Cool kitchen!
Kar R.

KIVA IS A CREATIVE HEAVEN FOR THE INFLUENCERS, the WANNBE's and Even AGING BOOMERS with big ideas! Or really... anyone who has work to do and is tired of trying to get things done at over crowded coffee shops and restaurants. My husband works from home and has an amazing set up there. Unfortunately, it's home and that means there is always something pulling me away from my work and barging in with questions or comments or requests to feed the dog (ok that last one is something I keep doing because she's there staring at me..). When I come into the KIVA spaces - my mind is already on my work and settling in with others also there to "get it done" is inspiring and compelling. The place is always cool and clean and there's a lot of options about where to work. Of course... it's dynamic motion and there are more or less crowded days and times of the day, but there's always a little cafe table, a high stool space in the main, a spot outside in the yard or a space at the giant central tables with plenty of plugs and room to spread out. The WiFi is in fact "BLAZING FAST" and there's always someone around to help if you run into a technological glitch. The culture is one of work. So people are pretty focused with not a lot of "looking around" or "chit chat" going on... as a matter of fact, everyone knows the unwritten rules that unless someone is hanging in the kitchen... interrupting for random convo is considered rude - except for the staff that work there... they make you feel like you are the only reason they are there and they will literally stop what they are doing to help solve your problem. Michael and Dan always seem to be around and are full of knowledge and eager to share or just listen and often have connections or know someone to steer you to to help solve your needs. Plus... there's there's sometimes yummy treats in the kitchen (there used to be amazing soup every Tuesday and might still be I just haven't seen it out or haven't been around when it is)... and there's always coffee, iced tea, cold filtered water and an espresso machine that you can use or ask the staff to show you how....they all seem to know how to make that happen. There are more places to hang out and co-work in town now, but if you want to be around do-ers or if you are "stuck" and need some inspiration .... get a day pass and check it out! Or come for one of the talks, classes, community events or sign up to meet with a mentor who might help you find your next new thing. Check it out! Just sayin' KR

Every exhibit actually keeps them engaged not just looking, but doing. The interactive tables (like the spinning drum and dice games) were a hit. My kids didn't want to leave and kept going back to the same stations. It's also really clean, organized, and easy to navigate even with little ones. Pricing was reasonable for what you get abbout $25 for adults, $20 for kids, and under 2 is free, which is nice. Staff was friendly and everything felt well-maintained. You can tell they designed this place with kids in mind but adults still have fun too. Definitely a solid family day trip spot from LA. Would come back again

Pros: Close to the train stop…read more Lots of interactive activities Sensory cave to help battle overstimulation Cons: Not good for infants and toddlers. The lactation pod was super loud and not a great place to pump, luckily had the sensory cave. Their infant and toddler room is for walkers only because they don't close it off and make people take their shoes off so definitely not okay for babies like they claim who need a clean environment. Also very little toys. Better if you can already climb and walk. Expensive! They have a 90 mile rule for using reciprocal kids museums and Pasadena's Kidspace is 89 miles away. $25 an adult is not worth it for the parents of a non crawler.

So many of our guests told us it was the most beautiful wedding (and fun!) they've ever attended, and we couldn't agree more If you're looking for a venue that will go above and beyond to make your day unforgettable, this is it. One of the neatest reclaimed spaces I've ever seen…read more The Mill may appear as new construction, but the main building has actually been present for many decades to my knowledge. It was recently beautifully refurbished into an oasis of an artisan strip mall and offers surprises both inside and out. The venue is wonderfully landscaped and offers great curb appeal, with ambient lighting and drought tolerant vegetation. The parking area is small but there are reserved spaces in a lot across the street where Low Pigeon Coffee is located. The exterior retains its original "mill" charm with natural wood siding and large industrial windows. You'd have no idea it housed several businesses from the front and that is what I appreciate. The facade was kept to look like how it always has, so it remains in tune with the neighborhood rather than sticking out like a sore thumb. You'll find the coolest courtyard just beyond the entrance which is shared by all businesses. It is well lit and offers ample seating and a few clean restrooms. I've been when there is live music and it's the ideal place to enjoy a beverage under the evening sky. There are a handful of small businesses occupying The Mill. I love the vibe of Potek Wine, the interior is intimate and the exposed barrels make for a nice backdrop. I'd say the star of the show is the Third Window Brewing which offers a large main room along with a secondary private patio and a rotating restaurant which varies from their in-house menu to nightly popup dining. A great vibe overall.
