This was such a treat! Not only did we dine in an old train station, we were served by a man with THE most southern accent I have heard. Even our friends who were with us, who are from Louisiana said "We requested his accent just for you." He was unbelievably attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I'm bummed I didn't get his name. At first I thought it was weird when we looked at the menu and it offered sushi, burgers, sandwiches, salads and pasta, but when the food arrived and my friends ordered sushi, all my doubt disappeared. Their sushi looked fresh and looked great. We ordered the burger with fries, a SIDE salad and their mozzarella sticks. When I received the side salad, I had to confirm this was the SIDE and our server confirmed it was. I asked what's it supposed to be on the side of? A small pig? Because the plate was the size of my head! The fries were so good, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, not to mention they were seasoned perfectly, that I hardly had room to eat my burger and had to take most of it home. (Luckily our hotel had a microwave because fourth meal was amazing) I could have sat there all afternoon to keep trying the food, but sadly we had to move on. Would I dine or dash? Dine. This was very disappointing, maybe it's because I'm from Houston. My friends and I seemed to be ignored by workers. Even getting sat down it was odd, felt like we were being judged from the way we looked. Waiter didn't seem interested in serving us at all nor even attempting to make a connection for basic service. Food was bland, I had the Alfredo shrimp and crawfish pasta. There's no seasoning at all the pasta was white. Fish thin and fried soft. Taking my plate home to attempt to revive it with seasoning.Didn't enjoy this at all. First time visiting this restaurant and what a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is huge and clean with really cool decorations. . The service was friendly and attentive. However, my only negative is that the washroom door didn't lock The sweet tea is delicious and refreshing, had a couple of refills it tasted so good. Fried seafood platter: catfish was thin but crispy, shrimp and oysters were plump and delicious. Red Bean and rice: only had a bite of it but it was good and hearty. The portion was huge. I didn't know what to expect getting sushi from here but I gave it a try anyway and it was great! The fish was fresh, the sashimi was fresh, and the flavor combinations and sauces were delicious. We also got a steak and it was beautifully cooked, tender, and had wonderful beefy flavor. I would recommend this place and would definitely come back the next time we're in town. read more

Oh Cate Street, how I adore you. I have been coming here since I was a kid, and I've eaten about a hundred rolls from here in my time! The Hawaiian roll is my absolute favorite roll. I usually go for a different second roll (coco loco) but I was craving eel so I tried the dragon roll and it was amazing! We are new to the area. This has become a go-to of sorts. Closest sushi to Seattle we have seen. We are big sushi eaters. The tuna is fresh and flavorful here. The salads are incredible. Service has been stellar each of our visits. My daughter has decided this is her favorite place in Louisiana. The ambiance is nice. It can be a bit noisy depending on the time you visit. However, service never suffers, nor does the quality of the items we have ordered. Do wish they were open on Wednesdays. We are still getting adjusted to living in an area where almost everything is closed on a Sunday. read more

This place is pretty popular in the Hammond area. So prepare for at least a 15 minute to 45 minute wait if you go on the weekend. I've been here several times and in all honesty, the experiences have varied from 1star to about 3.5 stars. That is the problem for me, the food is never consistent. You just never know what type of service or food quantity you're going to get. The menu is pretty sizable, ranging from Cajun favs to sushi. I've tried several items, including the sushi which was (once the prepared it with what I'd ordered. It took a couple tries on one visit) was pretty good. The chop is great when prepared properly, and the best thing going here is the garlic crispy potatoes. Seafood is seasoned and pretty decent also, but again when prepared well. If they could get (and keep) good servers, and a good system for consistency in the kitchen, this place could be so much better. read more
