This is a place with good food (slightly overpriced) and fast, friendly service. The food here is fairly good but like I said a little overpriced for what you're getting; however, I think that's just Dublin for you. The fish of the fish and chips' dish is huge but cooked thoroughly and cooked right. The seafood chowder contains large chunks of seafood. My favorite was the club. After a few days of heavy Irish food, it was nice to settle down with a sandwich. My son ordered a cheeseburger and it came out right away without us having to ask, which is nice for parents whose goal is just to get something into their hangry kid's stomach. Their seating area is medium in size but they have both indoor and outdoor seating (for outdoor seating it appears as if they provide blankets if needed). The interior reminds me of a type of down home, American restaurant that all elderly people visit on Sundays after church, very simple and inviting. Overall, not a bad place. Good food but a little overpriced. Enjoy.

Fish and chips and a fish burger

You know that late night after having three Guinness and being on a red eye you are dying for a meal and sleep but since your hotel was across kingfisher you had to walk in and grab take out so you can indulge in some fish and chips and crash onto your bed ? Yeah that was one of those nights. Surprised that it was under 20 euros for fish and chips and a fish burger; you could have told me 30 euros and I would have paid anyways. After the order was sitting in the bag as I walk across the street, took a shower I expected the food to be soggy but surpassingly the fish and chips were crunchy good. Generous portion of a fish fillet and burger was lovely. Would recommend.

We visited here because we were told they have the best fish and chips. The fish and chips were fine, but didn't seem like there was anything about them that made them the "best". We really enjoyed the burger, it was nice and juicy. For dessert, I got a brownie and I really enjoyed that. The service was also good and sitting outside was nice. The outdoor seating is in a covered area.

My anaconda don't, my anaconda don't My anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun... DAAAAAYUM Nicki brought Sir Mix-a-lot back!!! And that's what I was singin' when I did take away of their fish'n'chips. Why? They served me a ginormous piece of fish! But lets rewind that track. So, I was merely walking down the street and noticed how lovely the dining area looked from outside the window. A bit further down, I noticed two other doors and a tiny room with a menu board. The room was intended for quick 'take-away' orders obviously. As I ordered, the entire staff was staring at me like 'what's this guy gonna order'. Well, I asked about the Smoked Fish of the Day (€6.50) and it was either haddock or mackerel. Gross, mackerel... I chose the fatter haddock fish. Dipped in batter and into the deep fryer it went! When ready, I believe it was the manager that asked me if I wanted malt and salt added. Tartar, lemon, etc. But of course, I replied! She seemed to be in good spirits, and smiled the entire time while prepping my box. When I got home, I opened the box and was like HOLY COWABUNGA! Even sitting on top of the chips, this piece nearly fit the entire box. The chips I didn't really care so much about, but they were decent enough. As for the smoked haddock, well it's obvious that the smoke was probably just added to the batter but I totally enjoyed it. The outside golden and crispy. The inside, hot and soft, and not fishy smelling at all. But that's probably because of the malt vinegar killing the smell. I mean for only €6.50, mmm mmm, I like big cuts and I cannot lie!

Excellent breakfast place. You get so much for so little €€! We all had the porridge and I loved it. We also had scones, toast and fruit! It was a huge hearty meal. My only complaint is that they should offer almond or soy milk for lactose intolerant people. My friend really struggled with only having milk as an option for her porridge. Other than that, if you're on a budget, come here for breakfast!

Liked it so much we ate here twice in 3 days! We did breakfast/lunch in the sit down area upon arriving in Dublin. The All Day Breakfast was more food than I could eat in 1 sitting. The sausages were hood, black and white pudding was good and interesting (first time!) and coffee was good. Friend had a sandwich that looked really good. The second time we did take out from the little hallway in the corner. They packed us all up to take our food back to our hotel. The portions of chips (fries) are HUGE- we got 2 but really only needed 1. I had the Haddock- it was delicious- moist, nice crunchy breading even after traveling back to hotel. We did the curry and garlic fries. Both were very good, but very different. The curry was nice and warm- pretty heavy. The garlic was lighter- the sauce was cold, but nice on hot chips. Friend had chicken burger loaded up with "salad" and ketchup and mayo. He says it was excellent, chicken breast was moist. You should definitely check this place out!

Walked in and got a seat right away, we beat the rush so that was awesome. The waitstaff was amazing and so personable. Everything we had was phenomenal! Highly recommend for a family friendly dinner in this lovely city!

Tried the kingfisher for the first time yesterday and it was pretty good I have to say! I'd heard a lot of good things and wanted to see if the small chipper lived up to its reputation. I ordered a smoke cod and curry chips and wasn't disappointed with the food at all. It was incredibly fresh and I saw the cod being battered and deep fried as I waited. The chips weren't as full as they could have been and it was quite expensive at €10.40 but other than that I had absolutely no issues with the place! Within half an hour of ordering I was back in work demolishing my small feast.

Billed as the best fish and chips in Ireland. Sadly far from the best. In fact it was very average at best. The fish was pretty tasteless as were the mushy peas. The chips were also pretty bland. Presentation was not exactly appetizing. The only thing going for it is the batter was crispy. #maneklady #manekeats #manektravels

The outside of this restaurant proudly displays a sign that says Dublin's best fish and chips and while I cannot say I have tried all the fish and chips in town I doubt that I would find any that are better tasting than the codfish fish and chips that I had for lunch. The Kingfisher epitomizes the City of Dublin in that it is a friendly place where people congregate to have a good meal and a good time. This is just a terrific little restaurant where people conduct business over lunch or where locals have a traditional Irish breakfast with friends. It is clear that the locals love this place. If you visit the Kingfisher ask to sit at a table where Kamal "The Moroccan Waiter" is serving. Kamal is attentive and friendly and if you need directions to a landmark Kamal will get you there. If I lived in this town I would dine here regularly just to say hello to Kamal.

The space is rather small, as most coffee shops are, and the prices are a bit up there, but all the coffee they make holds its own against some of the best- no Starbucks quality here- and the food is amazing. Speaking of, if you haven't tried their hotcakes slathered with berries, compote, and some of the most decadent whipped cream you've ever tasted, you haven't lived life to the fullest. It was so sweet, it was almost too much for me to finish, but I won't complain about such a delicious sugar rush this early in the morning. If you're not the "dessert for breakfast" type, they also have your typical avocado toast- don't ask me why that's a thing here, too- eggs, breakfast meats, and of course, porridge. Or, if you're not the breakfast type, they do have some bomb-looking pastries available all day, every day, including vegan options. These guys must also be pretty well-established given that they have merch available for purchase, on top of their perishables. And really, the coffee here is amazeballs. If you come for nothing else, come for that.

The cafe is very pretty, with plenty of different art pieces and decor hanging on the walls and cool furniture. It's quite small inside, with maybe a little more than 10 tables. If it's nice, you can also opt to sit on the small patio. It was a bit chilly when we were in the city, so we decided to sit inside. They have a small menu - you get to choose from a few variations of the Irish breakfast, scones, and breakfast sandwiches. My friend and I both got bacon breakfast sandwiches with the hashbrown and split a plain scone with butter and jam. We were both surprised at how large the scone was and were glad we ended up just sharing one. Even between the both of us we couldn't finish it. The breakfast sandwich was rather large as well and very filling - it hit the spot perfectly! We also got lattes which did the trick of waking us right up! The service seemed very rushed and scattered, but honestly we didn't really mind. We got our food very quickly, so we were in a great mood and left with happy bellies. I came in pretty early at 10am and there was no one there, yet (more crowds came in shortly after). It was solely manned by one cook in the open kitchen, and one host/server. Since this was my first meal in Dublin, I obviously opted for the best of the best, the goliath of breakfasts, if you will. The Mega Irish breakfast (€9.90) came with 2 over-medium eggs, 2 sausages, 2 slices of bacon, 2 hash browns, 2 black pudding thingies (sorry I'm such an ignorant American...), half a tomato, cup of beans, and 4 slices of toast. Wow. I somehow managed to finish the whole thing, and mega it was. I skipped lunch due to the sheer amount of food. The highlight was the sausage - they were plump, super juicy and very flavorful. The coffee(€2.50) which I always drink black, was also pretty good. The cost was so reasonable given the sheer amount of food. The restaurant itself is pretty artsy (ha), with some nice work on the walls and an eclectic hodge podge of furniture. Definitely check out if you're staying nearby!

I walked in on a Wednesday morning, right as they opened at 9am, and was seated immediately. The waitress came over with a menu and gave me plenty of time to look it over. She was very courteous and pleasant, checking in throughout my time there, never hovering. For breakfast, I ordered an Americano, a ginger scone, and their Irish Oat Porridge - Classic. Their porridge is organic oats made with milk and with ordering it as "Classic", it was served with cream and honey. Starting with the ginger scone, this was another case of a perfectly baked scone - Crispy, golden exterior with a moist, buttery interior. The flavor of ginger was perfectly balanced and the raisins inside were a nice supplement to the scone. The porridge was really good, I loved the creaminess of it! Both did a nice job of filling me up and setting me up for the day of walking to come. Funny enough, around 3:30pm, I stopped here again to grab a mid-afternoon treat and ordered the chocolate and hazelnut Babka, their soft bun filled with chocolate and toasted hazelnuts. This pastry was crazy tasty! A slightly crispy exterior with a croissant-like inside chocked full of chocolate and those toasted hazelnuts. This was so rich and truly decadent.
