General Tso's Combination Dinner, Singapore Noodles, Crab Rangoon
    Nick M.

Ordered takeout at about 6 on a Tuesday evening. I ordered the crab rangoon, general tso's combination dinner, and an order of Singapore noodles. I was told 15-20 minutes for my pickup. Timing was right on the nose and total came to about $30. Seems right for the amount of food I ordered. The crab rangoon were tasty, albeit a little different than what I'm used to. Typically they're shaped like a little triangle but these are little crimped balls that somewhat resemble a small octopus. Definitely smaller than the triangle variant but still good nonetheless. The general tso's was better than I remember. I've ordered from China Pavilion quite a few times in the past and always found a couple of pieces of chicken that were stringy and tough, but that was not the case this time. The chicken was tender and covered in ample sauce. This dish is not spicy, something to note as I've found this varies a bit place to place. The dinner also came with an egg roll and rice. I ordered simple white rice and both the rice and the egg roll were adequate if not exceptional. The Singapore noodles were new for me. I ordered them after seeing them in a couple other reviews. They were quite good, but not "fiery" as I've seen in other reviews. I will note that they could do with some type of sauce as they were a bit on the dry side, but the flavor was on point. Overall solid Chinese takeout that left me with little to complain about. I'll be ordering again.

We wanted some dim sum and this place had some good reviews. We were traveling back east and decided to check this place out. The interior is old and can use an update but the service is good. It's family run and they seem to be a really nice family though they're a bit short staffed. Everything went quick after their children showed up to help. We tried a few items: Fried shrimp balls was good Chicken feet in red pepper sauce we didn't care for. It was a bit cold and we didn't care for the sauce. Steamed pork buns were just ok. A little sweet but it felt like it was missing something. Long Beach noodles: DELICIOUS. It came in a sweet and savory sauce topped with fried garlic. The noodles had a nice crispy char on it. Deep fried bean curd rolls w/ pork and shrimp: It was ok. It seamed to be steamed and not fried as it was cold and wet and not crispy. The sauce we weren't a big fan of. Slightly sour. Beef stomach(tripe): Steamed dish and it came with peppers and onions. It was too salty. ROASTED DUCK: We got a half duck. This is the of the show. Definitely one of the best ducks I've had. The skin was crispy and the sauce was very nice. A little sweet and tangy. I kinda wish we ordered a whole one to take home. Overall, it's ok but I'm sure with some updates they'd be great. They need more staff and maybe a little tweaking of their recipes.

Haven't been here in a while so I wanted to stop in for Sunday when they feature a dim sum menu. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly. I ordered 4 items. Shrimp balls, steamed pork dumplings, scallion pancake and Sticky rice and chicken. I had 2 very nice dishes, 1 okay and one not good to my liking at all. My favorite was the Sticky rice and chicken, the rice was a beautiful texture sticking together perfectly to eat with your hands with a little bit of chicken inside and has a lightly sweet flavor. I also enjoyed the shrimp balls, coated with panko(?) Very crisp and hot. The pork dumplings were okay... seemed like they were premade, maybe frozen and reheated? The scallion pancake just didn't seem right, I've had many in lots of other places, this was not flaky, it was all brown and very dry with almost no scallions. They made it right and took it off the bill, so all was good. They serve hot tea which is a big plus for me and I had several dipping sauces, which were great.

This place is truly outstanding. I have only been for their Sunday Dim Sum but the dim sum is amazing and comparable to dim sum I've had in major cities. I personally recommend the shrimp balls, roasted duck, taro shrimp, tofu wraps, and Long Beach noodles. Service is excellent- the place is family run and the owners are very sweet. Overall this place is incredible and I've enjoyed every meal I've had here!

This place is my favorite for Chinese takeout! It was my first time trying their Dim Sum menu. I had the fresh shrimp dumplings and pork buns. The shrimp was flavorful and juicy. For mains, I had the chicken in peanut and pepper sauce (asked for extra spicy). It was full of veggies and the sauce was delicious.

This is a place to go if you're in the area and want some Chinese. I wouldn't go out of my way necessarily to go, but it's satisfactory. The service is a bit slow, but the employees are friendly and talkative. They made lots of jokes and were attentive. This isn't a bad review. I'm just saying I've had better, but you may find something you love. They have offer a sit down experience, with those crispy fried wontons and the orange (duck?) sauce and hot tea. I adore Chinese restaurants that do this. Which goes to show how many authentic and delicious sit Chinese restaurants I know in Syracuse that I rave about something that should probably be more common. They also do take out. The entrees were well-portioned and freshly prepared, coming out piping hot. They do that optical illusion where they have a gigantic wall mirror that makes the room look 2x bigger. Just a comment, honestly it was a smart move of them. Everyone liked their meal. There were lots of options to choose from and they offered a dinner special. I would go here again and try other things! Anyways, I went with three friends and afterwards we drove to the target in Camillus. It was a fun trip on a weekday after classes and the area was interesting to drive around, although it was fairly dark and I kept saying "lol guys this is like in a movie where you're driving around graveyards and weird neighborhoods and then your car stalls or something and there's a murderer stalker serial guy." Okay I hope that last comment didn't dissuade you from coming. Actually the more I think about this place the more I think it would another great adventure to come. Definitely bring friends!!

Sunday is the day to stop if you love Dim sum! Serve from opening until 2:30pm. I've been looking for a place to eat dim sum but finally I found a dim sum heaven in this is the place. The staff and the service is great. The owner walks around making conversation with the guest super friendly staff! You won't regret coming to eat here.

Phenomenal food!…read more We're in Syracuse for a conference, and didn't want to spend a fortune for mediocre food at the conference hotel, so we set out to find a good local spot via Yelp. Su Su Dim Sum came up at the top of the list, so off we went. I ordered a small (pint) of hot and sour soup and lamb with scallions. My wife ordered tangerine beef, and then we ordered red bean paste steamed buns to go for breakfast tomorrow. The soup was thick, full of chunks of tofu, plenty of vegetables, a little less peppery and a little less pungent than we like, but still better than typical Chinese restaurant fare. A bowlful of fried noodles came on the side. A great start! My wife, a veterinarian, suspected that the lamb was actually beef, but that question aside, the lamb dish was delicious, with plenty of meat, chunks of bell pepper, and abundant scallions, in a delicious sauce. The star of the night was the tangerine beef, lightly breaded and perfectly fried, in a savory and slightly sour sauce. A few broccoli florets, a handful of tangerine segments, and a wonderful thick sauce completed the dish perfectly. We packed up the leftovers, collected the steamed buns, and headed back to the hotel. We grabbed some menus to give to fellow conference attendees when they ask where we went out to dinner.

We love dim sum so we looked up the local places that served it & found Su Su. The space is simple & I believe it may have once been a diner at one point in time. The staff tried their best as there were a fair amount of to-go orders & walk-ins. (As I said it was Valentine's Day) We decided to order a few different things. Each one was excellent. The flavors & temperature of each item were fantastic. I really enjoyed the pineapple fried rice. We'll certainly be going back to try a few more things!

The reviews looked promising, so I called ahead and placed my order. They told me it would be ready in about 10 minutes, which was perfect. I ordered wonton soup, orange chicken, and house fried rice (my favorite because you get the mix of chicken, shrimp, and sometimes pork). I completely forgot to take photos when I first got my food, so the pictures I posted are actually from the leftovers I brought to work the next day for lunch -- which also shows they give solid portion sizes, pretty typical and generous for a Chinese restaurant. The staff was very kind, and one thing I really appreciated was that they had utensils and sauces set out for customers to grab themselves. I feel like a lot of restaurants can be a little stingy with sauces or charge for every extra, so it was refreshing to be able to take what I needed without having to ask. For that alone, I'd give them five stars for customer service. As for the food, it was good -- not bad at all -- but I personally wanted a little more flavor and seasoning. I would definitely eat here again, but I'm still on the search for my go-to Chinese spot. If anyone has recommendations for a place with bold flavor and great seasoning, let me know!

I did find a person who visited this one and another one, Jianghu Café and so I asked her if I could only visit one, which do I do, and she said Jianhghu was the winner winner Szechuan lunch. I did go there and it was great! But I found myself having one additional dinner time without plans, so I came here as well. Walking in, I noticed what appeared to be a common Asian Massage Parlor next door, yo uget to it via the entry way that bring you here as well. Kinda odd, but it didn't bother me. Walking into this restaurant, it's very nicely laid out and beautifully décor'd! The servers and staff spoke great English and were very helpful, especially when answering questions about their menu. I started with their Garlic Cucumbers, but I asked for them to be spicy and Wow, they did a GREAT job with them! They weren't very hot, but so much spiciness and flavor - I loved them! Next up was to get their cumin chicken. They do cumin style in all their proteins, which makes for some great options. I chose their basic fried rice to come with this. The fried rice and cumin chicken were both amazing... Perfectly spiced and loaded with flavor. There were several Szechuan peppercorns in the dish, which added to the aroma and flavor of the dish. Overall - I really like this dinner! While I do feel Jianghu is slightly better, this is amazing as well!

I also ordered the Orange Chicken and the General Tso's Chicken (extra spicy), but neither dish was spicy at all, or fresh tasting. All chicken dishes were drowned in bland sauce. Since it was our first time and we weren't sure how the food would be, we decided to order from the lunch menu. The ordering experience was one of the most bizarre and frustrating I've had in recent years. But the food itself was delicious. Since we were driving with young wailing kids in the backseat, we called the restaurant 20 minutes out to place our order. The lady who picked up the phone told me in Chinese that the restaurant was very busy, so I should place the order when I was 10 minutes away, or better yet, when I was at the restaurant. I tried to explain that the whole point of placing the order by phone was to avoid waiting, but she had put a male Chinese-speaking colleague on the phone, who told me to just order at the restaurant because he was too busy to take phone orders. With that, he promptly hung up on me. Ten minutes out, I called again and tried to order eggplant in garlic sauce and fish in chili oil. The same man I had spoken to before had tried to get me to just place the order when I arrived at the restaurant, but I again told him that we were trying to avoid waiting for our food since we had young children (now screaming) in the car. He reluctantly took my order (I was told that my third request--vermicelli with spiced minced pork--was not available). Frustratingly, when we arrived at the restaurant, they had not even started cooking our food, so we had to wait about 15 minutes. The food itself was superb. The eggplant is some of the best I've had. The fish in chili oil was also wonderfully tender, though there was a slightly higher ratio of Napa cabbage to fish than what I've usually experienced for this dish at other restaurants. The interior of the restaurant was modest and cafeteria-like. I can't comment on the service quality for dining in. If it weren't for the rough phone ordering experience, I would be keen on ordering takeout or dining in there again.
