Has some beginner boxes, rails and ramps and a lot of advanced/bigger stuff too, so definitely fun for all levels of skateboarding! The 7' half pipe is also in great condition Would absolutely recommend this park!

Who knew this place even existed? My scooter kids recently went to, what they referred to as, the…read moreAbt skatepark and loved it. Okay, when did Abt add a skate park to their compound? This I had to see for myself. So, the other day I offered to take my kiddos there, and it's not at Abt, but rather hidden in the large Glenview Park District Community Park West right behind Abt. Kids refer to it as the Abt skatepark, because I believe it was sponsored by Abt at one point in time (I mean of course!). The park is a ramp-centric 15,000-square-foot facility designed for beginner and advanced level skaters. It has a bunch of smaller beginning ramps, quarter and half pipes, and a grind box/ledge and rail. There are no bowls. Note: It says no scooters allowed, but there were both scooter riders and skateboarders. The park is off the beaten path. It has benches for taking breaks, and there is also a covered area for those who want to enjoy some shade. On the day we went it was super duper hot, so we were there for only 30 minutes. Plenty of onsite parking.

Fast, compact park with flow bowls, vert, banks, hips, big spine, and 70s style snake run lines all…read morethroughout with lots of rounded/rollover edges (plenty of metal coping too, though). Had the park all to myself, and had crazy lines all throughout; with a crowd, it's probably a snake session. It's right by the MLK bridge, and down the street from Rise skateshop, with a big empty parking lot connected by a path. It's high-fenced in with a revolving mantrap gate to keep bikes out - and two dedicated police parking spots for surveillance right across the street. Maybe if it had been built in a more visible location they wouldn't have bothered, but that much sucks. Skateboarding is not a crime! Not a ton of street elements - a bar here, a box there, some banks, low hubbas. This is definitely a transition park, and one you could carve all around on a longboard. The concrete is rough; definitely pad up, because you're going to shed some skin here. Build quality is otherwise fine - just wish there were some pool coping / raw concrete edges to grind, it's slick metal coping everywhere that has an edge.

I must say I love this skatepark... however I'm not particularly fond of their no bikes or scooters…read morerule. This particular section of ordinance is archaic and was written in a time when skateboarders and bikers were not particularly friendly with each other, and before scooters. As a result individuals interested in BMX or scooters are unfairly denied access to an otherwise accommodating park. The park itself is large enough and built to withstand a proportionate amount of wear not just caused from skateboards but also by scooters and bikes. The park is made of concrete and metal, both durable and resistant to damage from skateboards, scooters, and bikes. It is large enough to accommodate bike and scooters without impeding skateboarders and themselves. In this day and age even skateboarders themselves frown on this unfortunate situation and are more than willing to share the park. The 'Feud' is over and it seems time to change this outdated ordinance. Help establish a new ordinance and repeal this archaic rule. Allow scooter and bike enthusiasts a chance to enjoy this amazing park as well.

If you are looking for a dog park with a lot of land, water available (minus the winter months),…read moreand fenced in, this dog park is highly recommended. An important note is that there are two parks here. There is a small dog park and the large one. The rest of this review is for the big dog park: There is a two tier fencing system, where you can open one gate, take your dog in, take the leash off, and then let them run into the park. There are also poop bags in this area, and it is expected that you pick up after your dog. It has two major parts, one being flat and where most people will hang out. There are benches for people to sit and hose water for the dogs. On the other side, there is a small hill with trees in which squirrels live, so some dogs like to chase them from tree to tree. There are also chairs throughout, so you don't have to be by people unless you want to. Due to the large size, it may take some time to get to your dog if you need to so keep that in mind and stay close to your dog if you are worried they could get into trouble. Overall, I highly recommend this dog park to anyone with energetic dogs that like to run!
