This place is gorgeous! I've been here a couple times and love strolling the property throughout the tasting. The staff were very friendly and the wine was good, my fave was the Chardonnay. Most recently I came during COVID and they require you to buy a bottle ($10) which also comes with 4 tastings. The tastings are small and if it's crowded they will move you along pretty quickly. I am very glad that the organizers choose Kirigin cellar this year for the annual event. We all loved it and, of course, I dressed accordingly (I suggest to wear bright pink or red or yellow to contrast with the greenery, fantastic photos assured). It was also my first time at a winery in Gilroy. Getting more in love with the are at every single new discovery. The wines I tasted were great (we also got food catered). I liked the merlot a lot. Their dessert wine is very popular. They have inside and outside seating. I preferred the outside terrace, facing the vineyards. One of my best friends got married here five years ago and we have been coming ever since. Tucked away, but great location. Super open grassy field when weddings aren't happening. Beautiful rose flowers plus the vines. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The Malvasia is my favorite and such a unique taste. I know can call myself a wine member of this club. Was supposed to have a wedding last year here and because of Covid and county restrictions, we weren't able to have it. They wanted to refund our "fully paid" venue payments in wine credit. (Note: they made us buy a bottle per person to use picnic area bc it was the weekend). No food or water but you can bring a picnic. I attended Kirigin Cellars for a private event - my cousin's Bat Mitzvah - and I had a total blast! The surrounding greenery in the area is absolutely gorgeous, despite the fact that it was pouring in May when it was held. The wine was great, and there was ample supply of it. Food also pretty good. Was served buffet style, but employees would serve food for you, so you couldn't select how much you wanted. One lady in front of me was vegetarian and asked for more salad in lieu of the meat option and they said no! So she barely had any food for dinner... The seating and dance area was definitely big enough for the amount of people that were in attendance (100), but the wooded decor made the lighting seem super dark. This is definitely a great place for an outdoor wedding or event though! Absolutely beautiful flowers, grass, and gardens with a great mountainside background. read more

First things first, to any person who enjoys a family friendly atmosphere this is the winery you want! There are many other wineries in the area who do not allow anyone under the age of 21 including toddlers and infants for the sole purpose of politics & the "high-end experience". I applaud Kirigin Cellars for allowing myself and my husband to bring our children to an experience we can all enjoy. The winery is beautiful, nice patio, cool soccer field to play, unique architecture, super friendly employees & the list goes on. My husband did a wine tasting $10 for trying 5 different kinds. The man serving was very knowledgeable and helped us choose what we'd like based on our complete opposite tastes. My husband enjoys dry smokey reds and I enjoy anything bubbly or sweet. We tried each others wines and the one standing out the most was the dessert wine vino de mocca since it has a distinct chocolate taste. We were able to explore the property and have a really nice relaxing time. We'll be back! read more

My gfs and I wanted to stay local so Kirigin Cellars was a must stop. Wonderful pourers who were all very attentive. Free tasting of 6 of their wines. Very nice that's it's complimentary for the customers as I'm more tempted to like something and buy. That's exactly what we did. Their port is awesome! Our pourer made conversation with us and even gave us some tips for each of the wine like mixing their port plus their champagne, amazing combo. I would not recommend this venue. The staff was always very nice, but the owner Dhruv is rude and I think has unethical business practices. I spoke with him over the phone and discussed pricing in full detail for an engagement party to see if it was even in our budget before we went for a tour. I asked a few times if any charges were missing so I could get an accurate quote. I understand this price is not set, but I wanted a ball park. Come to the visit and we're about one hour in with the staff when we ask to start looking over prices again and potentially drawing up a contract. Dhruv comes out and quotes me prices significantly over what he said on the phone. For a small room, he originally quoted me $65 per person including food. In person, he quotes me $65 per person not including food. He also says its not worth it for them to provide the food for that small room, so we should bring our own (he suggested Costco pizza if we want to keep the price low which I thought was rude and unnecessary). He also originally said that the per person price includes valet. When we asked the staff where they park cars, they said there wasn't any valet. Lastly, he said over the phone that the per person price could be reduced (not significantly, but some) if we wanted to have a non-alcoholic party. He then later denied this and told me it doesn't make sense for him to say this because they are a winery. I called him and voiced concerns over what he quoted me over the phone and what he said in person. He flat out lied and said he never said any of what he told me (mind you, I have this all written down). He also then said he didn't care about my concerns about the discrepancies in the pricing and would like to move forward with booking our event without dwelling on what i "think he said". I honestly think he was drunk during that first phone call and doesn't remember what he told me. Overall, Dhruv was extremely rude, unprofessional and looking for opportunities to raise costs. I'm okay with businesses setting their prices. Im not okay with businesses lying about prices over the phone (or just not remembering because of drinking excessively) and then doing a bait and switch in person (and then pretending that they didn't do that). It's not the prices it's the business practice. We will not be considering this venue for the wedding. I will not give someone like this my money. And I would caution others when considering this venue. read more

The wine was okay at best. The person serving us took 20 minutes in between pours which made for a terrible time there. When it came time for our last pour we were told that they could no longer serve us because it was past 5pm, mind you it was 5:02 and we were never informed about last call. My first time wine tasting, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than the one I had at Kirigin Cellars! My friends and I came on a Thursday morning, so it wasn't crowded at all. The woman who served us (unfortunately did not get her name) was really nice and friendly, and gave us great recommendations that were tailored to our preferences! You get 6 tastings for free. I tried 2 white wines, 1 red, 1 champagne, 1 rosé, and finally their famous dessert wine! My favorites were the champagne and the dessert wine. The wines here are all priced around $20, so it's on the more affordable side. I liked that we were able to pick our own tastings, rather than having a set tasting menu, so I got to personalize my experience. I ended up buying a bottle of the dessert wine (Vino de Mocca), which was honestly one of the most unique wines I've ever tasted (has hints of orange, coffee, and chocolate). It's also amazing if you mix it with some champagne. The bottle I bought is almost gone, and I can't wait to go back again for more! read more

Good value for money. The white wines here are not to my liking but the reds are just fine for every day table wines and are priced as such. Since they do their own bottling and what not, they pass the value down. This place is not pretentious at all so put on your shorts and T-shirt and have a picnic with a bottle of wine. It's a lovely location and good venue for events / weddings. The staff here is also nice. I would give another half star if I could. The reason for 3.5 star is the white wines are not where they need to be in my opinion. I still go here for cases of red. read more

I am obsessed with this place! First off all the wine is amazing! Secondly the way they do tasting is great! They give you a menu of many wines and then you pick the 5/6 you want to drink, so if you're in the mood for whites only or reds only, you can cater to that. I recently joined the membership and I'm so happy I did. Also my favorite tasting room associate Raphy (Barbara) is DELIGHTFUL!!!! I only ever want to see her when I go into taste. Interesting property as when you drive in signs about events and sports parking. Parking area in about 50 yards from tasting room with some construction going on. Turns out there is small parking just in front of tasting room as well. Entry to tasting room is nice and looks like a giant wine barrel. Austin was working that day and we found ourselves all alone with no other customers. Austin was really reserved and quiet initially. And didn't do as much of explanation as I would of liked which is where the half star would of gotten. Tastings were complimentary. Pick six from the list. Will do the grounds before the wines we liked. Tasting room would benefit some music. The door sways in breeze and is kinda annoying. The grounds here are gorgeous. After our tastings we each got a glass, well her one and me two. And went to the shaded picnic area and enjoyed some meats, cheese, fig, and crackers we brought. We walked the grounds and just loved it. Great location with its vineyard behind the buildings into rolling hills. They have sports fields where the local soccer and cricket league plays. Area for weddings and nice hall. If I had the money my 40th would be big and here. Flowers had been recently planted and roses smelled great. Austin switched on during our tasting and it was a great experience. We really agreed on the malvasia Bianca which we are enjoying this afternoon in the sun as I write. I liked the Pinot noir which I felt had a smoke to it that I usually enjoy in zins. She really was all about the vino de mocca which for me had too much coffee flavor to it. Kirigin Cellars is such a quaint and charming winery! There appeared to be two entrances, but I entered the one shaped like a cellar since it was it too cute not to. Customer service is excellent. Perri was very hospitable to my friend and I. Tastings are free in which you get to select six wines to try. I thought this was very nice! I only tried the white wines and were not a fan of any, but I think it is just due to my personal taste. I was hoping the Malvasia Bianca would be a winner for me, but it just didn't taste as smooth as others I have tried. Again, this is just my personal taste. The ending wine was their famous Vino di Moca. I enjoyed tasting this wine as it is sweet, chocolatey, and very strong on the brandy. Fun to try, but not my preference of wine. The grounds were also very beautiful and spacious. I can see how weddings are held here. There were a lot of flowers and rows of vineyards for natural scenery in a wedding. read more

My first time coming here. It was really mellow and quiet. I didn't like the wines there as much as other locations. The staff was really nice, conversational and helpful. The wine tasting was free, with 6 choices. We did not reserve before arriving. We got helped right away upon arriving. It is hard to miss when driving there but you will see the entrance. We did not buy a bottle but it is not required when tasting. We did enjoy the service and company. I would recommend to go if you are wine hopping and looking for somewhere to relax and enjoy wine. I used to love this place until my last visit when it got treated like dirt. I brought my family & invited a friend who brought his family. 10 people total & we came to spend money. Upon walking to the front door an employee basically tried to get rid of us as quickly as possible. He was very rude & showed no signs of respect. He asked us what we were trying to do & how long we were going to be here. His frustration came because he explained that the power has been out but the manner he chose to relay the info was unprofessional. I even offered to pay cash since the system was down but he complained about having to go to safe. That was my first time bringing my friend & it was a terrible experience. What made everything look shady is that the room was full of customers drinking wine. I'll never come back! Plenty of other options in the area anyways. read more

I've been here 2 times now, and have loved it both times. Kirigin offers up to 6 free sampling for a wine tasting. If you're like my sister, you'll alternate between the champs only. I'm a fan of reds, so my 6 tend to be the reds. They also offer 2 champagnes and 1 very sweet port. It's a bit toned down with the champagne, but still too sweet for my taste. Though it's free, they don't pressure you to buy any wine. The first time I went, I picked up a bottle of champagne and this time, I got a bottle of the Tempranillo. Both were delish. read more
