Recently I wanted some balloons for my daughter's 5th birthday, and Kristen definitely came through. The installation was very sturdy in the October weather, and the balloons were gorgeous, exactly portraying the theme I wanted, a mermaid theme. Kristen was one of my absolute favorite vendors. When we first met with her, I could tell she really got what I was going for. I had met with one other florist and she just never seemed to get my vision. Kristen had a ton of great ideas and since I don't really know a ton about flowers, I appreciated her expertise. It took two weeks after my destination wedding weekend to figure out how to write a review about my wedding flowers. After describing our ceremony being performing outdoors along the Mississippi River during the Autumn in Galena, Illinois, we all decided on tangerine and lime green. Besides determining what our wedding colors would be, I wanted to get across my request for the flowers to be beautiful yet still masculine. After all, it was for a gay wedding. This was not an obstacle for Kristen. She is extremely talented and already had hundreds of flower species come to mind that she wanted to use. She used her computer to show us her ideas on a floral database. Kristen captured not only exactly what I desired, but beyond my expectations. I found Kio Kreations back in 2009 when I was planning my wedding in July of 2010 on theknot.com. Luckily for me, Kristen was very accommodating and reasonably priced. I met with her for almost an hour to go over a list of what, which, and how many of certain flowers, etc. And what do I do later? I change my mind on the color motif, so Kristen was kind enough to have me come over again to change some of my choices without any additional costs. She was so flexible and understanding, so I really appreciated it! On the wedding day, one of my family members informed me that Kristen voluntarily provided a ribbon (of course perfectly matching all of our colors) to tie one of my flower girl's pony tail to add a little pop to her whole outfit. And of course, to keep the list going... For our center pieces, we chose to buy our own cylinder vases and candles to save some money, and Kristen still assisted with the set up even if she only had to provide the rose petals for that aspect. I got an amazing number of compliments on my wedding flowers--thanks to Kristen and her team. Kristen is an encyclopedia of knowledge about flowers, but she is also unbelievably creative. I don't have a lot of knowledge about flowers, so basically I gave Kristen my palette and some photos from Pinterest. She created something I could not have dreamed of. Our bouquets were made of unique textured flowers, lush greens, and geometrical vines. She designed three centerpiece styles for me that were all beautiful. She asked me if she could get really creative with the flowers for our card table--I said yes--and she designed a tall arrangement on a slender vase with cascading fronds and hanging baubles that was like nothing I have ever seen before. Everything she did was so unique and beautiful. I believe she can accomplish this because she is truly an expert at what she does. Kristen and her team are also easy to work with and very flexible. A week before my wedding, I asked her if I could change some of the centerpieces and use them for my rehearsal dinner instead. It was a pretty crazy last-minute request--but she made it happen, and the centerpieces made the rehearsal dinner so much more special (and fragrant). GORGEOUS! When it came to planning our wedding, the flowers were the one thing I felt the most ambiguous about. To take the cake, poor Kristen was due any minute with her first child, yet she still managed to be on site the day of the wedding and made sure everything went off without a hitch perfectly.
