I'll never go back to Napa again. Huge tasting of some great wines -- you can choose up to, wait, I can't remember was it 8? or 12? it's all blurry now but they were wonderful and it was all free! They recently opened a new tasting room- much fancier and bigger than the old shack they used to use (although the old tasting room is still opened as well). They offer free tastings which is great, but the wines are mediocre, I guess I can't complain because it is free wine haha. Their signature wine is the Vino de Mocha, a chocolatey coffee flavored port that they recommend mixing with their champagne... Personally I find it too strong, but my boyfriend loves it! They have beautiful grounds, including a gazebo and a view of the hills and vineyards. We have been there several times when they have a wedding or other private function and it always looks really nice for those people. read more

Of all the wines I tasted (omitted some that I knew I wouldn't like), I loved most of them. It was difficult not to over-buy. The wines are not "snobby wines." They are good and food friendly. Moreover, the winery is not expensive, and there is no charge for tasting. We arrived on a Thursday - not a prime time - and had the barista to ourselves. She is friendly and knowledgeable. The winery dates back to 1916 and lacks the spit-and-polish of its more upscale cousins, but it is in a state of being remodeled by the third owner who is willing to invest in a gem, possibly a gem in the rough. The scenery on Watsonville Road is gorgeous. We'll definitely be back. read more

Upon venue scouting for our big day, Kirigin Cellars was the first venue we visited. We could have stopped searching, however we're a thorough couple. Kirigin Cellars literally made our jaws drop. The vastness and sheer natural beauty of the venue, with the amazing event center was enough for us to make our decision. But the customer service, professionalism, and ease-of-communication was what hooked us. Our journey in planning our wedding was that of ease and excitement because of Cindy and Dhruv. We just tried out this winery last Tuesday and it was GREAT!! A hidden little jewel and the Tasting room employee Amanda was excellent. Amanda had a lot of information about the wines and even gave us ideas how to mix the Champagne aka Sparkling Wine with Kirigin's sweet desert wine for an entirely different taste! Amanda was a breath of fresh air and was charming as she explained the details of each wine we tasted. This winery has an incredible NEW Tasting room opening soon and EVERYONE has to come see this new room and check out the incredible cement work. We were lucky enough to meet the Artist who designed this new facility and he is awesome! What a great combination with Kirigin Wine, Amanda in the tasting room and the incredible artesian construction. A must for every Silicon Valley Wine enthusiast! read more

First of all, if you haven't been wine tasting in the Gilroy/San Martin area, what are you waiting for? This might be my favorite vineyard in the area, ok it IS my favorite. Complimentary wine tasting? Um...yes please! They have a small tasting room and main tasting room. The employees are super friendly, I enjoyed the wines and the property is gorgeous! I recommend taking a stroll around the property, you must! They have a full size soccer field (what?!!) it's super cool. They also have picnic tables and I saw a handful of people sitting on the grass enjoying the day. I absolutely loved it here and can't wait to come back. read more

Pretty, clean winery with 6 large picnic tables and benches next to the tasting room. There's shade so you won't burn up during the summer, and you can have a comfy area with our friends to snack and drink the bottles you've bought from the tasting room. Super cute and quaint surroundings with attentive staff. We got a complimentary tasting with 6 choices from a menu of 5 whites, 1 rose, 6 reds, and 1 dessert wine. The sauvignon blanc was my favorite though I believe their dessert wine is what they're famous for. Sweet enough to serve with ice-cream or box in chocolate candies! The cabernet was pretty solid as well. Great deals if you buy 6 bottles (30% off) or a case (12 bottles) at 50% off. read more

START HERE! Lizz is absolutely amazing! She was training Lucy and did not allow it to take away from the experience. Lucy was nice and friendly for her very first day. We tried hard to tip but they wanted us to enjoy the experience instead so we purchased a bottle and opted to drink it in our hotel with Italian take out prior to flying out. She recommended a decent Italian place. The dessert wine is by far the best I've ever had! Great experience, the best winery I've ever visited and I've been to many along the West Coast. I wasn't expecting much, given the reviews here, but I figured a free tasting + a nice dog was worth a visit. I was happy that I went. The server wasn't the most engaging person in the world, but she was nice enough. The wines were actually pretty good. The Vino de Mocca is definitely worth a try but my favorite was probably the Champagne - which they don't actually make but is very good if you like sweet sparkling wines. read more

I honestly believe this winery has high ratings purely due to their free tasting and low cost wine. Take this away and you are left with subpar wines and an OK ( but nothing much )customer service. I would like to give them 2 stars for the setting - beautiful but so are the rest of the wineries in the area ( that produce way better wines ) I actually would give them more stars ( even though, as I mentioned before, their wines are nothing to write home about ) but I did not like how they treat their customers. When we were tasting there ( oh, yes, pre-COVID times ), you would get 5 free samples, which is fine but a friend of mine wanted to taste another wine ( BTW, his words to me were, " They cannot all be that bad, they've got to have something good" LOL! ). The employer, I believe she was actually a manager ( I hope I am not getting her name wrong, I think it was Diane - blond, heavy set ) made a bit deal out of it and refused to pour him another oz. OK, that would be fine, if she didnt turn around and start pouring and pouring and pouring without any limits to another customer, who introduced herself as a friend of Perri ( I guess that was the password for unlimited pours ) . Had a chance to check out Kirigin Cellars last Saturday (10/5) afternoon. I had heard good things, but unfortunately ended up leaving disappointed. I was part of a larger group and when we arrived, it was unclear where we were supposed to be (there are multiple tasting rooms). When we finally made it to the right room, the owner and the woman hosting the tasting (Laura, I think?) were less than enthusiastic about helping us and we're actually really dismissive. They started pouring wine without explaining what we were drinking, pointedly avoided making any kind of conversation with us and just seemed to want to get the tasting over with as quickly as possible. If we were rowdy or loud & obnoxious, I might be able to understand their crappy attitudes; but we weren't. It's a shame their behavior was so lousy as some of their wine was actually quite good (- they have a Croatian white that is delightful!) But I don't give my money to establishments whose employees act like they're above doing their jobs and treat customers poorly. With so many wineries in close proximity that offer better experiences, I'd advise skipping Kirigin. read more

An old favorite. Old Mr. Kirigin has moved back to Bosnia, but the people who bought the winery have done him the honor of keeping his name and moreover his quality. The champagne and vino de moca are exactly as amazing as always, as is the Malvasia Bianca, which is a really nice white wine and not Natasha Fatale's cousin, which is what the name sounds like. There was a winery dog greeting everyone at the tasting room, a friendly border collie who plays fetch with a cork, and the tasting room itself is very old and smells of old wood and more corks, but in a pleasant way. They also had the ice cream social that day, so it was a nice treat. Tasting and ice cream were free. My friends got the champagne and vino de mocha, but I still had some at home from a previous wine-club subscription. read more

FREE wine tasting. And yes, you can start at the top of their wine list and go to the bottom. The pours aren't super generous, but you can't really complain about free tasting. Besides, if you want to revisit anything, you totally can. I love the Malvasia Bianca, mmmm. Their wines are good. The Vino de Mocca is great if you love dessert wine. Sometimes I taste more coffee, and sometimes I taste more chocolate, but it always tastes DELICIOUS. Apparently, it's called "The Kissing Wine" because it has a higher alcohol content... one bottle and you'll be kissing everybody! Or at least, that's what one of the servers told me. And speaking of servers... The main reason I'm giving them 5 stars is because the servers are super friendly. I've been here when it's busy, and also when it's not, and they're always very nice and knowledgeable and totally down to chit chat with you (if they're not too busy). We've been stopping here for years as we bicycle in the area on Sundays. The people are wonderfully community conscious, providing soccer and cricket venues as well as picnic areas in a beautiful and friendly setting. The wines are modestly priced and quite drinkable, with several unique varietals. I view Kirigin as a neat place to enjoy a tasting and use and great picnic setting. read more

Went there after a hearty hike at Mt. Madonna. We were a group of about 20. The staff there were amazing with excellent tasting and tour!! The 2013 Syrah is off the hook! Vino de Mocca desert wine delicious. Since we were a good size group, we were able to get super discounts! We had a lovely picnic there as well. The staff is amazing! The venue is gorgeous! We had a hiccup with our original venue and Kirgin saved us! We were treated with warm smiles and warm hearts 4 days before our event by Samantha, Hannah and Camille.They made it happen! Loved Hannah, she's the event coordinator. One of our absolute favorite wineries. Wines are extremely reasonably priced and you can still taste for free, a combo that's hard to find these days. We grew to love the winery so much that we had our wedding here. Everything was just perfect from the venue, the staff, and of course the food & wine. Lots of mediocre wine. Rustic tasting room, but dark. An extra star for the border collie. He drops a champagne cork at your feet then goes and guards the door like a hockey goalie...hilarious. Won't return, even to play catch with the dog. read more

I enjoy visiting Kirigin Cellars because it's so low key and truly set in nature. The tasting room is not fancy and very small but cozy. It's a farm-like setting, which provides plenty of room for the toddler to run around outside (which is a big plus for us!). The people working in the tasting room have always been very friendly when we visited, which made our visits always enjoyable. I like their wines, and the discount on purchasing a case is great (50%). The Vino de Mocha is a nice coffee flavored dessert wine, and it makes a very nice gift. read more
