I would give this place 0 stars if it were an option. I had two keys made and they did not work. When I went back to have them re-made I was told that I was one day late (31 days after they made them) and they would not be able to help me. It was their mistake! they made them wrong! Worst customer service experience ever, I walked in and the older worker named Ian was already starring at me like I was crazy I talked to him calmly telling him I wanted to return some things he goes on to getting quite mad at me when I say I don't have a receipt but I used my number and only bought it about a week ago and he keeps telling me that I can't do it I ask for him to ask a manger please and he calls the manager, suzzy then comes, which is the sweetest lady and she goes on to tell him and calmly show him how to do a return without a receipt and then right when she walks away he says she's a CUNT and did a prayer on his chest after saying he wishes she would die and calling her brittle, which is absolutely outrageous especially when theirs other coworkers and a customer right in front of him and he angrily try's to do my return then ends up messing it up and still keeping my return short on money and I just ended up not caring about the rest of the money because I was so surprised he would say something like that to his own co-worker. read more

I want to start by saying that I have been a customer of this location, ACE Hardware, for 18 years and have had a great relationship with all the staff. However, over the past five years or so, there have been many changes, including all new employees, while the only familiar face is the one in the screws and nails section, who, like his former colleagues, genuinely helps customers. At one point, I thought the owner had sold the store, but that turned out not to be the case. With the new employees, whenever a customer walks in, they ask, "Can I help you?" but seem to hope for a "no" response. When you answer "yes," they usually don't provide helpful answers.  Today, March 19, 2025, around 10:00 a.m., I went in to buy a tube of clear silicone for a job I was finishing. After applying the silicone, I noticed it was white instead of clear. I thought it would become clear once it dried, but four hours later, it was still white. So, I decided to return to the store and exchange it. Upon entering the store's paint section, an employee asked me, "Can I help you?" I said yes and explained the issue. Unfortunately, another employee who was on the phone responded rudely, saying, "You have to wait 24 hours." I explained to the ACE employee who was "working" with me that the 24-hour period was for curing, while four hours was drying--the appropriate time to change color to clear it that is so. He then told me to speak to the manager. When I explained the situation to the manager, the rude employee intervened again, which escalated the tension. I simply wanted to exchange a $9 product for a real clear one; it should have been a straightforward request. After raising my voice out of frustration (without using any profanity), the manager told me to "take your money and get out of my store." I replied, "Thank you!! What a great favor you're doing me since I'll never step into this ACE again." In summary, I believe in supporting local businesses, but from now I will purchase ACE products through Amazon. I'll go to Home Depot or Lowe's if I need something quickly. read more

I've rarely gotten what I need from this Ace hardware, but they're the only place that carries K2R spot remover for clothes and Spot Shot for carpet/upholst. stains. Most of the time, I have to continue on to a big box store. Nuts & bolts are their saving grace, however, and some longtime employees are helpful in that area. I doubt they will, but a bicycle parking rack somewhere close by would be a welcome addition, as I'm unable to drive any longer and need a place to lock up my e-bike. The small engine department had my leaf blower for a month with no communication regarding an estimate. I had to initiate communication and then was lied to by 3 people regarding my estimate. Order# KP54941 3 weeks turned to almost 2 months. Chainsaw inside full is debris, nothing cleaned. I since it was acting same as it was before repair, I checked it out. Invoice says spark plug replaced: no, it's not, replaced and air filter: no it's not. Since opened cap: cleaned myself. Charge for oil and fuel mix? Brought to service and replace clutch and drum. Will not ever recommend anyone taking equipment for repair: ordering parts from Amazon like any homeowner. Supposed to be professional repair shop, then they realize that missing the screw, ordering again from Amazon. Not happy with timing and quality of repair since the chainsaw acting up even more than did before repair. Paid $79.40. New ProPoulan probably cost $200. Attempted to call the store to speak with a manager, was sent from one to another after staying on hold for extensive time and finally a lady that answered the phone and supposed to be a manager said going to send me "downstairs" to the repairmen. Save yourself time and go elsewhere. read more

I took my snowblower to this location early last summer, even late spring, so that they would have all the time necessary to work on it. Several months later I called and they said they had just begun to look at it, and we're waiting for a part. This, after our first snowfall. They did get my snowmobile tuned up, and replaced a couple of broken parts, which I appreciate it. However, my total bill of 250 apparently did not include appropriately adjusting several parts. The guide on the bottom was incorrectly adjusted, so that when I ran the snow blower down the driveway it jumped and hopped all the way down. The discharge chute, which should swing a full 180° so that it can discharge fully to the left and fully to the right, only had about a 90° discharge, so that it would never shoot fully sideways. In other words, when I was snowblowing my driveway, I was just moving it further down the driveway. I emailed the company and got no response. Do not take your small engines to them for service. read more

Every ace hardware I've been to has excellent customer service and competitive pricing, this one holds true to that as well. Craig was especially helpful in explaining the electrical repair I was doing at the house and saved me hours of frustration and lots of money. I've never had a home goods store employee take that much interest and care in making sure I have what I need. I encourage anyone that is not an expert in the task they're accomplishing to check ace hardware out, or if you simply want to support a friendly business. I'm always in and out in 5-10 minutes opposed to Home Depot or Lowe's where I struggle to find anyone willing to help and then they're gone before I can follow up with another question. read more

I have always had great experiences at this Ace. This selection is on point. Today I went in for a tricky lock to be re-keyed and the manager was more than helpful in putting his current tasks aside and directing me to Michael who spent his valuable time doing a phenomenal job re-keying a specialty lock I brought in. I tip my hat to Michael for his quality work and great attitude, as well as all of the other very kind and helpful employees in the store. I ended up leaving with more than I planned on because they have so much great stock at this location. I'd give six stars if I could. read more

I have been a customer of this Ace Hardware for the past 25 years. I have always received good service from the employees and the business usually has the hard-to-find items that the larger hardware stores do not have. On 10/22/22 at approximately 12:30 pm, myself and my son went to this store to purchase some material for a High School project he is working on. We needed to purchase a spring and one of the employees took us to the hardware section and explained how to find a spring that we could use from a "spring guide". My son and I looked through the guide and found one that possibly could work, which according to the guide was located in bin #53. My son opened bin #53 to retrieve the spring as I was still looking at the "spring guide", and I heard someone say, "you didn't listen to a thing I told you, did you"? I heard my son say, what? (Which brought my attention to the situation) The employee again stated in a gruff voice, "you didn't listen to a thing I told you, did you? The employee's demeanor was obviously gruff and challenging so I stated, I told him to go into bin #53 as that is what the guide says! The employee came over and looked at the guide which I held and immediately turned away and began helping another customer. No apology, no excuses, no nothing! Normally, I don't complain on bad service or manners but since my son is only 17 years old and 5"4" and 110 lbs., I felt the employee's action was way out of line. The employee is approximately 70 years old, 6'1" and 250-260 lbs.. On 10/23/22, I returned to the store to voice my displeasure with the service the employee gave and why I would not return to the store as a customer. On 10/24/22 at approximately 3:50 pm, Mike (the manager I assume) called to say that he had talked to the employee and Mike apologized for the service rendered. Mike explained that the employee possibly was in pain due to health issues. I appreciate Mike's response but there really isn't a valid excuse for bad behavior when dealing with the public as an invitee to a business. From the employee's demeanor, I am willing to bet this has not been his only complaint of this nature! The bottom line is he is driving away customers. I shop at this Ace all the time because it's a locally owned business. Last Sunday, I walked into the store around 12:30 pm to find the place packed with customers, not adhering to social distance protocol, most of whom were over 60 years old. Most of the customers were wearing masks. None of the employees were wearing masks. Jefferson country at that time rated #4 in CO counties for COVID cases. My grocery, King Soopers, close by this Ace, just reported 4 employees with COVID. I want to support small businesses but this is one to avoid. I'm not a Home Depot fan but have to say I feel safe shopping there as they are on board with keeping both their employees and customers safe. read more

Just went to Ace to have a key made. The manager told me to stand in line. I did, waiting behind 3 customers. I was next and the nice cashier boy made my key. He then told me I had to go back in the same line and again wait to pay for the key. What?!??! Are you serious waiting in line twice???? He told me the same snotty female manager who told me to wait in line to get the key made told him to have me wait in line again to pay. I should've just walked out and made the business eat the key. I took two of my $150 chef knives to be sharpened. Picked them up a few days later only to find that they were duller than when I brought them in! Called and spoke to an employee who said (paraphrasing) 'guy who sharpened them wasn't qualified. I'll fix them.' Went back to the store during the hours the employee said he'd be there. Kid working behind the counter took my knives, I thought to find and bring to them to 'the guy.' Two minutes later he was handing them back to me and I asked "Did he sharpen them?" "No, I did he's not here." Now they are all scratched and the blade is screwed-up. I'm in the process of finding a company to fix the mess. Took Stihl chainsaw for repair, store held it for over 8 weeks never contacted me with diagnosis. When I called said needed carb which was on order, and would call when received, and repaired. Never called back. When I called, ACE stated could not find carb, chainsaw not fixable, but I could buy a new chainsaw from them. Looked on line, carbs were available. Became clear store did not want to fix it, made no effort and most of the time did not return my call. Even the manager was not helpful. Took to Big Tool Box in Centennial, they fixed it, it runs great. Would not recommend Kipling ACE engine repair shop, not appear to be forthcoming with information, or desire to perform repairs. I was just at your store at 1:00pm 4/26/20. An older man (employee) was spouting off right in front of the front door to the cashier "No one is going to make me wear a mask". I said to him, "I am a a healthcare worker and wearing a mask does not protect you, it protects me". His response, "what, are you scared?" Really? If I was scared I wouldn't be going to work everyday at the hospital?!?! Ignorance and selfishness has no place in businesses right now. I promptly left and will not return to this business ever. My entire family has shopped here for more than 20 years and spent thousands of dollars in your store. I was loyal to this Ace Hardware because I prefer to shop smaller local stores when possible. When I shopped there recently, I didn't see a single employee wearing a mask. They were wearing masks at one point when it was required but apparently decided to stop as soon as it was not required even though a wealth of research shows that wearing masks protects others (and most stores are promoting the use of masks and require their employees to wear masks). It's especially disheartening because it is impossible to keep your distance at this ACE because everything is so tight, and you're definitely unable to keep your distance from the person checking you out. It tells me that they are not concerned about their customers. I will never shop at this ACE again. Like others have mentioned, there are other hardware stores that care more about their customers. I consistently leave this store with a smile on my face. It has never produced the frustration that I have experienced at other, larger stores. The employees always offer to help, but they aren't pushy. I have taken their advice when I wasn't sure about a product choice and never regretted doing that. I find their prices competitive. I visited the Kipling Ace Hardware store #4440 last week and was pleasantly surprised how friendly, efficient and helpful every single employee was. We purchased some items while there, but I also had a key to my Honda Ridgeline I needed replaced. These keys are a tricky cut, and not all places can make new ones. I was directed to Michael Naysmith, who was nothing short of amazing. With the knowledge he shows, it is apparent that he has been doing this for a very long time, and is an EXPERT in the field. He is the MOST personable person I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He is an ASSET, to any store or company he works with or for. Ace should feel lucky he works for them, as he guarantees repeat business at that store, even if you don't need his Locksmith services. I live in the mountains west of Denver, but I will visit that store, just because of the employees there. Michael, thanks for all your help. I would rate you in the 100s if I could. I head to this store rather than big box for over 20 years. This South Kipling ACE (and the new sister store down at Kipling/C470) has helpful and AVAILABLE staff. The management is very present in the store, so if I find a new employee that hasn't quite discovered all the store has to offer, I get elevated up the chain fairly quickly. I usually don't make it 20 steps into the store before I hear "can I help you find something?" Despite their smaller size compared to big box, they have an incredible batting average when it comes to having what I need for recurring home maintenance, i.e., BONA wood floor care products, TRAEGER grill pellets, sealants for every kind of problem, nice paint, lawn & garden essentials and, of course, every kind of fastener. NOTE: People who are judging a hardware store based on mask useage during a once in a century pandemic alone are wrong to leave poor ratings, IMO. This is a hardware store and should be judged on its core competencies which, from my view, is superior. read more

I phoned this location to see if they had key fobs for my Jeep. I was told that they had mine in stock. I went in Saturday and was told that they didn't have it but could order it. I drove down from Bailey for the fob. In addition, they didn't even have someone there who could program the fob. They didn't even care about the inconvenience they cost me. Yesterday I bought a hose and a hose reel. I knew the kind of reel I wanted and the salesman steered me towards a rubber lawn hose - something I never considered.
