Got food delivery from here and I am blown away! I wanted one thing and one thing only - beef patties! On food delivery platforms you're able to either get your beef patties as singles, dozens, fresh (hot), or frozen. I opted for a dozen of fresh baked once patties and they still got delivered pretty warm when I got them. Got the mild beef patties and I was truely blown away by the flakiness of the pastry but more so super impressed by the amount of beef filling in these. I thought the filling to flake ratio was perfect for my liking. The mild beef pattie just has a tiny kick of spice, so I'd definitely be getting spicy or extra spicy next time I order from here again. I'm super impressed and can't wait to get more here! I am not a huge sandwich lover, but Allwyn's jerk pork sandwich is soo good that whenever I am in the area and need a quick bite, it's the first thing I think about. I get mine extra spicy (still could be hotter) with lots of coleslaw. A small little walk-In/takeaway restaurant for a quick dinner. There is a couple of tables and chairs but us suspect most do a takeaway. Our neighbours come here often and usually bring a little something back for us so we figured it was time for us to return the favour. We had both the jerk chicken and jerk pork stuffed sandwiches as well as a sampling of patties. I will say, the jerk pork was definitely the winner for me! I would likely get that one going forward. There's also a nice variety of rice a peas dishes that I find quite intriguing. It's not easy to make a selection! Everything looks really good and as soon as you walk in, if you weren't hungry to begin with, the smells will soon change that! Sorry I don't have any pics. Family friendly, some food does have some mild heat, plan accordingly if getting food for young kids. We got a Jerk Chicken and a combo box of Curry Goat and Oxtail, all with rice and peas and coleslaw. The jerk chicken is boneless, flavour was decent, heat was mild, but it doesn't have that smoky char that I'm used to when I get jerk chicken. The oxtail and curry goat were fork tender, and not spicy, my 3yr old was able to enjoy some. The coleslaw was not as sweet as I'm used to, but it was still a refreshing crunch. I finally made it to Allwyn's in Pickering to try their Jamaican food! They have six locations across the GTA and this one, I believe, is the newest. I had their Curry Goat, while my friends had the Jerk Chicken, and a combo of Curry Goat and Oxtail, all with Rice and Peas and Coleslaw. The curry goat was flavourful. So was the oxtail. Interestingly, the chicken was boneless. I really liked their creamy coleslaw and their hot sauce had a very nice flavour. On my way out, I got a small order of Curry Chicken, and an order of their Beef Pumpkin Soup for dinner that day. Both were generous servings of tasty goodness! We were looking for some Caribbean takeout on a Friday night. This place has multiple locations. There was a lineup once you enter and there are a few small tables for people who want to eat. Most of the customers were takeout. We ordered the Jerk chicken and jerk pork dinner. The jerk chicken and pork is baked in house. The dinner consists of rice and beans coleslaw and freshly sliced jerk chicken and pork. At first glance you would think the meat is dry but once you bite into all the flavours start to pop. It's no wonder Allwyn's got multiple locations as the quality is in each and every bite. There are jerk wings available Wednesday to Sunday. $5.99 Soup specials from Tuesday to Sunday. There's jerk chicken sandwiches and beef patty with coco bread. Jerk chicken, curry chicken, curry goat and veggie roti options are available as well. Compared to other local Caribbean restaurants the prices are very reasonable and affordable. You might get a slighly smaller portion but this dinner still had leftovers when I was done. For a restaurant that looks like any run-of-the-mill fast food place in a suburban mall, Allwyn's Pickering serves some superb Jamaican food for reasonable prices. The helpful counter staff recommended the curry chicken roti, which was what I ordered. The roti was huge, with substantial chunks of boneless chicken breast and large morsels of potatoes and carrots. The soft, melty consistency of the vegetables melded well with the chicken and sauce, all of which combined to give the roti a creamy, savory mouthfeel. I've eaten many roti which seemed to have more gravy than meat, but Allwyn's was meaty and rich tasting. It was fragrantly and warmly spiced, with a gentle heat that did not overwhelm. For those who like it spicier with more heat, the roti is accompanied by Allwyn's flavorful hot sauce. With very limited seating, Allwyn's is probably best suited to take-out dining. I was the only customer there at 2:00 in the afternoon, but the staff told me that they get quite busy around lunch and dinner. There is plenty of parking in the mall, which is conveniently located close to Hwy. 401. Allwyn's does not take credit cards, so come prepared with cash or debit Prices are very reasonable. Judging by my roti, Allwyn's provides generous serving sizes for a very good value. A day later, I still have half a roti left for lunch or dinner. Judging from my very positive roti experience (honestly, I never thought that I would have so much to say about a roti), I intend to return soon to try, among other things, the oxtail and the jerk chicken. Judging from the photos, their sandwiches look excellent and are very moderately priced. Service was quick and friendly! A busy place in Pickering but it might also be because I went during dinner rush. Really good Jamaican food. My sister tried their patties and said they're really good. Just wanted to let everyone know their chicken patties have suet (beef) in them in case you have dietary restrictions. The plantain is delicious - soft and sweet with some crispy caramelized edges. Jerk chicken with rice and peas yummy. You should really go and try Allwyn's Pickering. Super nice staff. read more

No HALAL meat. Tried a stuffed jerk chicken sandwich for the first time in my life. It was a beef patty, stuffed with shredded jerk chicken and coleslaw inside of a Coco-bread bun. $8.69. I ordered the spicy and it wasn't that spicy at all, even the jerk. Overall the ground beef and jerk chicken was tasty. To be honest, the Coco bread is unnecessary and it's probably more flavourful without. It clouds the taste of the beef patty and filling, but I know its commonly eaten with it. They are losing one star on account of the fact that they don't have any Halal options which a West Indian shop in an area like Pickering and the GTA, definitely should. I hope they soon decide to get some Halal options and open it up to more diverse customers. First time going here today. Setting is basic, nothing to boast or complain about. More like a tiny cafeteria than a restaurant vibe. Ordered a Large Rice & Peas with Vegetable Curry. Curry was very dry, had little to no spice(heat), and the "vegetables" was all potato, a couple more beans that are already in the rice, and a tiny piece of carrot. Rice portion was a good size but the curry was way out ratio'd by the rice. People ahead of me looked like they got their money's worth on the meat dishes which didnt look dry at all as they're served with gravy(oxtail I believe) on top. 2 Stars for the service only. Would not recommend vegetarians or anyone looking for a meat free or i-tal meal. *Advice: Add more vegetables, maybe some chickpeas, a little more spice and some curry gravy so it isnt a dry small portion and I'd be a repeat customer. Would just take it off the menu if its not worth it to improve as most people prefer the meat dishes anyway.
