I've tried every hibachi spot in town, and this one has easily taken the #1 spot on my list. Each visit is consistent. Everything is cooked just right and has great flavor. The portions are generous. The Cajun Roll was "decent" but not the best by a long shot. We ordered from work on the night shift and when I received my salad, there was no dressing. Since they had closed in the meantime, I was unable to get any dressing and therefore unable to eat my [dry] salad. So, it was a COMPLETE waste of money as the fried rice had very little flavor either. I won't be giving any more of my business to these guys. I'm a fan of the shrimp tempura appetizer. I am also a fan of the Chicken Tempura meal, as long as it it prepared the same way as the app. On my last visit it wasn't. It was a chicken barest, cut in half and friend. Didn't appear to be tempura at all. Our waiter was kind enough to take it back and have it fixed the usual way. I was very pleased! The hibachi rice is also delicious! The drinks are good and service is pretty fast. Also the salad and soup are great additions to your meal. I've been meaning to try this place out for a long time and I've finally made it. Now I can't stop coming here. The menu is large like most sushi places so it can be difficult to choose. The appetizers are delicious; I specifically recommend the paper shrimp. They are crispy and delicate and taste really savory without that overwhelming amount of cream cheese that a lot of crab rangoons have. Every sushi roll I've tried has tasted fresh and is a decent size. The quality of the fish is always important to me in sushi and it tastes really good here without any of that fishy aftertaste to it. The rice is cooked to perfection. Every worker, and I mean every worker is such a delight to have any interaction with. The food is well prepared and so tasty. When you think of hibachi you think of eating a plate full of soy sauce right? Well, here they put the right amount to where it tastes good but not drowning in the sauce. My family and I (7-8 people a visit) have been getting Hibachi once a week for the past month. It's always been great: the welcome when you walk in the door, the service from the waitress, the food, the show... all 5 stars! Our most recent, however, left much to be desired. The male host gave attitude the moment that we walked in to the door: he was condescending, curt, and just rude! Put us in a horrible spot and said "This is all we have" and walked away, when we asked to be moved. - Our usual Hibachi chef saw that my sister-in-law was aggravated and told us that he'd take us at his table. He motioned over to the host and the host shook his head no. They went back and forth for a minute and finally the chef told a server to move us. From that point on: everything was great, until we got the bill; 18% gratuity for 5 people. We had 7-8 people on our previous 3 visits, and not once was gratuity added. So why on this visit of only 5 people? - Our only thought was that we pi**ed off the host, by going around him and having the chef move us, and he had our server add it. If that's the case, all he did was hurt the server's tips... we always tip 20%. This time the hibachi chef got the extra that would have gone to the server. read more

Hammond is my college home so whenever I'm in town there are certain places I have to visit. Kirin is one of them. We were in town for a girls day at the movies and stopped in for an early dinner. We sat at the bar waiting on the rest of our party for a few cocktails. I may have over indulged on a pomegranate martini, cosmo and after dinner drinks at the upstairs bar/lounge. Lol. Service is always cool for the most part. We ordered our normal faves. The Cajun Roll is a fried roll with shrimp and seafood topped eel sauce. Usually folks don't like to share so you must get your own. The Seafood Yakisoba is another fave. Filled with shrimp, crab, mussels, and calamari...and it's super filling. Of course you can't go wrong with old faithful Sesame Chicken and fried rice. A staple to visit in the fast growing city. I remember when this town didn't even have traffic. Lol. read more

Amazing experience for Hammond , the cook was amazing another secret spot , and soooo worth it we met great people

The food was great, we sat at the grill. The guy working with us was knowledgeable and friendly he guided us on rice choices.

This is my favorite place in the Northshore for Sushi and Hibachi. The service is good, everything is fresh and yummy, and the prices are ok. I've had hibachi a couple of times and you do have to wait on weekends of course, but they have two big bar areas that you can wait and have drinks and even order a sushi roll. The hibachi fried rice is so yummy, and that whiteish sauce is divine of course. They will give you more if you ask! Veggies are good except a bit too much zucchini over everything else. I have had before steak, scallops, filet mignon, chicken and shrimp. The shrimp is definitely my favorite! Cooked to perfection! I've also had a lot of their rolls and they've yet to disappoint. Tip: if you're sitting for hibachi and order sushi, make sure to remind them to bring them chopsticks as they often forget. Definitely will be back over and over again! read more

Ordered the grilled tuna plate. It came with a soup and salad. Both were good. The plate it self was a lot of food. It was very tasty but I was not able to finish it all. I think my date and I could have actually shared this plate but either way it was good and we had leftovers for the next day. This is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants in the Tangi Parish area. My sorority sisters and I went to Kirin for our founders day celebration. The wait was not long at all (it was Monday) and we were seated at the hibachi table immediately. The serves came about 3-5 min after we were seated. She took out drink orders and came back quickly to get the food orders. The cook came. He did not verify our orders. He proceeded with preparation of the meals. The rice was so salty. Like to the point where it was not edible. I asked for white rice to cut it and that didn't work at all. Next he started we the shrimp. I ordered chicken and shrimp. He forgot my shrimp. He cooked the vegetables and chicken and I still hadn't received my shrimp. In between entrees he would clean the grill with the scrapper and I told him in 2 previous occasions that stuff was flying in my food. Finally after all the food was served, he managed to give me the shrimp. Right after, he started scraping the grill and my sauce was filled with scrapings from the grill. It was then that I called the manager. I explained to him what had occurred and he just stared at me ( there could have been a language barrier) When the waitress bought the ticket my meal was still on there and I asked her to take it off because I didn't touch it and they did. read more
