Since this school decided to retaliate I took my review down until I was able to get them into yet another school bc the pastor didn't like me informing parents of the things that were being done to my children here calling the pastor of my kids new school and prevented them from going there. FROM PARENT TO PARENT, MOTHER TO MOTHER, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL SENDING YOUR KIDS HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT THERE WELLBEING. I have 3 kids that attended. My oldest attended since he's was 2. I have only watched it decline these past 2 yrs since the new pastors took over. W/in these past 2yrs my son has been punched in the face, tooth dislocated & then having it pulled. (Kinder). Then while trying to learn @ school he should feel safe at gets kicked walking up stairs by another child telling him he wants to "Kill him". (1st Grade) When I brought this up that this was not ok. I was informed that, "Oh, ya know kids and video games." Like, no, I don't. This is unacceptable behavior to allow. I have tried to have multiple meetings w/the pastors and principal and it took me over 1yr to get that meeting. Which was a joke in itself. We took time off to handle these issues. The pastors literally told us to our faces they do not like to focus on the school side of things and only like to focus on the church side of things.Are you kidding me? Why would you take over a church and school if you only want to focus on one side you should have just joined a church. You have our children's education in your hands and yet you don't want to focus on the school side? Now we had to make an additional meeting bc the pastors were unfit to handle the situation. I tried to have multiple meetings w/the principal when I brought up issues instead of her dealing with it she sent us a de enrollment form. So we thought if we met with the pastors this would be handled bc they're suppose to be the top of the chain. Boy were we wrong. So the pastors made us have an additional meeting w/the principal for intentionally de enrolling our kids. We only found this out due to the re enrollment fees not being taken out and the registrar informing us the principal asked her to not take our fees out bc we wanted a meeting. So for my son getting bullied you're going to retaliate against us for bringing these issues to the forefront? After dealing with the mishandling of these situations we decided to pull our kids out of this school for their safety. I will also mention other safety concerns. Homeless people sleeping in front of the school. Two people walk up on campus have no child that attends KVCS, ask to use the restroom on the blacktop. They allow these people in the school. Can you imagine if a child was in that RR and these people were pediphiles & did something to one of our children? Now the nail in the coffin of why our kids were pulled out on top of EVERYTHING ELSE was bc I went to p/u my son for an appt thank god I did bc I would not have known this was occurring. I walked in & was informed my son was in the back room w/ a psychiatrist. WITHOUT MY CONSENT. (Behind a closed door w/minor). When I asked if I was going to get an email or a phone call about this I was told by the psychiatrist, "By law I don't need to tell you anything." The school did not call me or inform me this was happening. Come to find out forms were forged w/o my knowledge or consent. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR CHILDREN! I can go on and on about the negatives of this place. They're NOT about the kids they're about the money. Your child is nothing but a # here. The preschool can't even keep a teacher. Most of the BEST teachers have left here that should tell you EVERYTHING. I should also mention in the preschool I walked in for my younger son's bday and they HAD HIM FACING A WALL and told me he's just been a lot. So how many other times is my son being mistreated? I pulled him out immediately and had to have him at work with me bc of the mistreatment he endured. He cried every morning coming to this place not wanting to go and now I know why. He LOVES the school he goes to now. Then my 7yo tells me after leaving this place that homeless people across the street from the school playground would stare at them watching them play.This school is horrible and I can give you plenty more reasons but I think I gave you enough. I have to let other prospective parents know what is occurring bc this could be your child. PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN PLEASE!! read more

Hi Jocelyn A. I'm the father of the boy you witnessed that vomited at the school. I can't speak to how the front desk responded to you, but I will fill you in on my son's condition. I'm only doing this because I do take illnesses seriously and if my son was ill I would have kept him home. He too spent time in the ER last month for RSV so I can understand your concern. My son has asthma and a gag reflex. The gag reflex causes him to easily throw up. This sometimes can be triggered by stuffing his mouth too much or even a heavy cough. His asthma isn't too bad normally, but sometimes when he talks too fast (cold variant asthma). This is what happened on that day, he coughed heavily which triggered his gag reflex. He was sent home due to him throwing up, but we are working with our patrician to get an exemption. Not every sneeze is a cold, not every cough is a virus, and not every throw up is a sign of something contagious. As parents we should look out for each other, I would have appreciated if you asked what happened and expressed your concern in person. God bless. read more

My daughter went to this school years ago, the principal Mr Prescott and vice principal Ms Maple are VERY incompetent! My daughter suffered physical and emotional abuse and bullying at this school by them and a couple classmates. In 2nd grade a kid tied a jump rope around her neck and dragged her around the playground and not a single adult supervising did anything, we didn't know till I picked her up from school! My husband an OPD sergeant of police showed up to the school next day and found out everyone in the office knew and the incident and the boy who did it would be suspended, that was a LIE! That boy walked into my daughter's classroom the next day! She was also accused of being sexually inappropriate with other girls in the bathroom and was pulled into the principal's office and scolded for said incident even though that was her first day back from a 2 week absence because we were in Carson city saying goodbye to my dying dad her papa! And had JUST buried my dad the day before!!!! She wasn't even there!!!!! We finally took her out like many before us and I homeschooled her. This school caused so much trauma that at 21 she's still in therapy from the lack of adult supervision and a lack of moral values! My daughter was the scape goat for a lot of her white counterparts in class, the principal wasn't capable of helping her at all. The only thing good about this school was her 5th grade teacher and the drama teacher! Everyone else at this school isn't interested in your child's education or health. Be very cautious of this school! After years of therapy she's now a senior in university majoring in biomedical engineering BECAUSE we pulled her out of this hell hole of a school!!! KV is hell for kids do not pay for your kids to go to this school! It's NOT worth it! I'm still contemplating a lawsuit it's with in statute of limitations! read more

Worst school you can send your children to. The Pastors are horrible here. Pastor can't even look me in my face when I'm addressing issues man to man with him. They are all about money and nothing else. Lie about children, avoid you when you try and have a talk with them. Have teachers write false reports on children even when those teachers aren't even the ones witnessing an incident. Have you pick up your children, go to the school to speak to someone on why you need to leave work to pick up your child and no one has any answers as to why. Go to find the teacher that claimed an incident happened only to find out the incident never occurred. Asked to speak to Pastor, told he's not there only to run into him in hallway running away. TALK ABOUT A JOKE! The MOST un-Christian like school I have ever came across. Horrible!! Also, my wife called the pastor out on being a PE teacher prior to taking this Christian school over and then him and his wife change their bios on the KVCS website. What does that tell you? Also if you notice all there teachers are new bc all the good ones left and they can't keep one which should tell you how horrible it is. They couldn't even keep there horrible principal. When you know better you do better that's why we left. Our kids are thriving despite the Pastors attempt to ruin my child's future at a new school. Save your time, money and patience with this school. Even look at the horrible reviews by multiple parents. Even past students wrote reviews of there horrible experiences. What does that tell you? The front office staff was completely unorganized. We felt like they didn't communicate with one another. During our walk through we were told a bunch of things and then after our daughter started none of it was true or accurate. Our daughter started in Oct so the school had already been in progress. We took her out of public school and put her in private so she could do in person when the pandemic shut the schools down. It was kindergarten. We were told a certain start time and made sure to arrive early on her first day to introduce her to the teacher etc. Only to arrive and find out the kinder class started a half hour earlier than we were told. We walked into a classroom of kids staring at her. The teacher wasn't friendly or welcoming the entire month she attended. Whenever we asked the front staff about something being different then what we thought when we signed her up no one knew anything. Another example is when going over the school uniforms we were under the impression it was a certain way and then on the very first week my daughter attended they sent her home with a write up. The teacher embarrassed my daughter instead of coming to my husband or I explaining the situation since we were new. We had her in a tan uniform dress and apparently only certain dresses were aloud. It wasn't the fact that we had to be told she couldn't wear that certain dress because we would have apologized and then made sure to know the correct uniform dress code. It was the fact that she had just enrolled and been there only a few days ( in KINDER ) and instead of just telling us she wrote her up and gave her the write up in front of her class. I remember my daughter coming home so upset. The final straw for us was billing issues and being over charged. It took my husband going down and actually doing the math with the gentleman for him to realize his mistake and then it was a process to deal with the overcharge. My daughter is incredibly outgoing & brave and I knew right away this school wasn't for us because of how she came home everyday. She wasn't excited for school and started to dread it. I am so glad I listened to my intuition and my daughter's feelings. We decided to pull her out and put her in a different private school and had the complete opposite experience thankfully. It was incredibly refreshing how organized and well managed the school was and how we always knew what was going on. I know a lot of people who have their children attend Kings Valley with no issues but this was our experience and I honestly could never recommend them to anyone. Our daughter wakes up happy to go to school now and loves all their activities they put on. read more

My son has been going to King's Valley since kindergarten and is now in second grade. Enrolling him in this school was the best decision we've ever made! The teachers are amazing, loving and communicative - they treat their students like their own children. The office staff is friendly and eager to help with anything they can. Every student in my sons class is lovely and kind! I don't worry about him at school at all because I know he is being taken care of. His confidence has grown so much since he has attended and he comes home happy every day and excited to go the next day. If you want to be apart of a school that truly feels like family I would highly recommend King's Valley! read more

I went to this school, made great memories and friends that I know will last throughout the years. The teachers there are both good and bad though, their ways of teaching unique and interesting. I played on their soccer team and it was very inclusive! Their Performing Arts program was so much fun! I loved how this school has so much to offer and introduce the students too. read more

my review rating is for the front desk staff, not for the school itself. this week we had just gotten back from winter break, my child brought home norovirus the week that break started from the school. it tore through my whole entire house and i had to be hospitalized for it, it was nonstop vomiting, diarrhea, fever, chills, stomach pain etc for my entire family. needless to say i was quite worried when i saw a child throwing up vomit in the grass area outside the preschool classrooms. this child is in my sons class. the father of the child seemed to be leaving so i thought okay no worries he's taking him home. turns out he brought him to the bathroom to be cleaned up, and as i was leaving i witnessed them walking back to the classrooms- assuming dad is going to leave him there i tell the front office immediately. i said that i had just gotten over norovirus over break and i don't think a child who is throwing up should be allowed to stay in school (there has to be a health code policy on this in their preschool handbook i am going to double check). the two women up front, i kid you not, LAUGHED IN MY FACE and said "okay". that is all, no "what did the child look like? did you know the child's name? is the child in your kids class?". nothing to identify the sickly child. not only is that rude to not care about the health of a bunch of preschoolers but it's pure negligence. i'm not sure if the front desk staff has an infectious disease protocol to follow or some sort of health code to stick to but there was no follow up and no help from them. again i want to make it clear, my negative experience was purely with the front desk staff. not the preschool/school itself. i then called the preschool program director who i give 5 stars to, she is amazing! she handled the incident immediately and even called me back to let me know that she appreciated my concern. we had a lovely phone call, i'm not sure how she spells her name but her name is Lori. she's been in the business for 47 years she said and she takes infectious disease super seriously on her campus. she saved the day on this! thank you to people like Lori who care about public health. read more

I'd give it a 0! Or even negative score! Very bad preschool, my son was in the pre-k class, the kids in this class are full of bad words and have more uncivilized manners! We were exhausted by massive stomach infections and flu and had to take time off work to take care of our children, and the school did nothing to stop them! Teachers are not responsible, my child was injured at school without any notice! The Preschool Director's attitude towards the children is terrible. In the end, we decided to withdraw from school and informed the preschool director two months in advance. Despite repeated urging, she did not correct the refund. We contacted her by multiple emails but received no response. I don't understand and I can't believe it! This is the way and attitude of a teacher who has worked there for 10 years. I would NOT advise any kid to go there. It would be a disaster! read more

My daughter recently graduated the Preschool program at King's Valley. She was with the program for two full years and still remains in it for the Summer program until Kinder starts in August. Where do I begin on how wonderful of an experience it has been? To start, every single employee we have come across (both the preschool and regular school program) has been kind and welcoming. Most importantly, the teachers in the preschool program have done a fantastic job molding my daughter's brain and preparing her for Kindergarten. When I drop her off, I know that she will be in great care and loved, allowing me to go to work without worry. She loves school and frequently asks for more homework! Preschool is not supposed to be a daycare - they serve with purpose and ensure that each kid learns and develops to the best of their ability. One major difference I have seen from my own personal experience in public vs. private schools - they take the initiative to remove children from the program that are endangering the other kids or affecting the program negatively. We all have a contract and code of conduct to follow and it is one of the reasons we choose to PAY for this type of education. I also trust that these teachers will let me know if my child is having any educational, emotional, or behavioral issues in school. I've also volunteered and been a part of certain fundraisers and functions at the school which has allowed me to witness the patience and care the preschool director and teachers have for these kids - I highly recommend doing this! We are looking forward to our daughter's next journey in the K-8 side of the school! If it is anything like the preschool program, we will be so blessed! read more

Kings Valley is one of the worst schools anyone can go to. My child was bullied here and teachers doesn't treat students equally. One day she came home soaked in orange juice and the person who did it was never scolded by her teacher because they had a good relationship with their father. They didn't even make a phone call to her parents about what happened. The teacher will not care whether you get hurt or not, it all depending on your donations to school. She was in kindergarten and in first grade. Non of her teacher helped her with her potential until I moved her to public school. She finally found teachers to encourage her and not have favoritism. King's Valley have favoritism and it's obvious that they favor the parents who spend more money or more time through the school. They divide the students by the parent's status. But In public school she went to, teachers would smile and treat each student equally not like in King's Valley. So if you want a school where teachers look at your kids as a money making machine, then this is your school. This is Capitalist society at its best read more

My daughter goes to King's Valley Christian Preschool and it is absolutely amazing! She is 3 now and has been going since she was 2. We started in room 6 with Ms. Cathy and are now with Ms. Sara in room 7. These women are so gifted with these children and born to be Pre-school teachers. My daughter has improved in fine and gross motor skills, listening, and social skills. All of these teachers are so gifted, but I am most grateful for Ms. Sara and Ms. Cathy for giving my daughter such a great foundation. Ms. Sara also writes detailed notes to us if there was any sort of situation that occurred that day which we greatly appreciate! Sometimes it's a simple request for diapers but she will put in there what she did well for the day. Other times, she may have gotten hurt or needed a time out but there is ALWAYS a positive remark! I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing King's Valley family! read more

I have children in 2nd, kindergarten and preschool. I can't speak high enough about how pleased we are with the school. My older too love the Elementary school. They're learning so much including some great social and emotional skills. They were actually bummed that we have Christmas break coming up (and they know I always plan fun things for us to do during break they just love their school THAT much). The electives are wonderful... Spanish, art, performing art, STEAM, PE, library and tech! We only had one of those in our public school. They love chapel days as well. There's good diversity in the school as well and they even teach about different cultures and ethnicity. We're very happy and fully recommend this school. About the preschool my daughter LOVES it. We were even talking about going to dentist and she said "mama please don't take me out of school.. I don't want to miss my learning time." Furthermore, my daughter lost a very special stuffy. I mentioned it to the school who sent an email out thinking perhaps it got put into wrong nap bag. Her teacher told me she searched the class high and low. Even more, the director called me personally to say she'd replace him. I couldn't believe it! Even when I told her it might have not been lost at school she still insisted she wanted to ensure our girl had a special stuffy to snuggle with. Beyond thoughtful and just shows the love they have for my girl. Thankfully, he has since been found. I was just blown away by the response of the team. My daughter really enjoys preschool and I am overjoyed with the staff there. Highly recommend the preschool. YOU WILL FEEL LIKE FAMILY HERE! read more

Went here YEARS ago. I'm unaware of the learning situation now, but the school seemed off. When I transferred, I was severely behind in math and science. They did not teach the correct curriculum needed. I could not even add or subtract properly... which is concerning. My brother had a teacher who no longer teaches. She increased his OCD, which maybe this school does not believe in, but she would constantly make him erase his handwriting over and over again. His handwriting is like a typewriter... which should never have been pushed on a kindergartener. I also have a memory of us being forced to sit on colored dots in the hot sun and on black asphalt after lunch. We were told we were too noisy and this was our punishment. Totally contradicts itself. If kids are hyper and noisy, you should let them go outside and play. I miss the afterschool teachers and hope they are well. Other than that, it was okay for what it was. Nothing special or over the top, considering it was a private school. read more

This will be my family's 3rd year at Kings Valley and we absolutely love it! First of all, it is extremely diverse community of student's. The school embodies the whole child, and proves it by offering not only top notch academics, but art, sports, and drama. Speaking of drama, the drama department here is second to none, and if your child posseses a love for drama they will love here here. Teachers, Ms. Margie, and Ms. Amanda put on the most amazing productions you will see in the East Bay, and have a way of pulling the inner performer out of our kids. Their Broadway productions are top notch. They successfully pulled off The Fiddler on the Roof this past school year. Their Math curriculum encourages an algebraic way of thinking at a very young age. They also have math club, science club, chess club, zumba, and so much more. The teachers, all of which are credentialed, know what they are doing, and care deeply for their kids. Weekly chapel on Wednesday is very special as it is hosted by the kids of the school from various classes. Our children truly learn the meaning of shining and giving within their communities, across our borders, and around the world, just as Jesus would have us do. Mr. Prescott is a great principal. He stays on top of our academics, ensuring we are cutting edge in our way of learning. If that all isn't enough, the office staff of any school is of the utmost importance. My son just completed the first session of the Jump Start Program at KVCS. Ms. Hildreth is a very good teacher! In those five weeks of the program he learned to identify lower and upper case letters as well as the sounds each letter makes. I was impressed how quickly he learned. He made new friends who will be in his Kindergarten class this coming school year. The reason for the four stars is because my husband and I were not informed that part of the admissions requirement was to participate in the Jump Start Program until I received an acceptance email. This caused a bit of stress on us since my husband and I are both working parents. Needless to say we figured it out. So far we are happy with KVCS. Ok where do I start. We enrolled our daughter when she was 2yo in a day care program and she stayed there until she just graduated 2nd grade. We also enrolled our son when he turned 2 in their day care program as well. Individuals who are watching the kids are bragging about their schools that they finished, and experience that they have, but they lack common sense and bottom line suck at their job(pre school and kindergarten staff). Both of our kids would come home and would have their mouth full of sand, clothes ripped etc. when we asked about it , we were told "oh they sneak away to eat sand". Then our daughter started 1st grade and her teacher ( she was 21yo at the time Ms. Leon) said she is to energetic we need to have her medicated and observed. My son fell from 8ft platform/ play structure that he was not even supposed to be on and they said that it was his fault. Teacher said and I quote " Stefan is sneaky he waits for me to look away so he can do something he is not supposed to" . Mind you my son was 2 at the time. He ended up in a emergency room and even doctors said that only reason he was not seriously hurt was because he is big boy. He is 2yo but is over 3ft tall and 45lbs and wears 5T clothes. They did not even apologize for it, but did quickly blame him and then director of pre school had nerve to tell me that my son needs to be observed as well because he did not even cry when he fell down 8ft platform. So obviously due to everything stated above I lost my mind and accused them of mishandling the situation. That's when they all started pulling their experience and degrees out of their asses to cover the same. I was so frustrated and afraid because at this time I did not know if my kid was ok( he was still in the emergency room), I asked a director of pre school what if my kid died or broke his neck/back? She was quite for a while and then said that would be bad, at which I ( in angry state) replied yea I would have come there and toss the teacher that watch him from that same platform on her neck. They automatically disregarded everything else that happened and jumped all over that statement and forbid me from going to their school , talking to teacher etc, and essentially stated that my son could not stay at their school, that he needs dedicated person at all times and they do not provide that type of service. I'm not mad for them kicking my kids out of their school because I was going to move them out anyway. This school is not cheap, we paid $1800 per month for our two children to go to their school. I just want all of you parents that are considered enrolling your kids in their pre school and kindergarten program , to know what to expect. They do not take any responsibility and will put the blame on your 2-3yo kids and are very quick to say that they need to be medicated and observed.Both of my kiddos are perfectly fine and are now in a different private school. We had nothing but a positive feed back from the staff and their new teacher. My recommendation is to stay away from KVCS if you care about your children and their well being. read more

This is the best school ever. My son goes there, he loves it. The teachers are great, friendly and just love the children. Everyday when I pick my son up he has to hug all his teachers and they all tell them they love him. They have great drama program, music and sports. Kids go to chapel every week. The prinicipal and pastor are both wonderful. I would recommend this school to anyone. It is a private school but the tuition is very affordable. I looked at every private school in the area and this is the only one that didn't make me cry when I looked at the price. It is worth the money in so many ways. read more

I have mixed feelings about this school. My child has been going here for some yrs. I think the elementary part of the school is great, the teachers love the students and take time with them. on the other hand the Jr high portion need some work. I don't think the Jr high teachers actually teach the students. They go over things in the classroom and the rest is for you to figure out at home. The bible teacher and the English teacher need to just STOP teaching. All I can say is watch out for those two. I love the staff except for the principle. The principle is a nice man, even thought to me his kindness seems a bit fake and he shows a bit of favoritism towards students. Other than that I give the school a 4. read more
