I was a little hesitant to try this place out with mixed reviews, but I am glad I did. It is easy to miss from the road, as it's in a shopping center. So be mindful of that. I got the shrimp, fries, and a side of hushpuppies. Price was decent for the amount of food I got. Food was delicious and perfectly cooked. I would definitely recommend. New owners , so nasty !!!! They confused and unorganized. Order a dozen of crabs for 30.00 dollars only gave me half of a dozen glad I check before I left told them refund me . They told me they don't refund I can wait for the next half get home they take the backs of the crabs now . Which when the cooking them make them so watery . So far I have 5 out 12 musty . Great little neighborhood fish spot and very reasonable prices. The 3 (big) pieces of fried whiting, fries, cole slaw, and hush puppies for $6.55 is one of the best deals in town and very delicious. Another bargain was the "side" of fried oysters. It included eight large and tasty oysters fried to perfection. If you're looking for simple fried seafood to go, you can't do much better. Today I had the scallops and oyster dinner ($10.99). I received 4 scallops (which were 2 cut in half) and 4 oysters! Quality of crabs out when every crab spot in the area. I am specifically talking about blue crabs. You can get a dozen of females easy for under $15. I do love their jimmys and enjoy them very much but they rarely have them. This is not a eat and seafood place. Here's a tip call ahead for going to get your crabs. They can get full pretty fast with my walk in customers. I prefer Wickers for eat in crabs, but Kings Seafood is by far the best for takeout. Crabs are always very clean. Never disappointed when I get food from here. This will always be my go to spot for fried shrimp. They clean their shrimp so well, the batter is crispy and not oily. The prices are reasonable. The parking lot always have parking. However there's only really one table in there so I'm guessing they don't really want people to sit and stay because most of the time the table is accompanied by people waiting for takeout. Its a small mom & pop seafood pickup place that's just absolutely EXTRAORDINARY! I have been coming here for 3 years now and not once was the food just good... its OUTSTANDING!! I usually get the Lunch Special A: 3 Piece whiting fish served with hush puppies, french fries and coleslaw for $5.56 including tax. I have tried their fried crabs as well and they are just AMAZING! The meals are prepared right when ordered so you get it nice and hot, and takes less than 10 minutes to cook. I recommend calling for a pickup if you're on a tight schedule and you don't want to have to wait. Here's just a sample of what you can order: chicken tenders, chicken wings, trout, flounder, spot, croaker, shrimp, scallops, oysters, catfish, tilapia, crab cakes, softshell crab, clam strips, and male or female crabs which is seasonal (March to November). The first time I came to kings seafood the food was great. The service was quick. Definitely recommend ordering via phone if possible. Second time the food tasted as if it had sat in oil all night and really messed with mine and my husbands stomach. The hush puppies are really good here and so are the shrimp. The food here is actually amazing!!! The scallops are so divine, sweet, succulent and perfectly fried! The shrimp, dish, sides even down to the cocktail sauce is all really REALLY good!! The owner is so kind and very accommodating. They go out of their way to make sure you are happy. I THINK I seen a sign that they take EBT on uncooked food-but don't quote me. The quality of seafood is extremely poor i ordered the whiting and shrimp the shrimp and fish was mostly breading and very cheap quality meat, the fish was extremely mushy like it may have been old and the food was not seasoned. Also the customer service is HORRIBLE. The owner and his wife are extremely NASTY and short tempered i went in and asked for extra condiments for my DRY food and was told they only give a certain amount per customer. When i called to make an order over the phone the man told me he can not take my phone order and just hung up. Very rude please do not waste your money on this bland food. These people serve the worst seafood that I have ever tasted. I am surprised that they are still in business. My wife brought me fried butterfly shrimp that was extra greasy and upset my stomach. I also recieved what these people claim to be a crab cake. It was very salty and was nothing but filler. The only thing which resembled crab in this crab cake was pieces of shell. I recently, visited with my sister and order the same thing I been ordering the seafood platter and asked that they hold the crabcake because I do not like it. My husband and I ate here for dinner. I'm from this part of the country, so I knew what to expect, but he was disappointed. I ordered a fish combo while he got the scallops and oysters. I received so much fish that I could barely finish. He on the other hand received about 4 of each. The portion size of the sides was really small...in a little plastic cup with a lid. They were even lacking in the fry department. If you are looking for homemade sides, this isn't the place for you. In conclusion, the food was fried well. Portion size is pretty small, unless you get fish I guess. The food is also pretty cheap. I am a seafood lover so I know good food versus junk. This place is top notch. It is more of a carryout place, so do not expect any fancy decor or excellent service, but the food speaks for itself. I ordered the C1 Seafood platter..there was enough food for two people but I refuse to share it. The prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food you get. Every thing is cooked hot to order so you will have a short wait. The fried platter is not greasy or heavily breaded, so you can really taste the seafood. Even the hush puppies are good. I meant to add a pic of my overflowing plate but I ate it too fast! It didn't get 5 stars just because one of the staff members has a nasty attitude. The regular staff is great though. I am very disappointed in the service my father and fiancé received when visiting this restaurant today. My fiancé took my father to King's to treat him to a nice lunch at a place his family had been to in the past. The Korean gentleman (I know this because I have been here before and am 1/2 Korean myself and have spoken to this gentleman in Korean) behind the counter took the order for over $25 dollars while my father was standing next to him without issue. When my fiancé went back up to the counter to add a drink to the order he gave him two $1 bills to pay for it. The Korean gentleman held the dollar bill up to the light and proceeded to mark the bill with the counterfeit pen. As my father knows some Korean he asked the man in both English and Korean why he felt the need to check the $1 bill the man responded that it looked washed, which it did not. My father explained that he just pulled it out of his wallet. My issue is that he had no problem taking the initial payment when my father was standing there, however, when my fiancé returned to add on he made a scene out of a $1 bill. I am extremely disappointed at the disrespectful nature of how he handled the situation and will not be returning to this restaurant. read more
