I've been a few times with minor ailments, nothing particular interesting or worth a story. An ear infection was about as interesting as it got, of which I needed two or three different appointments to solve. The staff working at the front desk are all very helpful and courteous. It wasn't too much trouble getting an appointment even though the problem wasn't serious, I think it was roughly a week from when I first called. They have a team of doctors and nurses, of varying ages and experience however all the medical staff I dealt with were fantastic. Quick, to the point but certainly not skimming the surface. They are also very good as far as booking and picking up prescriptions without appointment. If you're living in the south Belfast area as a student or a 'Maaalone' resident then you can't go wrong with this well structured, professional practice.

There are plenty of GP's and they are usually very knowledgeable. Which isn't always the case. My only gripe, well two gripes, is that the parking can be an absolute nightmare sometimes, and also that they make you wait 48 hours to get a repeat prescription. I don't know if all doctors are the same but it's well annoying. lol. Apart from that, I am happy with this practice.

No one likes going to the doctor, so if you have to go it may as well be as best an experience as you can manage, and that is what you get here. Appointments are easy enough to get and all staff, from reception to nurses and all the doctors are so nice. While doctors are constantly under pressure to see as many patients as possible under crippling time restraints, you never feel rushed, you are never just handed a prescription and sent on your way and you are listened to. Any time I have attended I have felt understood and respected and felt better! I hope you don't need a doctor, but if you do these guys have it all in healthy spades.

I decided to get a series of tests to do a personal MOT. I observe that very few folks that I know…read moredo this yet I see it as sensible at around three score and ten. So with prevention better than cure I saw three different consultants in the last few weeks with a fourth teed up for mid April. I got a whole raft of blood and other tests too with all results coming back just fine, particularly for an old bloke. One of these agreeable chaps thought it sensible to arrange an early CT scan just to have a look at various organs and I asked to be sure the pancreas got a particular screening. It took a few days and I got a phone call to turn up for my scan. I had to turn up having not eaten for 4 hours and with a full bladder. So I did. Got there on time and taken on time. All the staff were pleasant and none looked over worked. I didn't expect the injection as I lay with my feet in the Phillips scanner that looked like a giant polo mint. The injection caused an uncomfortable warm torso feeling but as the entire procedure took under 5 minutes it was ok. I was offered cappuccino after the scan. It was all very beneficial. Once alls declared fully clear (hopefully) that'll do me now into very old age. Well maybe.

I am an extremely infrequent visitor to the doctors and like most men I tend to let things get excruciating before I finally admit that I need to see a doctor. With this in mind I wasn't actually registered with a doctor it had been so long since my last visit. So just before Christmas I decided to get registered somewhere close to where I lived. I firstly went to a practice at the bottom of the Antrim Road which resembled a prison, luckily for me they weren't registering new patients, so I wandered further up the road and came to Salisbury Medical Practice. The practice itself resembles an old victorian manor house, welcoming, grand and warm. The doctors and staff evoke the same feelings. I went in to the practice on my first visit and to be honest I didn't even expect to be able to register but to my surprise they asked me to come back that afternoon to new patient registration (Thursday's). Once registered which was a simple process I was then able to book an appointment. To my complete and utter shock I was able to get one the next morning at 10am - Let's put this in to perspective. In 24 hours I was registered, booked and seen by a nurse and doctor. I can not recommend this practice enough - highly professional and caring. Easily the best medical experience of my life. For anyone worried about me, it's just a football injury!

This has been my GP practice for almost 20yrs now, the surgery has evolved during that time into…read morethe slick operation it is today. Routine appointments are often booked up well in advance but they have a triage system whereby when you phone in the morning you receive a call back from either one of the GPs or the Nurse Practitioner who will discuss your symptoms and decide how soon you need to be seen, appointments are kept specifically for this purpose. I have lost track of how many GPs actually work here but there are 6 consulting rooms around the main waiting area at the back, a small room opposite a treatment room & a larger treatment room beside reception. Most staff are polite, friendly & helpful. Self service check in allows for quick check in and a reduction in queues at reception. You can register for online services too which allows you to securely book/cancel appointments and order repeat prescriptions. You can nominate a local pharmacy to collect your prescriptions too to save a journey, very handy service indeed.

Sure, Kerrsland is a lovely,…read moreairy surgery, and I only had to wait a miraculous five days for an appointment, and the GPs are all helpful enough...but it is a doctors. Fine, four stars it is. I am fortunate enough to not be a regular attendee at such a place. The last time I went was due to my hayfever, three years ago, as it had gotten particularly bad and I was to spend the next five days camping. At that time, prescriptions were £3.50, so I was only prescribed a nasal spray, despite the fact that the locum doctor was adamant that I would get them for free since I was a student. I managed to persuade that this really wasn't the case, and I also had to fork out for dental treatment. She was appalled at this, and I was rather appalled that she hadn't known this fact. Lovely lady though. This visit was linked to my sore foot, and I hesitantly made an appointment with another locum doctor, who was pleasant enough and tried his best to figure out what was up. He informed he that I was suffering from foot-pain (gosh), and that he would prescribe me some anti inflammatories, and that it would probably be a good idea for me to get an arch support too. Prescriptions are now free (happy days), so I didn't mind this too much at all. Awk, they do do a good job. I just really hope I won't be back mind you. Simply because it is a doctors. Nothing else.

The staff are lovely and friendly and the reception very efficient. Kerrsland members can take advantage of open surgery each morning, providing you are in the practice by 10.30am you will see a doctor!! The surgery is open late nights also but by appointment only.

I couldn't believe their kindness dedication and great teamwork delivering first class care. Nothing was too much trouble for the doctors, nurses , healthcares, and the housekeepers. The doctors and nurses helped me feel well cared for and reasured as I was very anxious before my operation. Just over a year ago I received a pretty bad cut to the back of my left foot (due to wearing entirely unsuitable shoes!) so I duly rubbed on some Savlon, stuck on a plaster, and merrily went on my way. Unfortunately by the next day, it had swollen up pretty badly, and I could not put and pressure on it at all, and was in a considerable amount of pain, so unfortunately it seemed like a trip to the dreaded A&E was on the cards. Whiteabbey is my most convenient, but they no longer offer Accident and Emergency, so I managed to talk my mother into kindly taking me to Antrim. I brought a magazine with me, because my previous experiences of A&E meant long boring waits.. but I was amazed to be seen only 10 minutes after arrival, and within half an hour, I was patched up, armed with a course of anti-biotics and on my way home. Very impressed!

Two ladies stand out And the young man , a tall blonde lady not sure of her ethnicity and an older English lady both have my utmost respect. Some of the patients are a disgrace with their attitudes.

I had come to the surgery for my diabetes blood test results. My doctor said nothing about the results, instead he told me to come back in two weeks time for another blood test. I refused to have that test because I saw no point of having another when I was not told the results of the one whose results I had came for. He then told me to come for the blood test in a years time. A GP is an important person in my life. My health is their hands. So whatever it is about my health, my doctor has to be truthful no matter how bad. That said, it could be difficult for a doctor to be honest and helpful to their patient when the doctor/patient relationship is unpleasant.
