I have to side with the negative reviewers on this one. I get that several buffet places haven't been the same since Covid and a lot of them are now gone. But because this was somewhat near the edge of town, I thought this would be a nice place. I did read mixed reviews on Google, but Yelp had mostly negatives. The selection was very poor, and there were some basics like crab rangoon (which surprisingly wasn't that good) and rice, noodles, yada. I also have to agree with the reviewer that talked about the front counter guy as he acted like he was afraid of me. Maybe this is where I'll find some real food. Some authentic, delicious, satisfying food. And I look at the reviews online, and they're mixed. I don't care. I'm desperate. I'm willing to take a chance. I'm willing to gamble with my stomach. So I go in. And I see the food. And it's... standard. Standard buffet quality. Nothing special. Nothing terrible. Just... food. And there's a lot of it. A lot of variety. And I'm surprised by the variety of non-Asian food on the menu. I'm hungry. I'm not picky. I'm not snobby. I'm not a food critic. I'm just a gal who wants to eat. So I grab a plate, and I pile it up. I pile it up with everything. Everything I can fit on the plate. And I go to my table, and I start eating. And it's... good. It's hot, it's fresh, it's filling. It reminds me a little bit of the Golden Corral. And I enjoy it. I enjoy my dinner. I go in hungry, and I leave full. And I think, that's all I can ask for. Took our family there...have gone there for years but this time very poor...service lady was rude, food was mediocre and some not restocked, fight broke out between two patrons verbal but foul language and threatening behavior and person in charge did nothing to intervene...one of our grandsons only drank two sips of his drink so requested a to go cup but denied..all in all poor experience and disappointed in the overall meal and vibe read more

Do not go to this buffet at least not on Sunday. There were many items not restocked. Definitely not worth the price.

Their server had a bad stutter and made it really hard to understand him. They ask you what drink you want (coke products) displayed on a menu, but it's not actually coke products is dollar store two liters of soda that they sell as the original. The chicken if you could call it that, was pink in the middle, which gave me terribly painful food poisoning after not noticing. So bad we left,the service we awfal and the only person that was nice (the waiter) was being yelled at, and the lady was talking about us in her language not know I understood them, the food was so bad that we spit it out and then we watched the women pick up two forks up from off the floor and put them back to use them, not o ly was the food bad but the drinks and the people were terrible. The poor guy working the front counter had Tourette Syndrome and could hardly talk and not sure why they had him working the front counter if he couldn't even talk felt so bad for him overall other than that the food sucked they have went downhill after Covid please do yourself a favor and don't eat here definitely disgusting they had no food at all was running out and never refilled it like a buffet should do! read more

Having lunch here for the first time, but DEFINATELY not the last. All the food is fresh and good tasting, and the staff is friendly and attentive. I walked in and was very angrily welcomed by a woman at the front who acted like I was a return customer and yelled at me for apparently not knowing their pay first policy. I went to this buffet with 2 other people. None of us could find enough food to eat. The green beans were undercooked, white rice was hard, chicken wings were so tiny that there was barely any meat on them, and there were about 4-5 bad American dishes on the buffet line. It is overpriced. All the food looked as if it was made hours ago... And then my daughter went to get Jello and there were like fruit fly type bugs in it! I showed the owner and all he said was do you want to get a different plate!!! Um like no!!! We are done and that was that didn't offer anything else, just more jello, which by the way I watched him and he never even changed it yet alone looked at what was already out!!! Not worth the price. The wonton soup had no wonton in it. They don't have steamed or fried dumplings. The spring roll is the frozen and deep fry type. No hot & sour soup, but they do have a very poor version of New England clam "soup." Most of the Asian entree were too oily. Way too many western dishes like sausage peppers and onions, French fries, buttered potatoes, linguini Alfredo with fake crab, quesadillas, heat and eat meatballs in some kind of sauce, fried fish portions. I've lived in Rome for about twenty years, and still visit. I've been here on their good and bad days, but either way this is buffet is far from decent. The food is sub par, at best which is often infrequent. The service is irrelevant, the atmosphere is as well. I'm giving this place a two star because the only other Chinese buffet in the city is worse, which isn't much. If you're desperate enough for a buffet of food spend the extra gas and go to new Hartford. Or buy higher quality Chinese at the China House. read more

Used to love this place that's why when my son said this is where he wanted to go for his birthday dinner around 4 this evening I was ok with it... Very disappointed, everything was over cooked which had happened in the past but the desert always made up for that but no most of that was super crunchy too, no ice cream no cheesecake which was like a staple there and the days they didn't have it the food was at least par, raise the price just to have crappier food? No good will never be going here again my 1 year old wouldn't even eat the fries it was so bad and as for my oldest who chose the place to begin with he was very upset he wasted his birthday dinner on food he didn't like and could hardly chew. Good food, good dessert, good service. Nothing is exceptional as it is a typical Chinese buffet. Perhaps a larger array of food would make it better and a less hectic seating/paying station. I'd be lying if I said I'm never coming back here again because I'm a sucker for Chinese buffets and anything tastes good when it's doused in red sauce. This place was bad, plain and simple. My normal buffet stomping ground is the East Dynasty, but the other day, my friends and I wanted to take our gluttonous selves to uncharted territory. BIG MISTAKE! Atmosphere: 1/5 - Triple d, as I say. Dark, dingy, dirty Food: 1/5 - We were hard-pressed to find a dish that looked appealing, let alone tasted good. The only two foods here I could recommended while still retaining my dignity would be the mashed potatoes and the birthday cake ice cream. Price: 2/5 - This place cost roughly 10 dollars a head, which isn't much for a Buffett. However, if you're just paying for all-you-can-eat mash potatoes and birthday cake ice cream, I'd advise you to take your $10 and change elsewhere. Service: 3/5 - Nothing to complain about. Nothing to commend. Just normal everyday service. Overall: Go somewhere else. Never before in my life have I ever been fearful of a restaurant's food. I stopped at this buffet while on a brief trip to Rome New York. I went at 2pm which is not always to best time to hit a buffet ( between their lunch and dinner rush ). But I'm happy to say the food was good, hot and fresh. As Chinese restaurants go, they had an above average selection for building a salad which was nice. And be sure to try the quesadilla. I don't know why a Chinese restaurant had quesadillas but it was awesome. The place was clean including a clean rest room. I would definitely visit again if I had the opportunity. read more

Kings Buffet is affordable, exquisite and just all around amazing. They offer clean dining and wonderful service. I talked to the guy who checked me out and he was very nice. When getting food I thought that there was a multitude of choices. They have some food for everyone, not just chinese food. They even have some fried food including onion rings and french fries. Now I had a hard time choosing what I wanted so I got some of everything. And I can say from that experience that their food is delicious. I even checked out their desserts. They had many things including cookies, ice cream, and brownies. Now they have a bad rap on their ice cream scoops as they are in a small water tub. I wouldn't recommend the ice cream just because of sanitary reasons but that is no reason not to go! Please give this place a chance as their is no reason not to. I went their looking for a good cheap meal and that's exactly what I got. Very satisfied, 10 out of 10 reccomend Kings Buffet!! read more
