Exceptional move experience! I mean, I was going on a wing and a prayer when I chose Kings Van, but I definitely made the right choice. What caught my initial attention was the promotional offer I received by email and text. The cool thing is that they have a Promotions Center dedicated to offering special prices to high traffic areas at any give time. I happened to be traveling to a state they were offering a promo for at the time, and I was a little bit cautious because the price was so low. But, when I called them, it was totally legit, and they took me through a verbal qualification process. Once I knew that the price was solid, I had to pick a date. Unfortunately, most of my preferred dates were sold out because they had a heavy volume of reservations. Although this is not something they can control, I would say that this would be my only quasi complaint: the fact that I had to compromise more than I expected on my date flexibility. This doesn't apply to my delivery, because drop off was well within the window they allocated for me. In fairness, I waited for 3 days after I received the special offer email to follow up. If you happen to get a promotion or discounted email, don't wait, because while the price may in fact be your exact total, they have limited spots. I almost went with another mover because of the space shortage. On pick up, I received a notice before the movers got to my house which was nice because I had to pop out for a bit. They were in uniform, nicely groomed, and totally professional. I like the fact that their logos were on everything from uniforms to paperwork, to magnets, etc. It showed be that the corporation really cares about their image, and funds their advertising really well. The quality of the loading and unloading was amazing. So, I know that this is going to sound really weird/mean, but I get really grossed out around sweaty movers, and it makes me feel awful to see others working so hard physically, even though I know I am paying for the service. Surprisingly, theses movers had such good teamwork, and endurance, that they did not look weary or out of gas by the end. I helped them stay hydrated, but the company has really top of the line equipment for the movers that help them keep a steady pace with minimal push. One of the guys told me that they go through regular training sessions on more to review effective and time-saving strategies. They had a master plan for the loading process before they started, and they always made sure to stay out of my direct path when I was fixing last minute things in other areas of the home. I have a couple of dogs, and they were incredible with being careful, gentle, and friendly. Ironically, but something I already knew about, a neighbor a few doors down from me was having some of her household items moved by Kings on the same day. I went down to chat with her a couple of hours into my load and she was just as delighted as I was. Her crew was a bit more outgoing: they were playing feel good music for her kids from a portable stereo to ease the moving day pressure. Definitely a wise choice . I would trust this company with my valuables When I submitted my information online, I did not realize that I was going to receive at least 10 calls from different providers. These guys were the 2nd company to contact me, and I felt most comfortable with their staff. At first, I was a little cautious because their price was a few hundred dollars less than my lowest offer. However, after visiting their facility, and receiving prompt responses to all of my emails and phone calls, I knew that I wanted to choose them. My move was from Irvine, CA to Boston, MA, so I was freaking out about the timing of delivery, and coordinating a smooth move in. Fortunately, they handled all of my notifications regarding the status of my transit. I opted for their auto alerts, which made my life so much easier. It is difficult for me to pinpoint what aspect of their service was most appealing, because the whole thing was great! When I called in to get the price for the service, I simply gave the representative my "non-boxed" items. This was easy enough as I was home at the time, so I was just able to walk room to room and identify the things that I was not planning to place in a box. It might be important for me to add that I did at least one update to the initial rundown. However, they accept unlimited modifications to the inventory. So, the quote process took about 3-4 minutes and I received a "Binding Proposal," which was emailed to me. Everything the rep discussed with me, verbally, was identical to the fine print in their email contract. This is where they earned my trust. The other movers I was looking into had terms within their emails that were inconsistent with the verbal conversation. After I secured my reservation with $150 deposit, I then waited for my move date. Now, there were a lot of things that I liked about the move day process, so I will try to boil down the highlights: guys showed up in uniform new truck new equipment friendly Bruce, my foreman was a great team player, and very nice to his crew cleaned up all debris Tracked every single item before placing on the truck protective covers on my floor handled the transport of my SUV also follow up call after delivery never need to call them for status updates; they called me price stayed THE SAME I happen to work for a large insurance firm, which was planning a local move at their Boston facility within months of receiving my delivery. I told my supervisor about my experience, and they ended up booking with Kings Van Lines. The move took place about a week ago, and they are adding them onto their corporate roladex for future employee moves. That's a major breakthrough because Allied was previously on their roster. I guess they got bumped off and replaced by this company. I wish I could use them for my mother in law's local move coming up, but they only perform local service within Cali. First of all, that's me in the photo, in front of my prized amps. I was a nervous wreck about these amps before the crew at Kings Van Lines packed them like fine china and unloaded them in my new residence, in the exact same condition. If you are a collector, you will understand. So, I used Kings Van Lines yesterday to deliver my shipment to Raleigh, NC. They picked up in Camarillo, CA. The crew that showed up at my house was professional and well groomed. I pay attention to things like the condition of the dollies, the truck, the blankets, etc., and everything was in fair or good condition. That started off the day right. Then, I found out that the price I was quoted would remain exactly the same, down to the dollar. The guys had a plan before they even walked in my home. They decided that they would load all of the boxes first, effectively creating a wall against the back of the truck. Then, they moved their way onto furniture, and finally bulky items. Kings got my 3 bedroom, 2 bath home loaded in 5 hours (!). Even though I was paying a fixed rate up front, I was pleasantly surprised that I was able to get the movers in and out within such a short time span. Took advantage of the 30 day free storage, but only for 15 days. Right on schedule, the Dispatch team called me and asked me if I would need to extend my stay, or if I was ready with a delivery address. I told them that I had a destination, and the girl over the phone said "Great, we will post your shipment for delivery." 9 days later, I received my stuff on the east coast. I got a gift basket about 2 days after the service ended, with some housewarming tidbits...nice touch Kings. It was right around the time they were offering some type of promotion, so it was a feature of the promo. I will recommend this company to anyone I know. I feel light announcing their name to people from a mountain top because I have had a bad experience in the past, and I was very hesitant about going full service again. But, they restored my faith in moving companies. One piece of advice: if you want to save money, make sure to really have all of your boxes and fragile goods packed and sealed before the guys show up. I had some loose items that needed packing, and the cost for materials does add up. In fairness, they showed me their price sheet before the pick up day, but I just didn't give it that much consideration. Oh Kings Van Lines. Let me count the ways in which I love thee: 1) I found out about this company because the owner or manager or rep of the company worked out of the same office I attended once. A friend of mine, who is a regular member at the office told me that she represents a moving company. 2) Not too long after, the tenant I was subbing my apartment to had to move out in a rush. He did not give me enough notice, but that's beside the point. I made a call to this company, and either the same girl or another girl assisted me, and was extremely friendly and professional over the phone. I was a bit frantic because I didn't know how to begin the process, but she put me at ease, and quoted me in under 20 minutes for a move from Los Angeles to Denver, CO. 3) In case you're wondering by now, yes, I had to coordinate the move for my sub letter because he also happens to be a family member. Long story. 4) Price was more than competitive to 3 other quotes I obtained. 5) Delivery was quick, less than 10 days, and I was notified along the way. 6) Movers were not the same gentleman who appear on the photos below, but they were excellent. They maintained their stamina throughout the loading and wrapping process. 7) They wrapped the s**t out of my items. I don't even have fine china or anything notably valuable, but these guys took the time to carefully pad each item to the size and shape of the item. 8) There is a method to the madness when they load my shipment onto the truck for configuration. So, it's kinda like a game of tetris. They stack the heavier/sturdier items on the bottom, and work their way up. However, they also go through a training in which certain items are not stackable, meaning they are too fragile or sensitive to be stacked on. These items were identified and isolated from the rest of my goods. I have never seen any other mover take this much care. 9) They even followed up with me post-move. As if their stellar service didn't already impress me, I got a follow up call after the move to see how I settled in, and if there was anything else I needed. At this point, I am speechless. One final note: try to provide as much detail as possible regarding your move and residential accessibility, because this saves a lot of time on the move date. Unfortunately, I failed to tell them about certain obstacles they would face, coming up to my house, and I had a flight leaving the same day, so this created a prolonged load. I love Kings! It is beyond impressive how well they packed up my belongings and got me moved in the blink of an eye. Allow me to share the detailed parameters of my move, to anyone who can relate. My destination was Houston, TX from Riverside, CA. I opted for the full service move, with the packing option. Kings rounded up a crew of 4 fantastic movers, each professionally trained and skilled. A couple of the guys focused on packing boxes and fragile items, while the other guys loaded the wrapped up items. The even distribution of labor compressed the time down quite a bit. I expected the packing and loading process to take about 7 hours. They did it in 5 and 1/2. Once everything was loaded, they took care to clean the area and removed all the disposable surplus of packing materials. They swept the area to make sure that nothing was left behind and even did a double check on the master inventory record... wow, just wow. My experience in the booking phase was just as satisfying. The rep I spoke with was available every time I called in. I didn't expect him to be there all the time, but it was just a convenient coincidence I guess. What set him apart from the other reps I spoke with (via competitors), was that he did not have the salesman/pushy demeanor. I later found out that they do not have a sales department; the reps are on salary rather than commission, so no incentive to push a booking. As for the condition of my stuff....pristine. I cross-referenced the condition of each item upon delivery against the master inventory manifest. I noticed that the description of the condition of the items were heavily leaned in my favor. The movers did not heavily scrutinize the dents and scratches that my furniture already had. Fortunately, I did not have to file a claim at all anyway. One word of advice to my fellow customers is to count for the longer side of the delivery window. I happened to receive my shipment right in the middle of the window quoted, but I think I got lucky. Allow at least 8 days prior to your desired delivery date for the pick up. If your stuff gets there sooner, than you'll just be pleasantly surprised. Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had with a business. It took them 42 days to get my stuff to my new place. YES THAT IS CORRECT IT TOOK THEM 42 DAYS TO DELIVERY MY STUFF. Alicia will quote you one price and then Sean will charge you more money once he has loaded the truck. So you are stuck with your stuff on the truck and its either pay them more money or they will unload the truck. Great job Sean. Now once they get to your new place they will tell you that their is another fee because they will only unload and move your stuff 75 feet from the truck which is basically to the front of any apartment building. Yet another thing they won't info you of till they arrive with your stuff 42 days later. And you will be a rock stuck in a hard place because they have your stuff and you will have no say in the matter. And if you want it back you will have to pay them more money because they say so. And they won't measure out the distance they will just give you a number???? Which for me was another $400 dollar estimate. Wow I'm having deja vu all over again. Then when you tell them this is ludicrous they will then try and cut you a deal and make it sound like they are your best friend. Oh and it has to be CASH yes CASH they will not except credit cards or a check for the extra fee. You tell me does that sound fishy! It sure did to me but I need my stuff. They actually said that if I didn't pay the extra fee THAT I COULD MOVE THE STUFF MYSELF. UM GREAT IDEA MOVING GUYS LET ME HIRE YOU AND THEN MOVE MY OWN STUFF INTO MY PLACE. Yes a moving company said I could move my stuff into my own place. I think they should put that on their business card! "The moving company that let you move your stuff!!!!!!" SO IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP ON YOUR FLOOR FOR 42 DAYS. LIVE IN AN EMPTY APARTMENT WITH PLASTIC FORKS AND PAPER PLATES. AND THEN WHEN YOUR STUFF FINALLY ARRIVES 42 DAYS LATER YOU WOULDN'T MIND IF SOME OF IT MISSING THAT THEY PACK AND HALF OF YOUR DISHES BROKEN THEN YES THIS IS THE COMPANY FOR YOU. read more

They did a stand up job Kings Van Lines moved my family from California to Ohio in September, and I have to say they did an outstanding job. We were initially contacted via email by Chris, a sales rep at Kings Van Lines. After we received an email explaining their services, we called in to get a more specific moving quote. Chris was so great. He went over an inventory list with my wife and I, explained all of the services that were included and what we could add additionally ins. if we wanted to. We opted to add full value insurance coverage and packing of our china. We were so comfortable with everything that Chris told us, that we went ahead and placed our reservation. Chris assured us that our price was locked in and would not increase and that we had secured the dates that we requested for the move. We still had two weeks before the actual move was to take place. In that two week period, we made a few changes to our inventory and packing requests and Chris gladly helped. On the day of pickup, the driver called at 9am to let us know he would be arriving within the hour. When the movers arrived (three guys total) they were so nice and helpful. They did a great job packing our china and taking great care of our furniture as they loaded it onto the moving truck. The driver said he would be arriving in Ohio two days later and to plan accordingly. On the delivery end, the crew arrived about thirty minutes earlier than they had planned (which was great). They placed all of our furniture where we told them and even unpacked our china for us! Overall, we were so nervous about moving and we had heard so many horror stories about a long distance move. This was one of the best reliefs I have ever felt. I hope that anyone reading this will contact Kings Van Lines if you are moving and you will be very pleased. I have moved up and down the east coast multiple times. After my first move from Miami to California, during which I used movers, I was very disappointed with the whole industry. I therefore moved from California to Wa. myself with multiple UHaul Trailers. This was a very tiresome and long experience. My most recent move was from Wa. to Ca. and I went with Kings Vanlines. Admittedly, I was sceptical at first, however the entire experience has been very eye opening and positive. Their quote over the phone was only a couple of hundred pounds off (probably due to the fact that I have a ridiculous amount of heavy Boxes). I dealt directly with Mike and he was at all time extremely professional, helpful and available. The Pickup (Wednesday):The three man team was late by only a few hours but they made up the time in loading everything carefully and efficiently. The team was courteous and willing to help pack the last few items. The team leader contacted the delivery driver directly in front of me to confirm the date of delivery (Sunday or Monday). En route (Friday):I received a phone call directly from the driver stating that he would be there on Sunday afternoon between 1pm and 2pm. He told me that the balance would have to be paid in terms of credit card. However, I had already discussed using a Cashier's Check with Mike previously. Again, not a problem. Delivery (Sunday):At noon, the driver contacted me that he was an hour away. All items were delivered carefully and efficiently. I have just finished unpacking and so far I do not see ANY thing damaged. However, Overall: Extremely professional moving company for a reasonable rate. 5 Star Company. With Kings, I was quoted the exact, correct price. That was the most important positive note about my experience with this company. Being the Type A, Alpha, super neurotic personality that I am, I was worried that I may not have budgeted enough for the move. But, all of that anxiety dissipated as soon as Kings showed up. They put me at ease, and literally took the reigns. My PM (Project Manager) was Sean. He and his crew introduced themselves and immediately consulted on a logistics plan regarding how my items would be loaded and configured on the truck. Another thing I loved was that they were in constant communication with their branch, submitting updates about their progress. This was my first time using a moving company and this was the best decision I could have ever made. I had a GREAT experience with Kings Van Lines . From the time I requested a quote until the last box was delivered, it has been nothing short of amazing. I requested a quote online. The very next day I spoke with Starr. My experience with Kings Vanlines was very positive. The quote supplied by Josh was detailed and complete. We were helping a family member move from Florida to California and needed to get an estimate by phone. Josh walked me through the estimate process and was helpful with last minute changes on my part. The movers were a true pleasure to work with. We loaded in Florida on 04-19 and unloaded in California on 04-27. Heston and Johntez were extremely knowledgeable and capable movers. Each item was carefully inspected and logged before loading. I was amazed at their ability properly protect and densely pack the truck. The furniture was very nice furniture and it all arrived just as it was before moving. I'm completely convinced that the crew assigned to do the move is the most important part. These guys are absolutely great at their trade. The actual price was just under the quoted price. Just like the Alka Selzer motto..."Oh, what a relief it is.." In this case, it is a tremendous sigh of relief to select Kings Van Lines to service my transport from Chatsworth, CA to Philly. I had a shipment of inherited items that needed to be send in a rush to the east coast due to an emergency family situation. It is important to note that the items were antique, baroque furniture, many imported from Italy. I had not heard of Kings Van Lines before. In fact, I went on a wing and a prayer and simply submitted my info on a website that promised me 3 quotes from 3 accredited/pre-screened providers. To my surprise, the level of packing was more professional that what I would expect from a major van line such as Mayflower. Each item arrived at the destination protected head to toe in shrink wrap (cool colors) and furniture pads. You literally could only see the shape of the item before unwrapping the levels of reinforcement. Not to mention, I was quoted a price, and they stuck to it, down to the nickel. This is an added bonus, as I was anticipating at least a little bit of an adjustments, but no. To wrap it up, pun intended, KVL came through 100%. read more

Remarkable mover. Seriously, this is my third time using this company, and I can't say enough good things. A couple of days ago, I received my stuff in Chicago and flew back to L.A. last night.....what an exhausting trip. Anyway, I was helping my sister with her move in. I coordinated the entire booking, from the reservation, to actually being there on the move date, to the move in. Not a single item was damaged. There was fine china, fiberglass, and crystal distributed throughout her boxes. Every box was labeled accordingly, and they were handled in the same fashion on drop off as they were on pick up. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't available for the move in, so the guys navigated 3 flights of stairs, without a single complaint. My price was also fair, and quite competitive with relation to other movers. Albert, Bruce, and Zoey were a pleasure to deal with in terms of the in office staff. The field crew was even more impressive, especially because they had the added element of intense labor. I was warned about shady movers for many years, but I can honestly say that once I went with these guys, I never went back. read more

I almost was ready to book with another company, but the over-the-phone customer service I received from these movers was so warm, I had to go with them. The guy who helped me set up my order was Albert, and he was especially patient. I was quoted $1542 for my move, and the price was honored to the penny. Even though they were not the cheapest, they were the second lowest rate I received, and the service over-compensated for the slightly higher rate. My shipment was delivered to my new home in Stamford, CT within 8 days, and I couldn't be happier. If you're feeling extra lazy, I urge you to go for their "Full Packing Upgrade." It was an affordable upgrade for move move, and included unlimited supplies and labor to pack up my entire inventory. Trust me, the trips you will save to the supply store and the labor frantically packing is well worth the extra change. Oh, and all of my things arrived in exactly the same condition they left in. I want to thank everyone at Kings Van Lines for the fabulous job they did moving my family from Los Angeles California to Dallas Texas. Joshua was my sales guy and I want to say that he was so nice and patient with us even when we called him 3 times a day. He answered all our questions and helped us through the entire process. The day of the move came and the movers arrived at 9 am to begin packing and moving a 4 bedroom home. They came in a tractor trailor with 4 men. The men who moved us were very nice and polite. They worked diligently throughout the day packing our boxes and wrapping our furniture. I have to say that these guys knew exactly what they were doing, they were professionals. By 8:30 that night they had us packed and loaded. We signed our paperwork and the movers left. Now it is 5 days later and the movers came and unloaded us yesterday. Ok, this is my second time using Kings in less than 2 months, and I am more pleased than the first time, which I did not think would be possible. Unfortunately, my temporary residence was right in the middle of a construction zone, and the noise became unbearable. I immediately called Kings again and their Customer Service team booked an emergency move. Because I did not have a final destination yet (can you blame me....I just moved in), they are kindly storing my shipment until I have a new location to deliver to. There is a possibility that my shipment may go out of state, in which case they offered me the first month of storage for free. I think it is a great incentive for long distance hauls. So, here I am thanking KVL for another amazingly short and professional load and pack. Their hourly rate was competitive, and the crew was highly trained.
