    Caesar salad Amazing!!
    D J.

My second review ever on yelp, because this is the best caesar salad i have ever had ! All for $9 (no tax or tip because it's Australia! love this place) Dont let the photo fool you thats a bowl the size of a 11" dinner plate and 3 in deep ! found this place two weeks ago this is my 5th caesar ! :)

We got takeaway from here early one Saturday evening after we'd visited Luna Park. Maybe the ovens hadn't warmed up yet but the offering was pretty bleak. The pizza was half an inch thick with chewy cheese. The sort of cheese that makes you commit, feeding just a little more into your mouth in the hope that the cheese will break. Only it didn't it just dragged more cheese with it. My mouth was left full of cheese and the slice below was rendered anemic and floppy. Margherita with the emphasis in all the wrong places! I hope my experience is the exception rather than the rule.

    Veal schnitzel

If you like meat or pizza, then you will like this place. Plenty of choice on the menu, nice relaxing place to have lunch/dinner. I had veal schnitzel which was served with fried potatoes & German cabbage salad, it was hot & cooked well. My husband had beef cheek on tomato sauce both were delicious, the service was speedy. Reasonably priced & Would visit again.

Chorizo Pizza - can't go wrong with this one!

We tried the margarita pizza and the smoked salmon pizza. The service was very prompt and the food was delicious.

Bravo - I ordered a Primavera pizza (vegetarian). Not much of a variety of fresh veg, plenty of cheese tho. The cheese was good - another main was seafood based, apparently the fish didn't taste nice and the texture was off. - side salad was over powered by grainy Parmesan cheese flakes and a balsamic dressing with little to no honey flavors as described, pear was hard and not sweet at all. - kids Hawaiian pizza came out late and with only ham and cheese. Apparently the chef is still learning the menu. - complete credit however goes to the Servers here. Professional despite the circumstances that were out of their control. Very polite and sincere, even offering a free scoop of icecream for the child who got a Hawaiian pizza without the pineapple

Handmade in front of you, so none of that mass produced feel you get at other places. Pizza is good, service is friendly. When I came to collect our order they were running maybe 5 minutes behind - it wasn't a big deal, and I didn't even complain or raise an eyebrow. Even so, when I grabbed the pizza the guy told me to grab a free big drink from the fridge. I take that as a sign he cared enough to correct a mistake, even if it hadn't been complained about. I will definitely go back here.

They're both siblings from the 'Supreme' family and thus possibly the least gourmet offerings on the menu, but who cares? They're dastardly good. If you're feeling a bit more adventurous than me (and let's face it, that's not hard), I can also recommend the Greek Lamb, the Chargrilled Eggplant and the Chicken Tandoori pizzas. They definitely give Crust a run for their money - figuratively and literally, a medium is $17 and a large $21, and there's free local delivery. If you're dining in, the place is helpfully BYO ($1.50 corkage per person) and there's a bottleo two doors down so you're set. Now just see which special you're going to try.

An awkward 20 second silence ensued, then - ding! - a little lightbulb went on as I realised he was the front counter guy from Pizzeria Rio. Let's quickly gloss over the fact that I ordered pizza so often from my local woodfire joint that they recognise me out and about, and focus on the impressive aspect of this evening encounter: the service factor. Clearly, these guys pay attention to who prefers their 'Venice' topping chicken-free - leaving a delicious and vegetarian combo of artichoke, mushroom, pesto and olives - with an oh-so healthy side of garden salad. (Yes, that's also me). I love that they use a homemade tomato sauce as well as low-fat mozzarella in toppings to help you out on the guilt front. And how can one possibly not enjoy a pizza that arrives to your door in the shape of a square? To your door on Upper Pitt Street, that is.

Aside from the unique square bases this is traditional pizza - that's not to say Napoli traditional, but Friday night with a footy-game and a foil-wrapped garlic bread traditional; simple combos that make sense instead of strained gourmet monstrosities. The toppings are never oily or cheese-drowned, and the fresh bases are perfect: neither cracker-thin nor dense and bready. As I say, you can eat in - they might even give you a plate - or go for home delivery, but this is the definitive Australian take-out pizzeria: it's warm and bustling and heady with mouth-watering smells of the pizza oven. The perfect place to duck in for a cameo before everyone's sacred night of indulgence: pizza night.

This place is an absolute embarrassment. Zero stars if that were an option…read more We personally confirmed with the manager earlier in the evening that they would be open and serving food after our commitment ended around 9:30 PM. He explicitly told us the kitchen closes at 10:30 PM (despite the hours on the door stating 11 PM). We clearly said we would return around 10 PM to sit down for pizza and a beer. He acknowledged this and said it was fine. We returned at 10:02 PM -- and suddenly the story changed. Now it was takeout only, and apparently there "wasn't enough time." When we showed him the time on our phone, he laughed and dismissed us. This wasn't confusion or bad timing -- it was blatant dishonesty followed by rude, arrogant customer service. If you don't want to serve customers after a certain hour, then be upfront about it. Unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely undeserving of anyone's business. There are countless great food options nearby -- do yourself a favor and avoid this place entirely. PS: Congratulations -- you managed to be the only bad experience we had in all of Australia.
