On arrival the fat one "don't follow me in" with a tone, on entering after waiting for 3-4 hrs the fat one again "we are breaking the seals on the boxes if you don't like it go home" all this just to screw over the collectors and players. Mind you the game don't officially come out till July. Can't even have one for display because they was popping all the boxes. Don't support this store because they pulling salty moves because they can't resell it for the 450 market price so they screw over the TCG players. I'm never stepping foot back in this buisness and I'll be sure to mention to every TCG player to avoid this shop at all costs. Look at my thumb on the product they put a pocket knife to it that line going diagonal is not suppose to be there and the plastic should not be unwrapped like this for a MSRP product but Kings Games are salty fat fks who can't make enough from prismatic. If u guys keep this up just shut down stop making it hard for the TCG community who collect and play. Royal collectibles never popped the plastic, never again with these incompetent location. They lack in customer service is all I will say. Good selection but the people working there do not make me want to come back.

If you live in Manhattan, this place is already gonna be anywhere from 90 mins to 2 hours round trip which *was* worth putting up with since the options for card shops here are slim to none if you're into Pokémon. Their products are already all $10-$20 above retail, which while way better than Montasy (), is worse than shops you can find online or Long Island. I had the final straw today when I went to sell $145 worth of cards and buy a Chilling Reign booster. After tax it came to $152 (insane for a booster but their rate for buying bulk is decent). I went to pay the remaining $7 with a card and they told me it was a $15 minimum. I just sold you $145 in cards and you're gonna give me shit and make me spend an extra $8 for a made up credit card minimum??? I'm done spending two hours to pay for over priced product and get horrible customer service. You're better off just taking the LIRR to a shop in Long Island or maybe one of the shops in Queens (haven't checked them out yet). read more

Kings Games is primarily a trading card game store that promotes Magic, Yu Gi Oh, and other trading card games. They sell and buy cards, and have small and large scale tournaments. It is also a internet cafe, with about 12 computers. As well as the new and old consoles with games. I personally do not really play trading card games. Kings Games shines not in their products but in what service they provide, which is a meeting place for all kinds geek to congregate. Dungeons and Dragons groups, board games nights, tournaments, and just a large space for assembling a large array of many different geeks with differing passion for specific shows, games and interests. This kind of atmosphere promotes the discovering of new perspectives on old games and learning about new and fun games, shows and movies. The prices are standard for magic packs, 4 bucks. Anyone selling them cheaper must be able to afford it. These guys know their stuff, the owner is an MtG champion, and has had input on Ascension(chronicle of the godslayer). Prices are also competitive for board games, you'll probably be able to beat some prices on amazon, but shipping will usually even it out, here you just pick up what you want. And if they don't have it, they can usually order it. Everyone is knowledgeable about almost any game being played here, always helpful and really nice. They aren't nice if you are a d-bag/rude/or mean to other customers. I've been coming hear for 2 years and I consider every dime spent there well used. read more

I used to come here when I didn't know any better. Their internet works well and their computers run quickly.. ish. That used to be enough to make me happy, and after I hadn't been there for a while it'd left a pleasant memory of the place. Then, a friend and I had some time to kill on Kings Highway and I suggested we stop by Kings Games. I get it. It's mostly a card games store and neckbeards are part of the package. I get that they spill things on themselves, don't always bathe, etc. I also get that they tend to have money to spend, so having the snack bar easily accessible to them just makes sense. But for the love of GOD, clean the keyboards and the counters, because I shouldn't have to wash my hands after touching a keyboard I paid to use. If the keyboards aren't cleaned, I don't want to know how often the computers themselves (or the bathrooms) are. Two stars for having a good selection of games and the place at least not smelling like day-old food. If you're used to LAN cafes like Cybercraft or Local Battles, this isn't it. read more

If I lived any closer, this would be where i'd go. The business seems to be a renovated house, very spacious house, two floors and a bathroom. The first floor consists of where you can purchase Packs of your favorite Trading Card Game as well as Singles. Across from the counter are a row of computers, which, seems like an awesome place to host a lan party. The workers are friendly and eager to help you in construction of Magic Decks or YGO Decks. So, what gives? Well, sometimes, customers aren't always happy. I made a 400 dollar purchase in single cards, and I regret that. If I hadn't been impatient and did my research and shopping, i probably could've done better - But no excuse. When you purchase single cards, you are evidently hit with Sales tax. If I would have known this, i would have taken my business else where. Although I could understand, the legality of the issue seems fuzzy on used merchandise. Like any other card shop, you have to be aware of looters. Kings Game's actually does a great job at deterring would be thieves. If I'm not mistaken, Camera's are placed in intricate spots for a wide view of what is going on upstairs. If you kindly walk your way up to the second level you would be greeted by numerous tables, sometimes more often then not, the players are awesome and kind, polite, respectful. Be mindful that since this is a primary location, it does attract people from all walks of life to this location. People will often ask for Trades, to see your binder, or pester you when you are trying to open a purchased Box of cards. Either way, this is a VERY CLEAN and SAFE environment. I trust this shop and it's owner to a great extent in providing a venue to enjoy your card games. 5 - 5 Stars for Kings Gaming. read more

Never again! I used to frequent kings games back during the counterstrike 1.5 days, and recently started playing magic again with a coworker. Over 3 weeks I went there 4 times, and spent over $250 dollars. Each time I was treated and spoken to like a piece of shit by the same fat fuck with the bogus pony tail. I say bogus because the lazy bastard didn't have the patience to actually grow his hair out, so he shaved the sides off, and put a hair tie around the little bit of hair left on the top of his stupid head. The first time I went in, was the weekend Amonkhet set came out, so I went in and was charged 5 dollars more for a booster box than they price on their own website. I then proceeded to ask for the promo card I was entitled to, when the aforementioned shmuck condescendingly tells me " I don't know where it is, you have to wait until my employee gets back." That should have been my first sign this guy was a douche. He isn't "your employee" he is a human being, so stop flexing the little authority you do have in this world over the few unfortunate souls who have to actually listen to you. I proceeded to go in another two times, to buy another box of boosters, and a bundle, both were again charged 5 dollars more than the website price. Each time I was spoken to in a condescending tone. I'm assuming its because i'm not part of their inner circle of cronies who come in all the time. The last visit was the straw that broke the camels back. I showed up for what I thought was Friday night magic. When asked if they were holding a draft this guy tells me in the same condescending tone "not if nobody comes" then i asked how many they had to which he responded "one maybe two." Very dry, didn't seem to care if i was there of if i wasn't. so i sat down for about 10 minutes deciding what i would buy myself to make the trip worth it. When it suddenly dawned on me, I will never spend a penny here again. To the owners and management: this is a business, not a hangout for you and your close friends. It can be both, but when the latter, gets in the way of the former, your days are slowly numbered. You can only bank on the business of kids who have nowhere to go for so long before somewhere else better, cleaner, and more welcoming opens up and puts you out of business. I recently went to this store to participate in a tournament. I was late but they let me pay to enter anyway. I waited for the next round to start, but was never informed. As a result I missed my chance to participate in the tournament. I explained this to the person that I paid to enter, but refused to give me a refund or store credit. I am a huge nerd and so I went to King's Games because I didn't have to walk forever and I like playing card games with wizards and dragons. Laugh all you want, people like me run the world. Regardless, nerds are often very inclusive and every batch is different. The shop itself is nice- they have PCs set up for games, although I didn't use their service so I don't know what games they support or not nor do I know the quality of the internet. The card prices were pretty good and while upstairs needed to be cleaned desperately from the last batch of soda drinkin' nerds, the people were friendly and not creepy like you get sometimes. 5 stars for service, friendliness, and ease of signing up, and -1 star for needing to clean up after the nerdasauroses rampage through. read more

An amazing place of it's kind. I recommend this place to anybody. Great selection of any different cards from pokemon to yugioh to magic and whatever else your heart may desire. I originally came because I wanted to try out my old deck of yugioh cards against others, before I go any further let me say i was no match against all the new cards out There. Anyway I wanted a better deck and the owner/manager was very helpful. He wasn't trying to get me to spend more than necessary he was actually helping me save money. Amazing place with a great environment has a internet cafe, plenty of play space and anything else that anybody would want from a store of it's kind. Attended a Pre-release event in April. Arrived late but staff allowed me to join the event. Staff is nice and helpful from my interaction with them. Earlier in the day there was "stealing" from one player to another player. Good thing this was caught and the person who stole is now banned from the store and the staff even apologized to the person who had his things stolen. For my first time going to this store it was a good experience. For my event the organizer would post a sheet up to the wall and make an announcement that pairings were up for the tournament. The room with the tables is moderately sized but not large enough to not be aware of an announcement where you can't hear or see a tournament posting. read more

This store frustrates me to no end. For NYC, the space is pretty incredible, spanning 2 stories and featuring plenty of tables to fit simultaneous yu-gi-oh and magi the gathering tournaments. Overall, the store is well organized, updated with current product, and clean. However, the seemingly greediness of the owners keeps me from ever fully supporting this store. As far as singles go, this store has a good selection, even reaching a far back as some dual lands and pieces of power. Yet they will not negotiate at all on their prices. Even when the card is in poor condition, they refuse to take anything less than retail value, and they ignore any efforts to show them that some of their cards are priced as highly as 3 or 4 times the amount at which you could buy them from an online vendor. To a degree, I can understand the higher prices of a brick and mortar store, and would be willing to pay a slightly higher premium for the convenience of getting the card immediately as opposed to waiting for it to be shipped, but I do not appreciate being rudely dismissed with the response "I don't care about starcity's prices - they have nothing to do with mine". Last time I was there I had a list o $40 or so dollars worth of cards (at online prices) that I would have been willing to pay around $60 for, but gave up any reasoning with them after they refused to work with my offers of $2 for $1 cards that they had priced at $3-$4. Additionally, they have a strict policy that you must spend $5 to enter the upstairs gaming area. This is an understandable policy used to avoid freeloaders taking/dirtying up their space while not actually bringing on any revenue to the store. However, I feel policies like this should be used with more discretionary, and that age should perhaps play a role. For example, I came to one tournament on a Saturday afternoon to catch up with some friends. I tried to go upstairs but was told I couldn't go upstairs until I spent $5, which would be fine HAD I NOT SPENT $90 earlier that week. I tried to argue my case and frustration but still was denied entry. Since then, I've chosen to spend my money elsewhere. I honestly want this store to succeed, but it's these overwhelming frustrations that make me give it a 2'star rating despite the fact that I like the space, the people who play their, and that they hold frequent events across several formats. I just wish they would respect their players a little more. Perhaps then I wouldn't mind spending my money there instead of cringing everytime I think about signing up for another of their events. read more

Fantastic store, the guy behind the register who I'm assuming is the owner or manager, was incredibly helpful in my search for a bunch of singles for a variety of games, and was super nice while I took my time looking through a bunch of binders. The selection on singles seemed to be pretty huge, covering Magic, YGO, Cardfight Vanguard, and I think they had a few binders for Force of Will as well. They had playsets of every card on release day for the latest Magic set, which was super great, and they had a boatload of boxes of foreign product which was priced incredibly well. I didn't have a chance to play in an event or check out the event area, but they host SCG events so I'm assuming it's likely well laid out. They also have an internet cafe area which looked cool and had very reasonable prices, and a gaming area where you could rent a TV and a game for a pretty reasonable price. There were a few groups gaming while I was looking at singles and it seemed very neat as an add-on to an already cool store. Hoping to visit again and play in an event here, and if I do, expect an update to this review. read more
