Didn't see a Yelp category for Kingston 12 Patty shop and had to create one for my fellow Yelpers. I visited this shop a few weeks ago when it was decently warm for being February. Heard about this place from some patty connoisseurs. Use to frequent the Eglinton strip for beef Pattie's, mainly around the Oakwood and Eglinton (Randy's Patty). The first time I was here I wanted to pick up a box of frozen Pattie's but ended up with a single patty to take away with me, let's just say I should of brought more change with me to grab one more. Today (2nd), I came back after class and right away ordered 2 boxes and a single patty. It was delicious, the store clerk was friendly and was very attentive. Was hungry after just consuming that single patty that I air fried a patty when I got home that it came out piping hot from all the moist fillings. Don't think the 2 boxes will last, will definitely come back soon to refill when the freezer isn't full. Almost time to re-up, because I bought frozen Pattie's the kind lady working behind the counter gave me the baking procedures to utilize a conventional big oven of 350f/175c for 25/30mins. I used an air fryer instead at same temp but at a reduced time of 15mins till desired shell/flake. The flavour came bursting out with ooey gooey goodness.

It has that Smokey jerk chicken flavour that you can only get in Jamaica. Their jerk chicken is fresh, never behind a glass to be heated. First your get your rice (if you're going for the convo) and then you go outside and the chef puts either Jerk Chicken or Jerk Pork into your plate. You can get a small for $11 or medium for $18. You can also just get meat only for $12 (small), large was maybe $20. The hours are odd though. 8:30pm-2:30am so you might not be a person that eats that late, but if you do, perfect spot! There are a couple of seats in here, but it's mainly for takeout. Cool staff as well.

When it was time for me to order a different girl (girl2) helped me. I accidentally told her small jerk chicken then after I changed it to a large. girl2 gave me the dirtiest look, and girl1 told her to just change it for me. When it was time to pay girl2 said it's $18 then quickly changed her mind and said $19. I handed her $20 and then girl2 asked girl1 for $1 change. Girl1 questioned the $1 change because normally they would give $2 change for a large jerk chicken. I did not say anything as she was already giving attitude and her face was not having it. It was also not my turf. Girl 2 basically changed the price for my jerk chicken based on her mood. Terrible service from girl2. Not impressed... Food is good but unfortunately her service brought down the rating.

So some web searches found Sheryl's - located on Eglinton Weat near Dufferin. A higher power encouraged me to go in, but making it pour rain right as I was getting in. Immediately I could smell the Carribean spices. Mmm mmm mmm! I ordered by curry goat roti, wish coleslaw and Diet Coke. While I was waiting I spotted their authentic Carribean breakfast menu and I knew this was a good place! Now I need to figure out how to get there for breakfast. Anyways on to the to the goat roti. It's bone-in but there was very little bone in mine. My diabetes was thankful that there was no potato filler in it. But the taste. Yummy. The flavour built for the first few bites, to a crescendo of greatness. I should also mention that the roti shell was a dhalpuri roti. I'm not used to Jamaican places offering a superior roti shell. Overall this is an 8/10. Cost was $24. I will repeat.

Real friendly staff and community, I went on Jan 2 and everyone was greeting each other wishing everyone a good happy new year and the server had manners (not always the case at Jamaican restaurants) Great ambiance with lots of natural light coming in. I'd highly recommend.

The space is super clean and welcoming with a solid variety of menu options. I went for a half dozen beef patties, served piping hot and incredibly fresh. The flaky crust and flavorful, saucy beef filling deliver that authentic Jamaican punch. Definitely not skimpy or dry. If you're in the GTA area, grab some. This is a small hole in the wall establishment -- it is a quick service, take out place only. It will never win an award for a beautiful interior design. You walk up to the cash register and a lovely lady with a sunny disposition will take your order and give you a ticket. In my case it was 2 Beef Patties and a Diet Coke for under $11. A few minutes later, my connection came out of the back room. Order 46! And he handed me a brown paper baggy with my goods in it. I took off like a bandit. My original plan was to bring the patties back to the office. But just like war, no plan survives an encounter with Patty time! I ate one on the subway and the other in the food court of my office. So these were fresh patties with fine layers of flaky crusty goodness. The beef was fresh and more plentiful than those frozen patties at the grocery store. There was some spice, but definitely mild. Overall, I'd score it a 78/100. Or 4 out of 5 stars. Remember I'm comparing this for what it is. It not haute cuisine, but if you want a Patty, Randy will be your King.
