In early 2024 I was under the care of Dr. Mark Pay for cataract care. He did an excellent job improving my vision and coming up with a perfect eyewear prescription. Great 'bedside' manner. On a final follow-up exam, he mentioned I might consider consulting with a dermatologist. He suspected I might have skin cancer. I immediately followed up and was able to get an appointment several months out. Apparently there are few dermatologists in Klamath Falls. When I was finally examined, the doctor expressed relief that I was referred, skin cancer was confirmed, and it was caught early. Is it any wonder I highly recommend Dr. Mark Fay? Had he have just pushed me through the appointment and moved on, I might have discovered the cancer at a much later date, which would not have been good! THANK YOU DR. FAY! read more

I went in for a normal vision checkup and they billed it as a Diabetic exam, despite the fact that I am not a diabetic. Therefore, insurance won't pay for the exam (deductible) and my vision plan won't because it was a "medical exam ." Even worse, they got the original prescription wrong and it had to be redone. I am having to pay a $374 bill for work that should have been covered. How can I trust a provider that can't even do the right kind of exam? PS. The doctors are very knowledgeable, and explain clearly what needs to be done to help patients see their absolute best.

They push patients in & out like a factory making widgets. The ophthalmologist was very impersonal & uncaring when he gave me my diagnosis. They billed my Medical insurance-not my vision insurance under 4 CPT codes to maximize their billing proceeds. I had to ask for my written prescription at the desk because the ophthalmologist did write one. I dont recommend KFC. read more

First time visit and we were early. Place is packed waited 1and 1/2 hours to see the doctor ...he shows up and says he's not the right doctor so after another 25 minutes in another room we left. Horrible service and wouldn't want them doing anything to my wife. read more

I am in town on vacation and in two days managed to break not one, but BOTH pairs of glasses I brought with me. I called for an appointment, and despite it being a busy Friday during the Covid19 Pandemic, the gal on the phone was able to squeeze me in. I went up immediately, and as soon as I went through the receptionist someone helped me. And boy did she help! She was able to find in their bin of "glasses parts" an arm for one pair of glasses, and another discontinued frame that fit my 2nd pair of glasses well enough to just replace the frames and let me walk out with them! So - on the spur of the moment, in a same-day appointment, I was in and out in 15 minutes, with 2 working pairs of glasses - one for regular, one for reading - and the price? Free! That's right! They didn't charge me a red cent, a buffalo nickel, or a thin dime. I could not be more delighted with the service... they literally saved my bacon, as I couldn't see anything when I walked in. I was on vacation while passing through Klamath Falls. My prescription eyeglasses broke. I came to Klamath Eye Center. With the outstanding help of Emily, I walked out of there with a new frame. Because the frames were some she had in the back, she didn't charge me. I am very thankful to Emily for taking the time with me and finding me a frame that worked with my lenses. I purchased a pair of glasses a few months ago. They are nice stylish glasses. I have two problems with Benson Eye Center. First, when I picked up my glasses and paid for them I asked how much I owed and I paid that amount. A couple of months later I receives bill for $10.00. I called and was told the amount I paid did not reflect the amount I owed. I told the person I specifically asked when I picked the glasses up if the amount paid was what I owed. I was told yes but here I was told I needed to pay the balance of $10.00! Second, the left lens has been falling out of these glasses and have about 6 times. I live 30 miles from the Eye Center so while in town this morning I thought I'd stop by and see if something could be done. I was greeted with "how may I help you" to which I answered the left lens keeps falling out. I was asked if I had an appointment. I said no and I was abruptly told optometry is not seeing anyone without an appointment. I asked really, for a lens falling out? I turned and walked out and the person yelled I can take care of you! Stay as far away from these crooks as you can. This is no way to run a business or treat customers. I gave a 1 star because zero was not an option! Bill Hollinger read more

Want to compliment Dr J. Faye. My mom had cataract surgery this morning. The office is very clean,staff very nice and Dr J Faye has great bedside manner. He very knowledgeable and explains his procedure and recovery process very well. My mom enjoyed the personal care and the little touches like a hot cup of coffee at the end of surgery. read more

I have had great care with the eye center. All the staff is friendly and kind. I have has some serious issue and was able to be in for treatment for emergency same day. Even when I needed surgery I was seen with in two days. (my choice) was offered the following day. All my questions and concerns are answered. I go here and my family does. I was having a double vision issue, and I visited the clinic to have the issue checked, I saw doctor scott stevens, he started telling me that I might have brain issues and need an MRI, and it might be my thyroid so I need a blood screening, and every time I asked for glasses, he was trying to convince me that it's not a "good solution" to my problem. I am a college student, and I heard one of the nurses telling him that I have a huge deductible, but he did not care and kept NOT giving me a prescription and also kept doing useless exams after I refused to do the MRI, scheduled another appointment for me to come and for him to suggest another exam, when I was persistent about the glasses prescription, they asked me 3 times if I was sure , and requested a final ( field of vision exam) which I still don't know what it was for, anyhow , I got a letter from my insurance today( through the school) that I owe $280 just for the first visit, still waiting for the next letter which would be about the same, if I have agreed on all the stuff he asked for, I would be thousand of dollars in debt now. I have my glasses now and guess what, my vision never been better. Avoid this place at any cost, as all what they care about is money. read more

I scheduled an appointment at least a month ahead of time for a new patient exam. The woman I spoke to was wonderful. I was asked to show up 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. I got to the office at 2:10 for my 2:30 appointment. At 3:05, a man asked if I would like to look at frames. I followed him to his desk and told him that I hadn't seen an eye doctor in 20 years, that I would like to have my exam before choosing frames, that I wasn't even sure I needed glasses. He replied "you wouldn't be here if you didn't think you needed glasses". He went to check how long it would be until I was seen. He told me that two rooms were open, that we were just waiting for a tech. I sat back down. 15 minutes later, I had still not been seen. I handed my paperwork to the receptionist and left over an hour after my appointment time and almost an hour and a half after I had been asked to be there. Unacceptable!!! No explanations! No apologies! I am an office manager and this is not how patients/clients/customers should be treated!!! read more

I have complete confidence in Dr. Fay's knowledge, competence, and skills as an eye surgeon as well as the knowledgeable and professional staff at the Klamath Eye Center. I have always been treated with courtesy and respect. With the last year, I had bilateral cataract surgery with terrific outcomes: no complications and good vision, using glasses in only limited instances. During the whole process, options, expectations and outcomes were clearly explained by Dr. Fay and I was allowed sufficient time to choose options for the surgery. Should I need ophthalmic surgery in the future, Dr. Fay would be my surgeon of choice. read more
