Honestly one of the best out door ranges I've been too in a long time they do everything here. Even have competing courses, metal targets , ccw classes and requals, they also sell guns and ammo. Holy Molly, what a gorgeous range to shoot practical pistol, aka USPSA. Came down here at Rankin Field Weapon Range for Gunsta Cup IV invitational. The Rankin Filed crew were very friendly thew a very awesome competition. The are a lot of bays, a lot! Rankin Field can easily host a level III USPSA match if they wanted to and I am confident that they can keep the same level of professionalism and quality I have experienced in Gunsta Cup IV. I love they bay layout. (Almost) all bays are covered and fans are available when it gets hot. I like the close proximity of each bays: you can chit-chat (or scout) with other people from adjacent squads. I am definity hooked with this range; throw a level II or higher matches, I will be there. read more

I have Been coming to this beautiful range for over two years and I really enjoy this place a lot! I bring my friends here all the time and they also enjoy the place. The staff is very nice but firm, which is reasonable cause of the environment of the business. You can learn a lot from the staff as well. They are very knowledgeable and skillful. While this won't be the prettiest outdoor range you'll every shoot at, it definitely will have plenty of room. There are several stations at the Pistol range, and a few more in the Rifle. Easily this range can have 50-60 shooters at once, if they are all spread out between the stations. A real scorcher in the summer, but the big fans at least keep the air moving in the berms. New facility with bathrooms and a classroom for CCWP classes and hunters safety courses. They have some basic necessities for free or charge, like hearing and eye protection. +1 point for very reasonable yearly memberships, currently $125 for a year, and I think that includes a CCW class and hunters safety with unlimited shooting access. Day rates are the same as everyone else. +1 for being open 5 days a week and being fairly close to my house in Visalia. Didn't see any vending machines, but would make a welcome addition. This place is by far my favorite range that I've ever been to. Outdoor, but under shade with some fans going when you shoot. They have steel targets and you can set up your paper targets as well. I'm from Sacramento and I don't think we have a range that has steel targets that you can shoot, so I love this place. Every time I come down to visit my family I'm bringing the firearms with me and I'm def coming here to shoot. I also want to say that the staff here and the range masters are super friendly. They've made some significant improvements from what I understand and they are certainly appreciated. A short drive from almost anywhere in Tulare County as it seems centrally located. Friendly staff members and while you won't find free wi-fi or starbucks here anytime soon and if you want a safe place to do some blasting without many of the modern distractions this is it. I believe they are in th process of obtaining the permits to sell ammo, but in the meantime, bring your own. It was around 82-85 degrees when we went, and I can imagine it can swelter in the pit but they did install some gint fans that at least help move the air. I like this place and I'm seriously considering buying a membership. read more

Great Range.It's better to go there during the week to encounter the least amount of people. They do offer CCW class there at a very cheap price. Yearly membership is also fairly priced. Rankin Field is my go-to range. read more

I've gone to this range a few times now and I can agree with what some of the reviewers have said as far as the front desk ladies (if you can call them that.) act toward new customers. My very first time going into the office I wasn't greeted upon entering , I had to initiate the conversation myself in asking how/what I need to do to begin my shooting here. I was directed to some paperwork on the wall and began to fill it out. As I was along my way with the paperwork one of the women at the desk yelled over to me and said I would also need a range safety rundown with one of the range masters. The range master I spoke to was knowledgeable and very polite. He made me feel welcome and embraced as a fellow shooter and enthusiast. After my talks with the range master and him finalizing my paperwork. I walked over to the front desk again to complete my signup. I was asked if I wanted a membership or just a day pass. I told her that I was very interested in a membership but I wanted to try out the range first to see if it was to my liking. I feel like once she heard me say "I was very interested in a membership" her attitude towards me changed and she was a little more welcoming. Although I personally feel like it may be based on her making more money off of me, I don't know for sure but maybe they make some kind of commission or something. After that I went along to my car and took a little cart with me ( they have wheeled carts you can pull to your car and load up your gear) which made carrying my 3 guns to the shooting areas a lot easier. I can say that I really like the actual RANGE portion of this range. Several different areas and targets to choose from and the range masters are very helpful in giving a little bit of some tips in your shooting but they don't feel like they are breathing down your neck the whole time. I usually go early in the mornings on the weekdays and its not too packed. I cant speak for the weekends as I never go then so your experience may vary. All in all I would say that this is easily the best and most cost effective range in the Tulare country area. The range masters are great and I will be returning soon to get my membership as well as attend their CCW class. I highly recommend this range just don't expect much from the ladies at the front desk... read more

NO RAPID FIRING!!! Is one of the range's main focus here. Try not to come here with an itchy trigger finger otherwise you will be lectured by the range officers. Other than that this place is pretty good for an outdoor range. I only wished that they had a rifle range that was longer than just 100 yards but it is located in the country so maybe land is an issue that the only have a 100 yard rifle range. They are in an upgrading phase at the moment and I hope they will be done with it buy the spring of 2016. It would also be nice if they can install a working restroom out on the range that way you don't have to lug all your targets and gear back just to go use the restroom. They have a pistol and pistol/rifle range as well. They offer plenty of firearms training courses here also. read more

One of the best ranges I have been to. Caring staff and range masters who actually care and are friendly. Highly recommend for anyone of any experience level. They have pistol ranges where you can shot rifles shotgun and handguns at as well as a 100 yard rifle range. read more

Very nice range. Wish the ramp down to rifle range was different and that there were vertical dividers in the pistol ranges like it used to be years ago. Steel would be nice for safety reasons. Range needs distance markers in both pistol and rifle ranges. read more
