My husband got a cappuccino and I got one of the best darn blackberry muffins - loads of blackberries and not too sweet. I had a few bites and saved the rest for after a day at Zion. A few bakery items; not really a place for a meal - good for a sweet snack. Prices were reasonable considering the view. One bathroom, so you might need to wait. There is handicap parking closer to the coffee house and upper level parking where you walk down stairs. read more

Fun little place in the middle of nowhere. We had to stop because we had seen it on instagram when we were planning our trip to Calf Creek Falls . The view from almost every window was beautiful but the patio was stunning. We enjoyed our espresso and the desserts were really good especially the lemon bar. Most beautiful coffee shop in in the US? I had to see it for myself. I drove an hour out of my way on a Bryce Canyon trip. Yep. Gorgeous! Good coffee.. great vege sandwich with a view to die for. I loved visiting with my waitress. She told me there was two cottages to stay in as well. And suggested that I do the Escalante river hike, which I did. The leaves were changing, and the water was rushing because they had had a couple of rainy days. Just do it. Be aware that they open in March, and close the first week of November depending on the weather. They don't have heat and their water is from a spring so they have to turn it off before it starts to freeze. They are closed Monday and Tuesday and are open from 8 AM to 4 PM. Perhaps one of the most beautiful places to be drinking coffee and eating a pastry. The coffee special was very well acceptable, black coffee with creamer and sugar. The tiramisu was excellent, almost tasted homemade, which I asked, but no, not homemade, yet, it was delicious. The entire family enjoyed the coffee and pastry's. Customer service was great from the minute we walked in, small conversation, and a history talk of the coffee house itself. Provided information about why the coffee house was constructed in this way. Once you order, find a table and then bring your order to your table. Amazing help!! It's clear that coming here is worth the drive, even if it's 14 hours away from home, to experience Kiva Koffeeshouse firsthand. Wow! Stumbled upon this gem on the Escalante highway in Escalante Utah. THE MOST beautiful view of any coffee shop I have ever visited. Being in a remote-ish location, you would think the food would be old or stale or just not fresh. This could not be farther from the truth. I had the cheese berry danish, because I hadn't had breakfast yet, and it was delicious!. Above all, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous and they are understaffed, so give them a break! Kiva Koffeehouse and Kottage (Escalante, UT) Kiva Koffeehouse and Kottage is located off Highway 12 just a few miles from Main Street in Escalante. We first visited Kiva Koffeehouse last October a few days before they shut it down for the winter. During that visit, Kiva had only a few guests, merchandise & souvenirs were discounted, and their menu was limited. What wasn't limited during that visit was the spectacular views from inside Kiva, good service, and outstanding coffee & pastries. We knew we just had to come back when they were at full force. Our next visit didn't take long. We were back last week. Kiva Koffeehouse is unique on its own and perched on the edge of a canyon. The round structure and huge windows offer panoramic views of the canyon. The coffee is really good as well as their pastries and sweets. My favorite is their peanut butter cookie. Kiva was busy on our last visit and they should be because the coffee and vibe here is awesome. Service was also as good as it was last time. Cottages at Kiva aka kottages can also be rented here. As for the reason why Kiva likes to use "K" instead of "C" in their name, I have no klue why. All I know is that Kiva is a must if you're in the area. Kiva is Kool! This is one of the most unique coffee houses I've been to and highly recommend you stop by if you're in Escalante. We first came in October, 2021, when they were getting ready to close for the winter season. We were driving by and I saw the sign for it from the road and remember thinking, "Where is there a coffee house here?" You can't see the shop from the road and that's because it's built into part of a canyon that's hidden from drivers' view. Once you park, you step down into the café which has big windows so you can enjoy your order and appreciate the natural beauty of the area. There are various coffee drinks as well as tasty pastries to choose from. We shared a scone and cookie on our last visit and they were both fresh and delicious. This place is totally cool. Perched high on a cliff above the Escalante River, with a view to die for, they offer both inside and outside seating. Their sandwiches are delicious and filling, and their coffees are excellent. The location is a bit remote, off of Scenic Hwy 12, between Escalante and Boulder. We tried their vanilla raspberry scone which was amazing.The raspberry jam was layered into the scone, and every bite had a bit of jam.
