I love going to ACE hardware store! Today I went with just a pice of a small metal that I had, to see if I can find something that's closer to the size of it. Of course I was greeted with a smile and "what can I help with?" I had the pleasure of being helped by Michael today!!! He went above and beyond to help me find what I needed and he didn't give up until he found what I went there for! Ace has terrible warranty and refund practices. They don't honor "ace" warranty, it's whatever the store wants to do. You don't get rewards points for most purchases and they don't put your purchases towards your rewards points anyway. Even if you specifically ask them to they still botch it up. I will not spend another dollar on that store. read more

A great in-and-out kind of place that does indeed tend to have every little gadget I am looking for. Aside from one issue -- if you go in there looking for any painting type product, seems like you'll be redirected to their brand product even if you specifically asked for something that eventually you do find that they had in stock. But other than that, I have always really liked this store and found it very helpful. read more

At great personal risk, Jeff has stood up against the Oil Company and their goons by disobeying a police request to freeze the peaceful water protectors by not selling necessary heating propane to them. Morton County "sheriffs" lied to him that a propane tank he sold maimed Sofia. This atrocity was in fact caused by a police grenade fired at her while she supported the front lines. Plenty of witnesses saw it happen. Sofia was conscious and saw it herself. Thank you Jeff. Thank you everyone else who does the right thing. read more

Walked into Ace Hardware, basically turned around and walked out. None of the employees are wearing a mask; the owner wasn't either. I asked why not and was told that some people wouldn't shop there if a mask were required. Well, I won't shop there if masks are not required. I'll go somewhere else. Menard's is safer and cheaper. read more

Do not recommend for plants from greenhouse or purchasing at the south side ace. Purchased plants which blighted before being planted in the ground. They would not exchange because they "left their store healthy". Unfortunate way to learn they don't inform you when you purchase that they don't offer exchanges like other greenhouses do. Poor customer service. read more

I have never been to this store but will not be going to my local ace because this particular franchise refused to sell supplies to the water protectors at standing rock. The actions of this store manager are being felt around the country. read more

Dropped my Toro mower off for warranty repair a week ago and was told it would be ready in a few days. 7 days later grass needs mowing, called Ace answer was it could be a few weeks we are busy and our head mechanic only works part time. Went and picked up the mower found out it hadn't even been looked at after 7 days. Jeff the owner was a not much help couldn't tell me when the mower problem would even be diagnosed. He said to mow the grass bring it back in and you'll go in line again but no idea when it would be looked at or fixed, so I'd have to pick it up every week to mow my grass. Asked for other authorized service centers, no reply from Jeff. Left, checked authorized service centers and Ace Hardware didn't even come up in the search. Not impressed, going to an authorized service center after the grass is mowed. read more

Ace Hardware is a great place for hardware, but it also has an awesome selection of cookware and kitchen gadgets. All of the items they carry are good quality and they seem to have "extra" stuff that you just can't find at Target or Walmart. They only have about 4 or 5 isles worth of kitchen stuff... I wish they had more. Every time I've been here, the staff are always helpful because they know what you are talking about and they know exactly where to find it. Last time I went there, I picked up a couple cool little orange peelers, and some nice rubbery spoon rests that clip on to a pot or pan. read more

Worst customer service in all a Bismarck! In a city where bad service is the norm, this place has provided the most extreme, insulting customer treatment I have ever experienced. If you like bad treatment and high prices, this is your kind of place! Not only that, but the line will be shorter by one frequent customer. Quite a few years ago, I bought an extra house key. It didn't work. I went in with my key to get them to redo it. They said we don't sell those keys. When I insisted that I had bought the key there, they called a manager and he immediately told me to get out of the store- not letting me say anything. When I left I realized that I had shown them only my key that I wanted to reproduce which didn't have the Ace name on it. I did have the little bag in my car, but had failed to bring that in also. My husband, a loyal ACE customer insisted we go back and try to explain. We talked to a lady, who said she would check it out. We never heard from them again. I understand that they may have misunderstood and thought I was trying to pawn off my own key as theirs, but they did not have to demand that I get out of the store. They could have easily said , "I'm sorry, but we would need a receipt." but to rudely demand that I get out of the store is not an example of a "Friendly Hardware Store". I purchased a mini torch for heating my acrylic paintings. I had it 1 week, used it twice and it stopped working. I tried to exchange it and they refused saying because it says "culinary" on the label and I didn't use it for food that the vendor "might" not let them return it to them. It's the same torch I could buy in the hardware department at Lowe's that doesn't say culinary. So $23 down the drain. Sorry ACE hardware. You lost a customer over an item that probably cost you $8. read more

I had very bad customer service from the owner himself today ! I went to return a bowl that I received as a gift , so I had no receipt. The employee called Jeff Hintz to the checkout because I didn't have a receipt and when he came up , he said " it's a clearance item and its been more than 30 days , so I say no!" And he picked it up and said " and no receipt, that's 3 reasons!" He slammed it down and walked away! I was quite embarrassed and shocked at his rude way of handling a customer . He had 3 legit reasons for not returning my item, but had NO reason to be so rude ! I will never go back in his store. If it was one of his employees , I would have let it go but the owner should have more sense than that !! read more

Iam a do it yourself guy.So i when into this store located on 7th st. Asking question,this manager,supervisor,to be(frank) was rude and somewhat of an asshole towards me.He wouldn't take the time.All he would say is i needed to call an electrician or contractor.That didn't help me.So i when to your competitors store,were i got answers,in the form of self-help books and videos.I may have spent more money then necessary, but it was worth it.......I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS STORE AGAIN!!!!! read more
