I love this branch, everyone is so helpful and very friendly. Always get personalized and respectful service.

The Bremerton branch was helpful, nice people, BUT when dealing with the main bank customer support team I realized this bank is horrible. They are about making money, not about customer satisfaction. I would never recommend this bank to anyone. There are better banks out there, don't waste your time with these people. I was stuck on an island near Canada, with no way to make a deposit, My debit amoints showed up delayed and the forced a $28 fee on me over a $1.33 overage. I told them please wait 3 days and $1,500+ would be in there in 3 days, they did not care. Wells Fargo years ago were understanding and reveresed the fee. If I was not on the island I had plenty of money I could have deposited, but there are no credit unions/arms here of any sort. Poor poor customer service, please save yourself from becoming their next victim. Corporate greed is sad, and destroying the world. I now bank with a federal credit union. Not everyone has that option, but look around before making your decision. I would give zero stars if there was an option. UPDATE: Worst bank ever, now to top it all off I have had 4 days without any online banking or phone banking. They are updating their 22 year old system. What a joke, no way to access account should not be allowed. I can use my card still but if my balance is lower then I expected, more of those great $28 fees they will force me to pay. So sick of this company, complete garbage. I have only been a member for 90 days and it as been a non-stop nightmare. I will not be using this account any more once October is here. I cannot wait to let my account sit and collect dust. DO NOT waste your time or money with these people!! Unless you like poor quality service and being robbed. I understand the need to update and stay current, but be smart about it!! -VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER ANOTHER UPDATE 8/20/14: I am already unhappy with this bank, now to add to it, I went to a wells Fargo atm, since I am spending 4 1/2 months on an island with limited atm availability, wells Fargo applied a $3 charge and in addition I was charged a $1 non Kitsap credit union atm fee.. why?! So much for caring about customers, the only thing they care about is pinching pennies out of our pockets. $1 isn't a big deal one time, but it can add up over time. It should be an included courtesy. Lousy bank! I have received no good benefits from my account and I continue to be disappointed by them. 5 more weeks until my account can sit idle. read more

I really struggled between a 2 and 3 star, but their phone service is absolutely horrible. I realize businesses want us to do transactions online and I would rather do it online, but sometimes you need to talk to someone. Hold times of over 5 minutes, on a continual basis are not acceptable. read more

This bank used to be great and I have been a member for over 4 years. But recently they decided to shut down my account and that they were done doing business with me. Not only was this extremely inconvenient but I also received no notice until I contacted them. read more

It's like banking in Maybury. It has a warm small town feel...and everyone cares enough to know your name. We've been banking with Kitsap Credit Union for over 25 years and they've NEVER let us down. We've now have just about every account possible through them....including our mortgage. They recently helped us figure out how to finance our son's college tuition. I threw them a curve ball last week and asked how I wished I could electronically send money from my account into my son's account....stating it would save me a trip into town. No problem....one form solved the problem. I now can do all my banking from home...even transfer funds over to my son's seperate bank account. Warm friendly home town banking at it's best! This bank has the worst phone service I have ever experienced with any business of any kind. It puts the customer into an endless set of loops and nearly impossible to get personal assistance on the line. When I finally got someone on the line, they simply gave me a different number to call! I called it and ended up in the same automated loop! I was trying to reset my pin on my debit card, and never was able to complete this task over the phone. This bank closed my branch and now I have to drive an hour round-trip to get to a branch. The service at the Poulsbo branch is slow and there are always lines. The turnover seems high - I have never seen the same teller twice. Also the branch hours are much more limited than other banks in the area. My advice to anyone shopping for a bank is to go anywhere but KCU. If you want a credit union, try BECU. They seem to have happy customers, and a KCU employee I know even banks with BECU! read more

I love my credit union! Kitsap CU is friendly, not in that "I have to be nice to you" way, but instead in the "We really care!" way. They give me the same free checking everyone else has. They're all over the county. They know my name at the local branch and have even figured out how to say my annoyingly Dutch last name. They're open 'til 3pm at some locations on Saturday. They don't "courtesy overdraft" and charge you 40 bucks for doing it. They funnel the money back into the community. I sound like a damn ad. They're just that good. read more

Terrible customer service. I've been a LOYAL customer for years but apparently that means nothing to them. I had a fraud problem with someone using my account and they told me to call the companies the criminal spent money at? WTH? That's not my job, that's why I have a bank, to protect my money. They basically accused me of doing it, then told me it may take up to 10 days to get my money back. That's MY money, you thieves! As soon as I get my money back I am terminating my account with them. They were so rude on the phone too. I work in customer service and they have no idea what that even means. I can't believe there allowed to handle people's money, they're so incompetent. Go somewhere else, where your money is protected and fraud is guaranteed to be taken care of. read more

For the first time in 26 years, I overdrew my checking account while I was dealing with family problems. Kitsap Credit Union gave me a chance to explain the situation and gave me credit for maintaining a trouble-free account all those years. They waived the courtesy fees. If I could give this bank zero stars I would, I'm actually thinking about filing a complaint through the Attorney Generals Office. I haven't ever dealt with someone so disrespectful and rude over the phone, I will update this post with his name once I get it again. I absolutely dread having to call in because I know I will get his attitude. I have been so nice and polite, it's also pretty pathetic how he talks to a woman like he does to me. Our situation is already difficult enough, had some financial hardships for a while because of deaths of two of our pets and losing a baby. Finally getting back to where we need to be, long story short the bank took my car from my driveway like a bunch of snakes at like 6 am. Gave me no notice, of course Washington State has horrible laws for this sort of thing. It's actually the Banks's decision how they want to handle it and they will throw you under the bus and run you over. This bank doesn't give a crap about anyone or anything except making money off you, they would stab you in the back if they knew they could make a cent. Anyway I was not aware of any sort of past due amount, they never called me or sent me a notice. This guy tried to say they called me but somehow didn't have my phone number. It's pretty crazy how they can call people they don't have numbers for, they must be magicians as well. I've explained the situation to him trying to say at first that we had a financial hardship but he kept insinuating that I was a liar. So I had to sit there and explain to him the deaths of my pets and my baby, he basically forced me to do it and it brought me to tears. Then this guy has the nerve to still insinuate that I'm lying. It's like what do you want death certificates you insensitive piece of garbage. Every phone call is an attitude and lecturing, he is not helpful whatsoever instead he would rather get through his day disrespecting people who call in. It's impossible to make a payment in the first place their online banking is absolutely horrible. You enter your account information to create an account it says oh no such customer exists, I try again and it says the account is created. Then I try to login and it says I don't have an account, but when I click forgot account information it says there is an account. When you call to pay over the phone they charge a $15 fee for paying that way, so I either have to pay the extra $15 or drive all the way to the stinking bank. When I called to pay over the phone it always only gave me my current monthly car payment amount it never said anything about a past due balance. You think if they charge $15 for a payment over the phone they could invest some of it into a better system. I'm sure it's just another way they make money off people so why would they? I am so angry and devastated about losing this vehicle, to make it worse I feel abused every time I call in. I guess to them making money off someone in a difficult situation is the way to go. Instead they will end up selling my car for nothing, force me to pay the remaining balance and probably sue me if I don't that's how disgusting these people are. I have told them every day I call in I will pay the past due balance, fees, repo fees whatever but that's not enough of a profit for them I guess. They lose absolutely nothing someone gets the car for cheap, I pay the remainder of the balance on the loan on something I don't even have, plus their fees and whatever ever bs amount they come up with. Somehow all of the money I have paid into the vehicle isn't on the payoff amount it's the same as when I got it from the dealership, so they made all of those payments off me plus what they are going to make in the end. They think what is that person going to do about it they are struggling, we will just fight them in court and draw it out so long that they will run out of money and give up. That's exactly how places like this work, I'll make sure they lose all of their business through my family and friends. This place isn't very big, operating like this with this many complaints hopefully this place goes under. Their excuse in the end was my credit wasn't good enough to have the car even though it is the same as as I was when I signed the lease for the car. They used whatever excuse possible to not give it back, they even told me to pay the past due balance and fees and when I went to do that they wouldn't let me.
