Ashley is professional, kind and very smart. I enjoyed talking to her about my physical health and…read moreshe always had a nugget of information to share with me every time I brought up something that was bothering me. She taught me plenty about how our pelvic floor works and the importance of mind to muscle connection. I would recommend trying out internal pelvic floor therapy solely for the purpose of learning how your body works when under stress/when relaxed and how to breathe properly when engaging in exercises. I want to add the lady at the front desk is one of the more pleasant folks I've encountered when checking in, in comparison to other businesses. She greets you like she's glad to see you and scheduled me for several dates because she knew it would fill up. It's rare to see this in front desk employees. 5 stars for her too.

I'm still working with the wonderful Megan Morris in this clinic, but a couple of months or so…read moreafter we began working together I started p.t. for another issue. If you don't know what a vestibular system is, be grateful. I've gained more in-depth knowledge of mine than I ever wished for--and I never wished for any. But that's life, as a singer once claimed. A major benefit to receiving p.t. for this problem is that I get to work with Kristin Miller. Vestibular Rehabilitation is one of her specialties and she indeed knows her stuff. I began treatment suffering from intense balance issues and some vertigo but thanks to the exercises and stretches she's taught me those balance issues are no longer as intense as they were, and the recovery from those episodes is far quicker. Kristin has a background in gymnastics and she effectively employs it with me. When I get frustrated over not being able to maintain my balance during some of the walking exercises she'll tell me or show me videos how Olympic gymnasts lose their balance during a competition balance beam routine and how they recover it. So at times she's both a physical therapist and my gymnastic coach. She's relentlessly upbeat so I have to be too in her presence since it's infectious. I'm grateful to be working with Kristin; she's made a difference in my life. Two years ago I wasn't able to break out my kettle charcoal grill or my electric smoker because it set off debilitating balance and dizziness episodes something fierce. Not any more. This summer I'll return to full bore backyard grilling and smoking, Who knows? I might even try it on a balance beam.

I find there is no good bedside manner. We saw Margaret Lowe today in Port Orchard, and what a doozy. Loud, shrill, and annoying. I tried talking with her about vaccines and she kept talking over me, giving me basic scripted information, and basically scoffed at me when I showed my concern. We are absolutely another brick in the wall at this establishment, and I'll be on the look out for a more compassionate facility.

Fewer MD doctors are here than when Barbra Malich ran the place. Many good drs are long gone. You cannot call the front desk of your clinic, your call gets diverted to a que that is a long wait. The calls are answered in Bremerton even for clinics far away from Bremerton. So the staff that used to know you and whatever situation they are dealing with at their site cannot be the ones determining the patient flow. It is literally out of their hands. The best receptionists are gone.... Long waits to see a dr. No one helps you to get referrals made. The great receptionist teams they once had are replaced by a phone bank situation of sorts centralized into one location. And a computer takes the first call. Most of the medical care is given by PAs and ARNPs now. There is no choice. The two drs in Port Orchard atm are too arrogant and closed to listen to patients even if the complaints or of new or worsening conditions, especially if their cases are complex and serious and require more careful monitoring. Visits are limited to just one complaint, and less than 5 minutes. The doctors do not listen or examine patients throughly enough it seems to me and I am not the only patient reporting this. The reputation of PCHS has declined because of the way things are run on the medical side at PCHS. I will say the dental services are much better than the.medical services PCHS offers. I am leaving the medical part, because I have found a much better doctor elsewhere that truly cares about and addresses my complicated case needs. I feel unsafe being a medical patient here with this doctor as my pcp. My life feels jeopardized by her lack of action. All this is my observations as a patient who regrets choosing to try PCHS medical services once again.
