    Seaweed salad

Stopped by Kissho with my family on our way to NY. The restaurant is in a small strip mall and wasn't hard to find. Note: restrooms are located outside the restaurant and down the hall, you'll need a code to access it. I ordered a bunch of sushi to share. The seaweed salad was small, but tasty. My son had a ginger salad which he normally loves at Japanese restaurants but he said the dressing was just ok and there wasn't a lot of it. Miso soup and dumpling soup were ok. I had imagined my dumpling soup to be dumplings instead of the shumai but it wasn't bad. The sushi was good though I didn't care for the volcano roll. The presentation could have been better. I was expecting some fire or something resembling a volcano. It tasted much different than volcano rolls I've had at other places, probably because of the flakes that it was covered it (it was quite fishy IMO). The rest of the rolls were good and tasted fresh. Service was ok. We were seated pretty quickly and the waitress pointed out which sushi rolls were what when it came out but didn't refill out drinks.

I know that this little spot has been around for a while, but my daughter and I got put on to this gem recently. This is a small, intimate dining room. It feel like you have your own personal chef. Perfect date night ambience. The server is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The menu is diverse with classic sushi and many options for non sushi eaters or first timers. The food is artfully prepared and delicious. Come check this restaurant out?

Love this place - the sweet potato roll is awesome. I would honestly eat anything they put in front of me. They need a "surprise me" option. They do mostly take out, but the restaurant is clean and the people are friendly.

Excellent sushi house. Not a big place on the inside with about 8 tables. Sushi was fresh and prepared quickly even though they were pretty busy that evening. Looks as tho they do more takeout than dine in. Little unusual setup with the bathroom as you need to go outside and down a hall to the strip center communal bathroom. Don't forget to get the code to unlock the door.

    In the mood for sashimi

We were in the mood for sashimi. They served up a fresh dish of salmon, tuna, yellow tail and white fish. It was purely a protein delicacy that I was in the mood for. I was a little hesitant walking into an Japanese spot for sushi and I believe I saw only 1 Japanese person. I was caught off guard and pleasantly surprised to see that a Spanish speaking gentlemen was at the sushi bar cutting up and rolling sushi - that was cool (but I was nervous). The color, temperature and taste was a pure delight of freshness. Their soups were steaming hot and filled with just the right amount of spices. A really good sushi place.

I've been looking for a new favorite sushi restaurant since moving back to the area recently, and this just might be it. I grabbed takeout tonight, two Chef's Rolls -- the Lobster Roll and the Ichiban Roll. Both were fantastic! Great flavor. Friendly service at the front podium as well. Will definitely come back once things are opened back up for dine-in.

I've been here twice now, and I have to say my second experience was lots better than the first time. My first experience with Kissho would have earned 3, maybe 4 stars. For my second experience, I had possibly the best sushi I've had in York. The fish was as fresh and tasty as any other place in York has to offer. The food was very well prepared, which always makes the sushi experience that much better. I've only ever had takeout here, and I have to say I'd now like to try eating there just to see how artistic the sushi chefs are. I view a plate of sushi like a work of art and I would like to see a set up a little different than sushi stuffed into a to go box. The calamari was also excellent here. It was still crispy even after getting the to go order home. The atmosphere also seems nice for a small little place. The staff is very friendly too. Prices are on par with other local sushi restaurants. This is quite the gem for York. I can remember growing up in York when there probably was not even one sushi restaurant. Now there are numerous places to get sushi, and this one gets my vote as the best place to get it. Give it a try if you find yourself in the area.

Kissho is our "go to" for sushi! Prices are good. Sushi is fresh and beautiful. Lots of choices, but not too many that you feel overwhelmed. Staff is friendly. We usually always do take out, have dined in once and the experience was very good. We just prefer our sushi at home in our jammies with a beer.

Good food, tiny restaurant. I digged the 90's grunge music they had playing while I was there.

Everyone at their tables were complaining too and they were even holding up DoorDash drivers. After the long wait I finally cracked and made the lady who appeared to be running the place (every other time a man was running the place and the experience was excellent... interesting) make it a takeout order because at this point it was almost 9:00. A half hour to 45 mins later she finally says our food was ready. A lot of the food was seen sitting by the register from when I initially complained. I sincerely regret that I paid cash, I should have charged it to my Amex card and initiate a chargeback refund. I asked the woman if there was a way I could get a discount for waiting 2 hours and she simply said 'No, we very busy we very busy.' She then took my cash and said 'thank you have a good night' and she was hoping I'd forget to ask for change but luckily I'd be damned if she got a tip so obviously I made her give me my $2.50 in change. It only takes like 5 minutes to cook nooders? I don't see what the big hubbub was about. Long story short, I paid $45 for Oyako Sushi to ruin me and my girlfriend's valentine's day dinner. There are so many better ways to go about busy nights than say 'No we are very busy.' Perhaps cut off seating until you're caught up, warning people of the long wait, offering comp'd meals or discounts. This experience completely ruined my view on this restaurant and I do not think I will ever step foot again. They do not care about their customers.

So, we looked up the menu online and were astounded to see "Human Dumplings: on the menu. I know it was a typo but it was damn funny. We ordered them. They were yummy little pork filled dumplings with some kind of brown sauce on top. I also had the scallion pancake, which I absolutely love. It was with the entrees where we ran into trouble, I ordered the Shrimp Tempura dinner. I get this meal frequently in other places. It's pretty standard. I asked our server, because I wanted to know and she responded, "Shrimp." Usually, yes, when you get it as an appetizer, it's just shrimp. As an entree, it's usually a few shrimp and tempura veggies as well. She seemed confused. Lately, I've been getting the same shrimp tempura every where I go. They come frozen, pre-coated. It's a little disappointing. Especially when compared to the veggies, that were clearly just dipped in a batter and fried. Here, I got a couple chopped asparagus, a few pieces of onion, cut into big squares, some sweet potatoes, and three huge chunks of broccoli, which is my least favorite. It also didn't come with a dipping sauce. Shrug. The ervice was attentive and prompt.
