Albuquerque is the best of cities, Albuquerque is the worst of cities, it is a city of beauty, it is a city of ulgy, it is a city with wealth, it is a city of crime and poverty, it is a city of mountains, it is a city of valleys, it is a city of red, it is a city of green, it is a city of science, it is a city of superstition, there are too many people living in this desert, and there are not enough people living in this oasis, there are an infinite number of good restaurants, there are no good places to eat, it is a great place to raise a family, it is the worst place for a kid to grow up, it is a city of hot air balloons, it is a city of cold water rivers, it is a city of hot and dry days, it is a city of dark and stormy afternoons - in short, I believe that Albuquerque has only one face: that of a violent contradiction. I stopped along the freeway at Commanche and I 25 to confront the guy . I had a bb gun in my hand. later as I was detained for questioning she asked me about a gun I told her yeah I had a pellet pistol and pointed it at the dirt in front of his car, pointed it at the dirt, oh did I say that. I told her the bb gun was on the seat of my Silverado, but being the fine police specimen she is she refused to look. Instead she arrested me the one who called 911 for help at the age of 66 I was thrown in jail. the problem is is that APD gives any POS a gun and says go enforce the law and it was pretty obvious that this young Asian lady was about the dumbest police officer I ever met. conclusion, if you get in trouble and need help in Albuquerque do not call 911 or eve 242-cops.

I've lived in Albuquerque for eight years now and getting a library card has been on my list for awhile, especially now that I'm done with college haha. The facilities are super nice, again the building is brand new. The book selection was awesome and they had a ton of new titles. Getting my card was a super easy process, I just had to fill out a paper with some basic info as well as show my I.D. and a utility bill on my phone for proof of address. That was it, quick and super easy. Staff was friendly and it was a good reminder that there are plenty of spaces around town with free wifi outside of coffee shops (not that I want to spend any less time at coffee shops. Glad to see this community space open!

There were relatively few people there but there were only two staff and the supervisor had locked herself out of her computer because she'd forgotten her password. I worked in tech for 25 years and it happens occasionally, but you call someone to reset your password. You don't sit around helplessly when you have 10 people waiting. Beyond that she seemed very chaotic and disorganized. It took her 10 minutes just to take our names and another 10 to start helping us. But THEN after her confusing and chaotic help we had to wait another 10 minutes for the one active employee to process our info. SHE was very efficient. Another woman had been at the counter when we came in and was waiting for her daughter to come in to finish the transaction. Apparently the chaotic supervisor had missed this conversation and rudely interrogated the woman about why she was there. It was such a bad experience that I opted for a main MVD branch when I had to do update my driver's license. I understand that bureuacratic work like this is difficult but it's more difficult when the person you're relying on for help is chaotic and inneficient.
