While she may appear friendly at first, our experience with her was very different. One morning, my wife was holding the security gate open for an elderly grandfather who was walking into the preschool. Instead of appreciating the situation, Esther immediately yelled at my wife to close the gate and began lecturing her. Even after my wife explained that she was simply helping an elderly person enter safely, Esther continued to scold her and insisted that the grandfather could open the gate himself. We found her response unnecessarily harsh and lacking basic compassion and professionalism. Another concern was the school's annual Jogathon fundraiser. Families are encouraged to donate money, and children who participate receive a special T-shirt. Staff members then visit the classrooms to celebrate with those children by handing out small toys and snacks. We chose not to participate because we already pay significant tuition and did not feel obligated to make an additional donation. Later, the school sent parents a video of the celebration. Watching it was heartbreaking. My daughter was one of the children without the fundraiser shirt, and she was left standing in the back while the other children celebrated together. She was essentially separated from the group because we didn't donate. Regardless of the purpose of the fundraiser, I don't believe young children should ever be singled out or excluded based on whether their parents contribute financially. The children have no control over those decisions, and schools should make every effort to ensure all students feel included. I'm glad we ultimately decided to move our daughter to another school. While we appreciated her classroom teacher, our overall experience left us disappointed, and I would not recommend this preschool based on what our family experienced.

Her response is forever imprinted in my memory. She told me I was overreacting. What kind of adult has that type of reaction to a CHILD telling them that they were getting mistreated. On top of that, they are quick to point fingers, accuse students for being "bad", and not look into the students' situation at home. I was going through the roughest period of my life and they made it a thousand times worse. I hope no child has to go through that. Miramontes, Villa, Canales, and Schreiber. This school can get pretty scary and unsafe. Dropping off in the morning is a nightmare. Leave early and be prepared to wait. Major traffic and unsafe driving. Daily fights occur between both boys and girls. Smoking, vaping, alcohol and drugs are a common place at Alvarado Intermediate School. Not much justice for the victims. No substantial consequences for the criminals. Bullying is a part of the culture. Rarely do the offenders receive more than a, "talking to" for their offences. Pay the money and go to a private school or opt to Ybarra or Oswalt. You won't regret it.

She creates a warm and welcoming environment where my girls feel safe and supported. One thing we especially appreciate is her excellent communication with us. Ms. Ana is very responsive through WeChat; she provides us peace of mind when we have any questions regarding our kids. Ms Shiela was excellent in introducing both my daughters to writing/math/reading at the beginning of the year. She was able to identify different needs for each of my daughters and created a plan for us to follow at home to reinforce what was being taught at school. The time I had with Ms Shiela in the teacher parent meetings showed me that she really cared about her students and treated them as if they were her own. I am so impressed with my daughters' growth throughout the year; seeing the work they did in class and also the activities they have and are doing now at home is just amazing. We are so grateful to have had Ms. Ana and Ms. Shiela take care of and teach our kids. Ms Ana and Ms Shiela's kindness, patience, and dedication are qualities that every parent hopes to encounter on the first day of school.

Ms. Haley is the teacher who helped my daughter achieve a breakthrough in learning her letter sounds and number fundamentals. She is energetic, creative, and makes learning so much fun that even my husband and I wish we could be students in her class! She has a special gift for challenging each child while supporting them in their own unique way. Homework became a positive part of our routine because she always made sure my daughter was learning, growing, and being appropriately challenged. Her curriculum and classroom activities are engaging, thoughtful, and fun. Simply put, she is truly one of the best teachers we have ever met. Ms. Emily is the most patient and loving teacher. She has such a gentle and effective way of teaching discipline, manners, and positive behavior. Rather than simply telling children what not to do, she helps them understand right from wrong in a caring and respectful way. Her kindness and creativity shine through in everything she does. Ms. Andrea has left a lasting impression on our family. Thanks to her, our household will forever know how to sing the table manners song! She has a wonderful ability to turn lessons and nursery rhymes into daily habits that children can carry with them beyond the classroom. Together, these teachers create the perfect balance of nurturing, encouragement, structure, and learning. They have built an environment where children can thrive and grow at their own pace while feeling loved and supported every step of the way. We will miss them so much and already look forward to our second child having the opportunity to learn from them one day. We also cannot forget Room 2 and the amazing Ms. Cecilia, Ms. Ellie, and Ms. Griselda. They were my daughter's very first teachers and helped her learn boundaries, social skills, and independence while showering her with love and care. Anyone who works with two-year-olds deserves special recognition, and these teachers have endless patience and dedication. They are simply the best. We also cannot forget about Ms Reyna! She was the one providing comfort to during her first few weeks of transitioning. Our daughter has truly thrived here and has learned so much. We are incredibly grateful for all of these wonderful teachers and the impact they have had on our family. You simply can't go wrong with any of them!

I will say I have had my complaints about and with the school, but now with "head of school" gone I feel comfortable sending my child back next year. The previous "head of school" (Mr. Emmanuel Lacoste) seemed like a dictator and I was unsure about sending my daughter there next year. However, he recently abruptly resigned and I have noticed the administration moving towards positive change. The majority of the staff are very nice and always saying hello. I have had my complaints with the school regarding communication which have been addressed appropriately. The school now has provided better communication and they seem more willing to hear concerns. Previously I emailed the head of school and never received a response. I called many times and spoke to the head of school one time and asked to meet with him. He assured me I could walk into his office anytime. The next day I went to try to meet with him, and he was unable to meet with me. I believe the school is headed in a positive direction and I plan to send both of my daughters there in the future. To those reading these reviews... there are evident fake reviews by people who find it necessary to make fake accounts and try to hide behind a negative review. I'd urge you to ask a parent about their experience rather than just read a review from someone who may be a previous parent or ex employee.

I attempted to contact them multiple times through phone calls/ emails, with no answers/ replied. If I showed up in person, sometimes someone buzzed me in to the office, sometimes no one in the office and I had to try another time. Good thing my kids already older and they can communicate things with me. But I will not consider this school for regular attendance based on gap of communication among staff, educators and parents. It feels that parents concerns are not appreciated. The issue that I had was class changes, updating pick up person form. Had to do it multiple times and still not updated. So if you enroll your kids in summer school, pick your classes wisely. My daughter accidentally picked 3 science classes back to back and the school did not make any attempt to help us to change it until the next two days. One of this science class, my daughter was the only student there. For third week of summer school, my daughter chose spanish class as her last class of the day, and she was enrolled to something else.
