We played for 2hrs and well worth it. This mini golf is extremely clean and well managed. The employee was sweeping rocks and trimming plants while we played. The turf is pristine on all 36 holes. This yelp page said temporarily closed, but it was open this past weekend! While doing a lap around the local shops and beaches, we saw this cool mini golf course. Despite being a holiday weekend, it wasn't super busy so we gave it a go! It's small, but they utilize the space really well. A bit dated but that's part of its charm. Wasn't too expensive either, which is nice. This is a fun way to pass a bit of time, if you are in the area! Especially great for families. read more

Cute little mini golf spot for our family! We didn't have reservations, just walked up and was able to get a full round for our family. There are TWO course options and we chose the one that was more shaded. Kids had a BLAST and we loved the cute holes! Loved that there were lots of seating options between holes, trash cans and fun visually pleasing holes for the family. The music was great - a mixture of pop, oldies, motown and other random artists. Restrooms were clean and easy to get to! You can even choose the golf ball you want to use (cute designs available including Pokemon, Star Wars, Sports themes etc). Kings Beach Miniature Golf is a unique find and I love miniature golf. I had a friend flying into town and I wanted to take her to Kings Beach to see Lake Tahoe. So, we needed to find another thing to do after looking at the lake. I happened upon Kings Beach Miniature Golf from a search on Yelp. Holy smokes... This place is awesome. The price is just right and very reasonable. I think what set them apart for me is the fact they actually close during the winter. They have many mechanical components that they don't want winter weather to cause damage to. Many of their mechanical features ACTUALLY work! I really enjoyed the creativity of the holes too. Someone working the front desk also told us that the golf 'greens' and torn up every year, also to prevent weather damage. I loved the fact we all got to pick the color of our golf balls. There are even some fun-painted golf balls to choose from! This was a very fun miniature golf place. If your looking to kills some time then look no more! I believe there are two different courses, I stopped at the end of our holes. Old fashioned family fun at its finest. I was impressed with how they've preserved most of their statues. Still looks old timey, I like that feel for some reason. It's right off the main road so hold those babies close. This is so run down. I used to live in New York in the 90s, and that looks like the Garden of Eden compared to this. The staff are just horrible people who lack respect for the customers and do not take pride in themselves, as you can tell by their attitude and overall vibe. They say they're closed when they clearly weren't. The staff just couldn't be bothered to do their simple and easy job. The course just looks like it's falling apart. It's giving south side Chicago. I recommend just driving right past this place and never looking back ever. The owner will probably hunt you down as he did with bob. RUN AWAY NOW! read more

Wrapped up our Sunday Funday with a showdown of mini golf at this unique 63 year family operated, two 19-hole courses set amongst beautiful trees in Kings Beach. Staff greeted us immediately with walking us through the different pricing options with prices easy on the pocket book at $9pp for 19-holes and the second round an additional $5, they even had an option to Super Size for an extra $3 bucks to play all 38 holes - now that's a GREAT deal! or you can opt for a day pass of $20 to play as many rounds during the day as you like. They also asked us which FUN golf ball we would like to select as they have one of the most crazyyy, fun selections we have ever seen. We chose our FUN golf ball, Super Sized of course and the competition between the hubby and I was on LOL Each hole offered fun different ways to try to get your golf ball in and there were trivia throughout the property on golf, Tahoe, and facts that I won't give away for your trip to the course. We truly enjoyed the nostalgia of the different designs on the course, that some dated back to the late 50s, and the music played that kept us smiling ear to ear as me putted our way through our game. We were excited to see what was around at the next turn for trivia or fun fact and if we could get a hole in one, less strokes than the other person or figure out the fun way to putt per the different instructions. Much better then expected. The place looks fresh and new. The green was redone this year and looks and feels brand new. This was our first time here. We've seen it in passing many times. The gal at the booth was very friendly and knowledgeable. We choose one game. It took about an hour. I could have seen us easily play both courses. The course we did was the one on the left, lake course, I think. It was fun. After spending the day at the driving range I was prepared to hit a straight ball. I was happily surprised at how well I did and how much fun we had. We were a party of 2. This course has many of the original holes dating back many years. The signs about trivia are cute and conversational. I highly recommend coming here and trying something new on your trip to Kings Beach. read more

A family day of miniature golfing, why not! We wanted to check out Kings Beach and this place was across the street from the lake. We've decided to let the kiddies play while my Husband and I tried to remain in the shade on a hot day. $9 per person to play, not bad. All 3 of my kids enjoyed it! Got in a few laughs, the kids had a blast! Luckily, the courses were really well shaded with all the trees around us. It kept us cool while we enjoyed the kiddies go at it trying to figure out each course and the best method to get the ball in the hole. These courses were small, perfect for little one's first time at golfing, I know my 2 year old had fun! The holes are quirky and just challenging enough for kids, and they have some fun suggestions on ways to make the holes more "extreme." They offer you a choice of patterned golf balls to play with, and the holes are great- some of them are the original design from the 60s, giving the place a retro feel. Ive been coming to this mini golf since 2008 and I love it it's a cute family friendly place with friendly people and I just love it , it feels like home , I wish they had like a regulars card cause we go so often in the summer ! They're usually open until 10 I think which is good they have two courses that are fun , definitely try it out ! read more

I loved everything about this place! I was taking my granddaughters and they were not too excited. The young lady working the desk was kind and patient as we chose our balls. We chose the shady course (it was a hot day for Tahoe) and after explaining what to do we started playing. Soon both girls were having the time of their lives. The 5 year old even got a hole in one on a difficult hole! We took pictures throughout the course as they had some really fun attractions and displays. I loved the vintage holes that they kept on the course. I highly recommend this golf course to anyone. read more

It was nice to have a quick date spot to go to before finishing our evening at dinner--and I'm not saying I didn't have a good time. I had lots of fun. But it was essentially a free for all back there. Families with lots of kids are totally fine, but they were all over the place. No one had masks on, which makes me nervous in this current pandemic. If you're worried, I'd say don't come. We would wait our turn for the next hole and felt like we were moving at a decent pace, but kids would jump in and take over and the parents were far behind or too distracted to ask them to wait. It was annoying. I get that mini golf is a really popular thing for the kids, but I wish they would teach them some manners! Signage about keeping your distance and having a protocol of waiting would help, I think. read more

Our family absolutely loves this place. Somehow, on a tiny piece of prime property in central Kings Beach, they fit two 18-hole miniature golf courses! Each hole is a work of art--many of them going back to when the place opened in 1957. No cheesy plastic stuff here: all wood, stone and repurposed materials made by hand. Kids get to pick their ball: from the eyeball to the money ball!! They also play a great soundtrack with Caddyshack soundtrack, Blues Brothers, etc. A great way to break up the summer beach visits. read more

This is a fun course & we had a good time. BUT...they only accept cash. That was very inconvenient. The reason for the 2 stars is the customer service. We noticed the man working there going & sitting near one of the little boys in our party & quietly reprimanding him for something with his club. We thought that seemed a little odd. At the end of the course, we wanted to take a group picture & he volunteered to take the picture for us & directed us to a well-lit spot. I was COMPLETELY unamused when I found his picture on my phone. In fact, I was pretty creeped out & confused because I wasn't sure who it was/how it got in my camera roll. What a sweet little place. The two courses were built by hand almost fifty years ago by a former merchant marine who was at once thrifty and incredibly creative. He operated it for the next forty years before selling it to Chris, the new owner, who wanders the grounds with a giant rescue-laborador named Buddy, arranging the padding, cleaning things, picking up pine needles. The obstacles are brilliant -- a rubik's cube for example, a skeetball chute made out of rubber mats, a slot machine that spins when you hit the ball through the hole. Most are on a gaming / local sports theme but there's the requisite windmill, totem pole, and wooden bear. And some very clever funny ones like dancing hula girls. Some are so fun you want to do them again and again, such as a luge-like bank shot. I kept honest score because it's really pathetic if you cheat playing miniature golf by yourself. . . "That's like reading the answers on a crossword puzzle," Chris suggested. After a miraculous hole in one on the first hole I nose-dived to a ten over par 55 on the first course, then a more respectable 5-over 50 on the second. There is much randomness to miniature golf but it plays very fair here. Not once did I get frustrated or feel I was cheated out of anything. Holes are smooth, fun, and entertaining, and it's all in top condition compared to other courses of its era and style, most of which are sadly either gone or in disrepair. That's not to say perfect. There's some wear and unevenness, so the ball does meander around a bit. You can rent out sections for parties and events. It's open in the warm months only; in the winter the course is under many feet of snow and things are safely in storage. I haven't comparison shopped for miniature golf lately, in fact I don't think I've ever played: (1) alone, (2) as an adult, or (3) after drinking. But given all the above it's an incredible value. $7 for two games. I've run the math in my head, and considering how much the land would be worth as a condo development it's a miracle the place is still here after fifty years. The world does not need more time share condos so please support the miracle and play miniature golf next time you're in Lake Tahoe. There's no alcohol or junk food sold here but there are some snacks and a soda machine. If you're nice and not rowdy I doubt Chris would mind your bringing a beer, and Buddy looks like he could use some. The 120+ foot pine trees provide lots of shade and the lake view is stunning. There's no way you can leave here unhappy, if you do you're just a grinch. read more

We have been going here for years, it is the best mini golf place in the world. All the holes are lovingly hand made and so cute. The best hole is the gigantic slot machine. When your ball goes in, the wheel spins and you can get a hole in one! This is a family owned operation conveniently located across the street from the Log Cabin, so you can have breakfast and then play or come for an ice cream and then play...or vice versa! PS One of the owner's kids is the great-niece of Shemp Howard of The Three Stooges Fame. Kinda cool to know. read more

I have 2 little boys who wanted ice cream before we went to miniature golf . The ice cream place is across the street from miniature golf. I needed to use the restroom and the ice cream place did not have a bathroom so I ran across the street to the miniature golf place to use the restroom. They refused to allow me to use the restroom b/c I was not a paying customer. I explained to them that we will becoming over to play in about 15 minutes. The kid behind the desk told me no. So I had walk about a half a mile to use a restroom and we went to the other side of kings beach after ice cream to play miniature golf instead of this place. Very poor customer service. read more

To beat the heat, we played a course of mini golf as one of the courses was mostly in the shade under the pine trees. There were various unique holes to play and got kind of competitive. I also liked that each hole had a suggestion of trying to hit the ball in a different manner and had some fun historic facts. If the other course were in shade too and my partner was up for it, I totally would've bought the 2 course combo for $11, but we just paid for the 1 course for $8pp. read more
