0 STARS IF I COULD. AS A POC/BLACK PERSON READ THIS REVIEW. DO NOT GIVE THIS BUSINESS YOUR MONEY, STORY BELOW: As someone that had been a shopper at Kiwi the past decade, I will never be back. I am also reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. They have a long history of racial profiling, shady business practices, and blatant lying when it comes to their policies. I came to purchase a few things. I showed the cashier 2 ponytails and verbatim asked her, "I cannot see the color of these ponytails in the packaging, I want to look at them in better lighting and see if it will be a fit. If the color on these ponytails end up not working can I return them?" She said yes, within 7 days and with a receipt. When I opened the ponytails I made sure to be mindful of the packaging, so I NEVER removed the tags nor did I try them on. After seeing them in better lighting, the ponytails were not a color match so I returned ONLY 2 days later. Upon returning, a red-head security, Stephen, asked if I had a return/exchange (note: he is having an inappropriate relationship with the dumb manager Cessy but I will get into that later). I said yes, he pointed me to a register. The cashier said I could not return my items. She then turned to the manager on duty who goes by the name of Cessy/Cesy and from there that is when the HORRIBLE experience started. She had a dismissive/rude demeanor. She took a ponytail out of the packaging, and accused me of having worn them. I told her I never did. She said, "Well it isn't packaged the same so we can't return it." I explained to her that an employee told me that I could and that otherwise I would not have purchased the items if they were non-returnable. She kept refusing all while having a nasty attitude, and suggested that I misunderstood what the cashier said. I told her I did not, and that based off the cashier's error that they should be able to make an exception and return the ponytails. It was clear she had predisposed negative biases because of my race as she was insinuating that I lied about the ponytails not being used. She then changed her tune and said that product that has been OPENED in general cannot be returned, I pulled out a bottle of gel that had NEVER been opened and said "Okay, if you want to keep moving the goal post on what can be returned and what can't, then return this gel. It's never been opened." She then grabs the gel opens it HERSELF and says "No we cannot return this it's been opened." It took everything in me to keep composure at this point as she was just completely out of line. The security guard then decided to play the "savior" and takeover as it is clear Cesy is a daft fool. It is also obvious that Stephen and Cesy are having romantic relations because when he interrupted me he touched her in a very intimate way and was trying to console her. Stephen began making up lies to just get me out of the store, all he offered was to give the business card of Kiwi and said to e-mail the address on it without explaining who would even be reading it. He then said that the store does not take returns, which makes NO sense as when I first walked in HE is the one that directed me where to go if I needed to return an item. I decided at that point that it was not worth the back and forth anymore as it was clear the two were just incompetent fools who wouldn't solve anything so I left. Mind you throughout all of this Cessy never apologized for the miscommunication and did not try and offer any consolidations for the mistake that her employee had made, instead she got a horrible attitude and made me out to be a criminal and a liar. The previous reviews will show you Kiwi already has a VAST history of many different problems when it comes to racial profiling, shady business tactics, and overall having dismissive and inept employees. I will make sure to blast you on all platforms. If you are BLACK to be specific and value putting money into the hands of businesses that respect you and will not treat you like a criminal I suggest you NEVER visit this disgusting store.

    Old relaxer
    Pamela P.

Sold me an old relaxer. I live far from this location and called to see if there was a way to have it noted that I was due a credit towards my next purchase or some other way. It would be an inconvenience to drive back to the other side of town. I was told I had to bring the relaxer back with my receipt in 7 days. I asked the manager was I expected to store a rotting perm until I was able to get back there and he told me I had to bring it back. I get here and the manager I spoke with is not apologetic, not showing a willingness to help, completely uncaring of my inconvenience. I will never shop here again! The associates are so sweet...but they sell Old products and have poor management.

    The try on

I recently moved to Arlington, and I was in need of a go to beauty supply. I found Kiwi because of its bright green building. I visited twice just for simple hair oils and braiding hair. The customer service wasn't too great but it was the only beauty supply I know. My bestfriend refused to go in with me one day because she mentioned how rude they were. I know they were dry, but I needed braiding hair that day. I came in yesterday 8/13/18 and tried on a wig. I loved it it was $19. The girl who helped me went to the back got the wig and brought it back so I could take it to the front and pay. The store is huge , and I'm sure they do this system for loss prevention. Once I got home and put he wig on I realized it was the wrong one. I was so disappointed but I had no time to take it back in before work. I repackaged it, put the paper back in the cap, sealed it back out it back in its original packaging and put the wig in my car. ( I know I should have made sure it was the right one , but I was moving too fast and trusted the one helping me would get the right package ) So on 8/14/18 I came back to Kiwi, with my receipt and asked for the manager. When she walked up , I greeted her. And explained the situation, I also had photos of the wig I tried on and agrees to wanting . Of course she took the wig out examined it. It was of course still new. Then she repacked it and said " no" and handed it to me.... then stated if it was worn once there would be nothing she could do about it. I did not wear it, I put it on when I left the store to realize I was given the wrong product and she was not tryna to hear that. I felt that was terrible customer service, I wasn't satisfied and I will not be returning to the store. A black woman's business is not really valued, every other nationality makes a profit off of us, but have no clue how to deal with us. They expect us to lie, steal and act a specific way in their business , but if the correct diversity training and love for their customers was applied with the same energy they feel from making money they wouldn't have their guards up so high. With that being said, are there any BLACK OWNED BEAUTY SUPPLY STORES IN ARLINGTON.

I first contacted Krystal about electrolysis last July after reading several good reviews. Her…read moreprices were far more reasonable than any I'd researched for removal of body hair (specifically my dark, thick chin hair -- I know, it's a strange/gross thing to confess online). Since I've been researching electrolysis for years, I had read all sorts of horror stories about scarring. I texted Krystal tons of questions, which she patiently and thoroughly answered. I was SO nervous when I arrived, and a bit embarrassed of my appearance too as I had to refrain from my usual plucking routine (removing 5-10 hairs three times a day) for approximately a week before seeing her. But Krystal was kind, efficient and thorough. She worked for an hour. I was nervous that I would scar or pit from the procedure, but I only experienced a little swelling and redness. Both were gone in a couple days. I've been going to Krystal for about 8 months now. I'm very pleased with the results. I'm even more pleased with all that I've learned from her -- including that new hair grows in four annual periods and in six weeks cycles. That explains why it takes consistent appointments to really make progress in seeing a difference. I've also learned that you shouldn't take Biotin when you're trying to get rid of facial hair (doh). I noticed the first big change after six months of appointments. Now I'm going about once a month for upkeep. One word of caution, as with any appointment, sometimes clients stack up. Since I typically make afternoon/evening appointments, I sometimes have to wait a little while. I will say -- Krystal's beautiful work improving my skin is well worth the wait. I would highly recommend Krystal's services to anyone seeking permanent hair removal as she is quick, thorough, and affordable.

Krystal is very efficient, professional and courteous. She takes time to listen to your concerns…read moreand is very quick to suggest solutions. I had been going here for electrolysis. The price for the area I am having done is a tad bit higher than other places but unless you want to drive to Dallas or Fort Worth then it's worth it. With the time and gas I save it comes out about even. I recommend her highly. She educated me a lot before I even started treatment and from my experience was pretty close to what she told me to expect. I even went to two other places for several treatments. They all 3 had the same results. Different personalities and different equipment but the same results. Pay her a visit. She is fair, honest and truly cares for her clients. She goes beyond what I expected. She helped me with a skin problem that 2 dermatologist couldn't fix. She knows her stuff. Now on a note for my never ending quest to find the most inexpensive and effective form of hair removal. I have had laser and electrolysis. Laser is much more expensive per visit but covers a much larger area per treatment. Look at about 8 to 10 treatments and never let them fool you that it is permanent. For the most part it is but laser works great for the corse dark hairs. The thin or light hairs will not be affected at all. Electrolysis is permanent but also takes more than one zap a hair too. They get finer each time and also has to be zapped during a certain stage of growth just like laser. And also I found that both can stimulate new hair growth. What this means in you risk growing hair in places that you didn't have hair before around the area that is being treated. I hope my review and knowledge helps someone. I found that laser equipment has much to do with the results but electrolysis didn't. So don't get sucked into paying for what you don't need. I recommend laser first to get most of it then electrolysis to finish it out if you want to be 100% hair free.

For me the first impression I get, even before I "yelp" or "google" is the phone etiquette I receive when I call the office. When I called Accent on you, Mellissa was so sweet! Her voice is so inviting and she has a warm phone presence. She was so sweet and tried to accommodate all my answers and invited me in for consultation. The office is beautiful. Very comfortable seating arrangements, pretty decor. I really like it. Subtle music and I got greeted IMMEDIATELY when I walked in. Parking is SUPER easy, you'll always have one outside the office. So I came to consult about a breast augmentation and the nurse who assessed me was soooooo helpful! She was nice and easy going and gave me great opinions, and guided me well through the office visit. Soon after I met with a nurse I met with Dr. N and he was really nice as well. He gave me straight answers, answered allllll my questions. He explained everything well. Asked me if I had any other questions etc. When you get to the FINANCIALS, these ladies don't do the run Around, ask them ANYTHING they will answer straight forward and honestly. They tell you options and everything. They don't push you, they are there to provide information. On the day of my surgery I was NERVOUS but the nurse I had that brought me to the room to put IV in me calmed me down. She was so knowledgeable and she reallly knew what she was doing. She was funny and really set the tone for me as I entered the operation room. The anesthesia doctor came and he was so SWEET! He said he prayed for me even if I didn't ask for it lol. He asked me questions and gave me a chance to ask my own questions. Then surgery came and it went, I woke up and feeling like exactly how they TOLD me I was gonna feeel. I wasn't uncomfortable, just felt like I had a crazy chest day ahah. They set you up for success after your surgery and recovery. I'm so happy with the service and so far, the recovery. I was in the store for about 15 minutes looking and waiting for someone to acknowledge me. I walked up to the counter to check out and the young girl, Marissa said "number?" I paused and nearly gasped out loud because she did not try to offer me an item to buy at the register. She wrung up my items then I stated I did not want two of them and wanted to go look for something else. As I was walking to look for a different toner, she had reached into the paper bag then threw the items on the floor behind her. I turned around to see if that really just happened and it did. The old lady, Judy, said to her "what does she need?" Then she asked me what I needed, to my reply I said "Now you want to acknowledge me after being in here for twenty minutes now to see what I need?" Her reply was "Well we said 'Hello!' Then proceeded to say "well you brought a dog in here".... Mind you, my SERVICE dog was on a leash and at my side, did not make a noise or mess with anything. There were no signs stating I could not bring her in with me and I have never had an employee at that location or any other location say a word about her. Floored, I asked who the manager was and if it was the lady who had walked in while I was looking and went to the back because she had ACTUALLY HELPED me yesterday. The old lady said "I am" and to my reply "well you both could use some customer service lessons from her because she was so nice and helpful when I was in here yesterday". The young girl Marissa laughed at my response and I said "is something funny?" She nodded yes to my surprise. At that point I was DONE with their deplorable behavior.
