FIVE STARS…read more I hired Peter to do some extensive work on my Cabin in the Western Catskills (Near Walton NY) and from the our initial conversations it was crystal that this man was really smart, a problem solver, creative and really knowledgeable about all things contracting. He attentively listened to my vision for creating a cabin that fused simple minimalism with modern appeals and amenities. He asked many questions and then set out to execute that vision with elevation by elevation brainstorm sessions. Once I knew that we were on the same page with respect to the vision for the cabin then Peter brought in his crew to make it happen. They went through this place like a contracting tsunami, working diligently everyday to get the job done. The project began with prepping for the buildings power wash which meant removing many items from the building that the previous owner had installed like satellite dishes, decorative animals and planters. After that was done Peter did a beautiful job of power washing the exterior during a serious rainstorm. He was like a machine!!! I have never seen anything like it before. It was 58 degrees outside (chilly) and torrentially raining while he did the job which took all day but he did not stop until he was satisfied with the quality of his work. After it all, it is clear that he holds himself and the quality of his work to the highest standards possible. He also shared his ideas for various aspects and stages of the project development that made the original vision even better than originally planned. For example, we were looking to add a splash of color around that house and had settled on a red front door but with Peter's input we changed course and painted parts of the porch red instead. That pivot mades the front of the house look fantastic and modern like Louboutin Shoes!!! Peter is a mastermind and I could go on and on about how great of a job that he did on our cabin but I'll let the photos do all the talking. I would like to also say that Finish Line Contractors were extremely responsive to my calls, scheduling, and were incredibly reliable. They were also so trustworthy that we gave him access to the house even when we weren't onsite so that he could get the work done on time. In the end, I feel very fortunate to have Finish Line Contractors do my renovation. They made the final result better than the original vision. I plan to use them for another build in the spring because the initial experience was so great. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a talented, honest, hardworking visionary contractor that gets the job done right.

We knew this was going to be our forever home so had high expectations- which Interstate truly exceeded. Interstate Homes was the only builder we visited with genuinely personable staff, transparent communication, and zero pressure. Deciding to build with them was hands down the best decision we could have made- and a true Turnkey experience. From day one Neil, Tim, Eddie and the rest of the crew were incredible to work with. Our journey started at the showroom when we met Tim. He gave us his direct contact information right off the bat and patiently walked us through every single detail. He worked with us through more than 20 floor plan revisions until the layout was absolutely perfect and helped us decide when we were stuck on design details like backsplash color. Shortly after, Neil came out to walk our raw property- which at that time was just an open field through the trees. He saw the potential that we saw and helped us visualize our dream- mapping out the land and designing our walkout basement picture-perfect. When build time came, Greg and crew did phenomenal work handling all the groundwork and foundation construction. Doing the site prep, extensive grading, installing the engineered septic system, constructing the ICF foundation, and pouring the basement flooring. Then the interstate crew stick-built the rest of the walk out and got the site all ready for delivery. As with any build, we ran into massive external headaches- from bank financing hurdles to months and months of waiting for NYSEG to set electric poles. Because of those delays, our home delivery got pushed right into the dead of winter. Through every single schedule change, Interstate was there to help us along the way and made the very stressful process seem much less stressful. They adjusted their own timeline to accommodate us and despite having plenty of other customers, they truly made us feel like we were their only one. ​Their character really showed on delivery day. Due to transit delays, the trucks had to navigate a narrow, hilly town road in pitch-black darkness. A tire accidently caught a small edge of our neighbor's lawn, and Neil was back out the very next morning to repair and reseed it without hesitation. That level of accountability and respect is rare and hard to find. ​Once the house was set, Eddie and the rest of the Interstate crew went straight to work assembling the interior, finishing the siding, doing the plumbing and electric, completing the hookups, and much more. They even took on extras that were not on their original list, like installing our high-efficiency heat pump water heater when we made a last-minute switch away from the propane. When we were in the final stretch before the walk through and move in day, workers even volunteered to work on a holiday just to finish our front entryway steps so we could get our CO in time. ​We couldn't be more pleased with the build quality of our home and the character, communication, professionalism, and expertise of the entire Interstate Homes crew. If you are planning to build, save yourself the headache and go with them- "Life is too short to stick build"

Upright posts were sunk no more than 16 inches and they were far from plumb. They were not braced as the cement was curing. He had untreated wood in contact with the ground. Facia boards weren't fastened to the rafters correctly if at all. He did not supply a contract stating his policies. After giving him $1000 down, and making a deal that we would pay $250/month, he demanded payment in full, and without supplying a bill. When i asked for a bill, he trespassed on my property and destroyed the structure, leaving it strewn all over the ground. AND he kept my $1000! What kind of lunatic does all that??

Our 40-year old decks were in need either of replacement or significant maintenance, so having seen…read morean ad in a local publication, in the spring of 2020 we contacted American Deck Builders (ADB) and several other contractors, sending photos and measurements with a request for quotes. ADB responded within two days with a well-defined replacement project description and cost with options for pressure treated wood or Trex synthetic material. (The other contractors either did not bid or in one case, provided a cost number with absolutely no description of the work to be done.) We responded to ADB that we were interested in taking the next step and co-owner Brendon Lawrence subsequently came to examine the project and brought material and color samples. We selected Trex, chose color and affirmed our desire to proceed. Unfortunately, the pandemic shutdowns were initiated and work could not progress until spring 2021. Brendon and co-owner/project supervisor Brendan (last name??) came again to finalize the project and offered a couple of great suggestions on some details. ADB obtained the building permit and began work that same day with a crew of five. Teardown of the three existing decks took less than a day. Although the weather was initially uncooperative, they worked through cold and snow--but not rain. Starting at 7am each day, the experienced crew worked smoothly and cooperatively to accomplish their tasks. Each of the eight nights, they picked up and stored all materials, scrap and tools, leaving the grounds as neat as possible while the project was underway. They did an amazing job, displaying terrific attention to detail and workmanship. When the job was completed after nine days, we could not have been more pleased with the results. American Deck Builders gets five stars from us.
