I'm exploring new hobbies and one of them is properly and safely handling a gun. I am currently getting private lessons from a sweet gal named Jennifer and she has been awesome as my instructor. She is skilled, professional, and informative. The gun center itself is incredible. I love browsing their merchandise as well as getting an eye full with the many funny and cool looking things on display. Prices are great and they offer military discounts. I am enjoying what I have learned so far and I don't think I will ever get tired of absorbing all this gun center has to offer. Do yourself a favor and come here for your next purchase!

2 calls to them that they said "I called someone else"

First of all Todd, I read back your number to two of your employees faces so don't say I called some other store and I have it on record. Second of all by the way I leave a store doesn't tell you what kind of person I am, the fact that you or your employees didn't apologize for the mix up but just looked at me like I was crazy pissed me off more. I suggest you and your employees take a class or something to help you guys out in the future when dealing with customers. P.S. I can drive however I want buddy!!

Our target, not too bad for both of our first time handling a firearm.

4/2/19' First and foremost Alex was awesome! Very nice, professional, and helpful! My wife and my I were first timers for shooting fire arms and he helped us tremendously on getting started and what to do! We used a deal with groupon however the prices seemed very reasonable even if we didn't have the groupon. The firearms are much louder than anticipated and can be very overwhelming with just the ear plugs provided so plan ahead! Can be a little scary getting started but after you get going it is pretty fun and exciting.

Ask the Community - Kings Gun Center

What is the best 22 gun for a 65-year-old woman for protection? It must have a magazine.

Being 3 years ago, I hope you made a satisfactory purchase. Any 22 would do fine, a magazine means semi automatic, 10 shot in California. Cheap to shoot, take basic lessons for safety, small safe to protect it from the grandkids.

The staff continues to be solid, professional, firm when they need to be, and helpful when you have questions. It's the kind of range where you can learn something every time you show up, whether it's from the crew or from the shooters around you. The outdoor setup is what makes this place special. Wide lanes, plenty of space, and a layout that gives you room to breathe. On busy weekends, it fills up fast, but there are also days where you practically have the whole range to yourself. That balance is rare. I did run into one issue with the self‑resetting steel targets. When you pull the rope, the bar that's supposed to drop the targets back down sometimes stays up, which means you end up shooting a target that never resets. Not a dealbreaker, but something worth noting. When I mentioned it to a staff member on my way out, they told me they're already working on changes and improvements, possibly adding new features as well. Good to hear they're staying on top of things. One thing I've always appreciated is the variety of classes they offer. You can sign up for everything from intro competition shooting to pistol optic fundamentals and, most importantly, CCW courses. It's a range that doesn't just give you a place to shoot, it gives you a place to grow. Rankin Field is still the outdoor range I recommend in the Central Valley. Good staff, good space, and a commitment to improving what they already have. I'm looking forward to seeing what updates they roll out next.

I attended the CCW class at GUNSLINGERS yesterday, 02/08/2020. I have been on many gun ranges as well as tactical ranges. I happened to attend this class to maintain my CCW and there was a total of fourteen participants in the class. It's important to point out that Devan was the only Rangemaster assisted by his daughter during this course of fire. There were a few experienced shooters and many inexperienced shooters on this range day. This guy (Devan owner/operator) ran this class at the pace of the slowest shooter. (Anyone with Military or Law Enforcement experience knows that you are only as fast and strong as your weakest link). Everyone in this class was very receptive to his attention to detail. He spent so much time with inexperienced shooters and explained the basic fundamentals of shooting. In my observation, he was never short, arrogant, irritated or flustered with a shooter's lacked knowledge in the gun fundamentals or basic fundamentals regarding the nomenclature of their perspective weapon. I can tell everyone that I witnessed this man walk up to every shooter and went over their prospective targets with them and gave his opinion as to how they should correct their current shooting pattern. He is very knowledgeable in the aspects and basics of shooting and handling a firearm. If you want to know how you are shooting or just a beginner, Devan is the go-to guy regarding any aspects of shooting or basic fundamentals regarding a firearm or shooting. Thank you very much, Devan, for a very well organized CCW Class. I will be back!

However, once inside, we were greeted by a dog before seeing any staff. Unsure of where to go, I called out for assistance. My husband has a very real fear of dogs due to a traumatic childhood experience in which he witnessed another child lose their life from a dog attack. Although the dog in the store appeared very friendly, my husband remained by the door, visibly uncomfortable, hoping the owner would call the dog back. Instead of recognizing my husband's fear, the owner became extremely hostile. He aggressively told my husband to "get the F out" and "F him," insisting the dog was a service animal. When I tried to explain and apologize, I was also cursed at and told to "get the F out" simply for trying to deescalate the situation. I was so shaken that I nearly had an anxiety attack. This is a business open to the public, and the owner should be more mindful that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. There are respectful ways to handle situations like this. A responsible business owner should be able to recognize and respond appropriately to a customer's fear, especially when it involves an animal. This experience was incredibly upsetting and, in my opinion, handled with zero professionalism or compassion. That's just my experience and perspective but I strongly advise others to approach with caution. If the owner feels offended, he may respond with unprofessional aggression.

**Please Read*** I wish someone would have told me all this when I took lessons here…read more I'm only giving this review 3 stars for a specific reason. Manny and the office staff were FANTASTIC--super nice, and they made me (as a driver in training) feel comfortable. Now, I didn't get to experience how nice they were until my last lesson, though. On my first lesson, instructor Tess made me weary of driving. I got my permit in July 2016, but my family didn't have the money for lessons. In early 2017, I finally came across the money to purchase lessons through Santa Fe. Now, mind you, I was cheesy but i knew it was illegal for me to drive without my permit signed by my instructor, so my first experience driving was with Tess. After arriving 15 minutes late, she ran through hand motions, lane changing, turning, and 3-point turns (in theory) so quickly it could've made my head spin. After that, she took me to the residential area near the Hanford Baseball Complex. And Hanford West. It was after school hours and during baseball season, so there was some traffic from students and parents of all sorts. Every time I'd do something wrong--like turn the wheel with my hands in the wrong position--she'd shout at me, and then try to reconcile by saying something along the lines of "I'm just trying to help... remember: 'Tess is the best!'" It got to the point where I almost cried. And this was BEFORE she tried to teach me how to back up on the curb by having me face forward, COVER my eyes, and have me back up. Then, she had me drive her to a nearby Starbucks so she could use the restroom, and yelled at me AGAIN when I didn't know how to park perfectly. By the end of the lesson, I was pretty shaken up. My next lesson was in May 2017 with Joyce. Because of my experience with Tess, I was weary about driving, so I hadn't practiced too much. When it was time for my lesson with Joyce, she was also 15 minutes late. We were supposed to meet at Lemoore Park. When she called me asking where I was I told her I was at the park waiting, and she responded with "Well I'm in the spot where I ALWAYS pick up students!" As if I should have known. After walking around the corner to her, she chided me for wearing Birkenstocks to drive... FYI it was MAY and already 90 degrees outside. Whatever, I didn't know. She was more tolerable than Tess, but was shocked when I needed a refresher course on things like the SMOG-technique of switching lanes and arm motions. Afterwards, I kept her form yelling at me by keeping conversation as I drove, and that might've saved my sanity. My last lesson was with Manny in November 2017. Since May, I had practiced a lot. Honestly, though, I was DREADING my last lesson. I was very nearly traumatized by the last two instructors, and it made me nervous to even think about taking another driving lesson. Nonetheless, Manny was HANDS DOWN the best instructor out of the 3. He was kind, didn't yell at me for not knowing answers, and he made me feel like my questions were valid. He also didn't make me feel inferior, unlike Tess and Joyce. In all reality, he made my review go from a 1 to 3 star. I'm so glad I ended my driving lessons on such a good note. If you plan on taking lessons through Santa Fe, save yourself the hassle and ASK FOR MANNY!
