Here's the nitty gritty - why they deserve a 1 star rating. For a person in need, truly in need, they offer free stuff in the back room, when I looked it was decent furniture so I thought, wow, that is super nice. But wait. They require REQUIRE the people needing the furniture to attend a "service", which is so weird and cultish. Apparently they do the "service" upstairs... Then you really start to look around at the people that are working there, and they are super nice, until you ask for assistance from Tammy Faye B. It was awful. Do yourself a favor and donate/purchase from a cause/store that gives no matter what. No one deserves to have a Bible shoved down their throat, especially a person or family in need.

Parking is tight, so you may have to loop around once or twice and take note of their drop off times if making donations. My only (minor) gripe is with one of the staff members, a blonde lady, who can be fairly rude about what you're donating. My wife and I gave a Cuisinart appliance, a DeWalt cordless drill, a few odds and ends, and a pair of Wolverine work boots. The stink face she made at the boots was insulting. Before I could tell her what a used pair typically runs, she tossed them in a bin and made a bee line elsewhere. Sad. Just a week earlier, I took a few items in and everything went great with different person who was extremely appreciative.

I didn't think we would find one, but we found a very nice pillow and a GROOVY pillow case. It was like a wish came true. We also went back the next day and found MORE stuff. As if that wasn't enough, we went back the next day and found even more treasures. I will say that each time we went back, it was like going to a brand new store. In addition, all the staff was super friendly, fast and efficient. By the 3rd time we came in, we felt like seasoned regular customers. This is a must-stop destination whenever you go to the Island. Each time you go, it's like a whole new experience. So, do yourself a favor and get yourself on over to Vashon and be sure to stop by Granny's Attic!!

This is my favorite anywhere. (In fact, when I had moved away for a few months, it was one of the things I most missed from here!) I like that they have mostly higher-quality items which are always clean and usually scent-free. (I can't shop at stores like Goodwill anymore since everything seems to be sprayed with something which leaves a scent.) I am very knowledgeable about different brands and what their retail costs are, and for the time that I have been going to the store (mid-2020), they have priced their items perfectly (and at a small fraction of their retail costs). I have found the prices to be extremely competitive and accurate! (I can't say the same about another charity thrift store in the county that does overprice and misprice--but never here.) I have also found them to have an outstanding manager, staff, and volunteers. I was truly baffled by "WorldView's" an "It's Maia N.s" reviews below since what they described was the complete opposite of my experience in about every way, plus there aren't new "owners" since this is a charity store run by and benefitting Seattle Children's Hospital.

Many people who are rude and give negative reviews do not take the time to just talk with the on site owners, If they did they would change their mind!!! There are two owners of JK Treasures, the on site husband and wife (Both are amazing!) and another who lives out of state. The building had a roof job done but the contractor did shoddy work, charged an arm and a leg and refused to do repairs! That contractor has done the same to countless others who do not have the means to have another come in to fix his work! Now JK Treasures needs a whole new roof due to this contractors incompetence and the owners cannot afford it! People dump trashed items in their parking lot and the on site owners have to pay for the removal but get rude people bad mouthing them! People rummage through items and leave messes. Yes it is crowded with donated and consignment items but maybe y'all should take the time to put something back. Or better yet, offer to help! This second hand store has amazing prices and if more people took the time to shop there instead of judging how the building looks they'd find treasures! As a community we should pull together to help instead of allowing this business to fail! Contribute your time, efforts, knowledge and skills to keep this store going! The lady at the front of the shop was very helpful and informative. I found a few things that had to come home with me... LOL! We plan to have a "Girls Day Out" and come back soon! Update, we came back for an early Christmas shopping! We stopped in with a group of girlfriends on a day out. The lady there, is always friendly & knows her stock very well! As always, the items are well displayed, with the place being very neat and clean. We wandered through the beautiful shop and all found several things to take home! I found a great Cocoa sign for my kitchen and an extra-long pair of warm fingerless gloves... and some of her Christmas Peppermint Truffles! We plan to stop in each time we are in Poulsbo!

I'm leaving this review because my experience with this estate sale/auction company was stressful,…read moreunnecessarily complicated, and ultimately cost us money. My husband and I won nearly $500 worth of items in their Bainbridge Island auction. We live on Camano Island, so pickup required a ferry trip and significant travel time. The night before pickup, we noticed fraudulent activity on our bank account and our bank froze our cards. On the way to pickup, we contacted the company to explain that we would pay in cash. We were told they do not accept cash (or any payment) at the pickup site and were instructed to go to Walmart, buy a gift card, and use it to pay online before we could receive our items. This was odd, but we did it, which delayed us. After payment, we called again to confirm and to say we would be late. We were told it was fine and they would wait. While waiting for the ferry, we called once more to keep them updated. At that point they asked us to come the next morning at 9:00 a.m. instead, which we agreed to. The next morning we arrived early, but the ferry filled up and we had to wait for the next sailing. We immediately contacted the company, apologized, and explained we would arrive about 20 minutes after 9:00. During the ferry ride we received a text saying we had 90 minutes to remove our items. When we arrived, the person on site repeatedly emphasized the 90-minute limit and was rude from the start. Our items were spread throughout a three-story house, and access was only through the garage, so we were running up and down stairs and working as fast as we physically could. As the 90 minutes approached, he repeatedly demanded we choose items to "leave behind," even though we were actively moving everything out and had no intention of abandoning anything we paid for. As such we attempted to remove what we could from inside the house and placed those items next to our car to load. When the 90 minutes ended, he told us we could not take any more of our purchased items and forced us to leave items behind, even the items that we had removed but were not "in our car". He began taking those items we had already carried downstairs and were loading into our car and carried them back into the house. He also ripped a box out of my husband's hands as he was placing it in our trunk. A neighbor, who witnessed what was happening, kindly offered to let us park in his driveway so we could finish packing quickly without blocking anything. The company representative then told us we could not go to the neighbor's driveway and threatened to call the police--then actually did. When the police arrived, the neighbor confirmed we had permission to be there, and the officers told us (correctly) that this was a civil issue to work out with the company, not a police matter. Once we got home and accounted for what we were allowed to take versus what we were forced to leave, we calculated that about $180 worth of items we paid for were kept from us. To make matters worse, many of the items we did receive were not as described and/or not working. I understand "as-is" policies and that estate sales operate on tight schedules, but the way this was handled was hostile and unreasonable--especially given that we were present, working quickly, and communicating throughout the entire process. Over the past 10+ years we have worked with hundreds of estate and auction sellers and have never had an experience as disturbing as this. I strongly recommend that anyone considering bidding with this company read their contract carefully and understand that they may enforce it in a way that benefits them rather than trying to find a reasonable solution. Also worth noting: they have a physical store, so items they deem "abandoned" may simply be resold.

It's very organized and clean, and their stock rotates quickly. I like to chat with the volunteers about my purchases, they often have a fun story to share about the items. They accept a wide variety of items for donation, and have expanded to a furniture showroom close to the train tracks. That showroom has beautiful pieces, as well as lots of framed artwork. Sometimes I stop by more than once a week to see what's new!
