We were on the hunt for a one stop shop for decor for a small backyard party during Covid-19:…read morelights, furniture, rugs, pillows, etc. This turns out it's harder to find than I expected unless you go with the big time players like Kehoe that was a bit pricier than I wanted for this particular party. I loved the rustic look of the furniture Elegant had and their prices were better than most. While they didn't have any rugs or pillows to rent (sigh), their wine barrels were perfection to use as high boys and ended up getting a bunch of their low benches to put together as low tables (to use with floor seating). And they were also able to provide lights for my backyard. While every other vendor told me that postposting due to rain or Covid-19 wasn't an option (say whaaa?) I also liked that they were flexible. The main issue was that getting ahold of them was extremely difficult. If the Yelp reviews didn't give me faith that they'd show in time fo the bash I would have been extremely worried. It took a lot of stalking for both me and my party planner to get a contract, pay for the contract and a date to set everything up. There is an emergency # and found that we had better luck when we called the emergency #. They set everything up a few days in advance so I didn't worry too much about them being a no show. I let them know they needed to come at 7am to get it all done since I was headed out for a busy day and they showed up even a few minutes early. An hour later my yard was lit up beautifully and I was really happy with the look of the furniture for the price. They set it all up on a Thursday morning and said they would be back on Monday to pick it up (also prompt for pick up) so we got to enjoy a long weekend of beautiful lights. While the service leading up to the event wasn't the best, I'd probably still use them since it was smoothly the weekend of the event. However, I'd hope they would be more on top of their communication next time.

Not sure what is going on, but i ordered a touching remembrance of mom who passed away -- a pot of…read morered geraniums, her favourite flower -- to send to my sister for Mother's Day. The order was placed with a person identifying herself as "Indy" of Indy Joy Blooms. She made a few mistakes with details such as the floral card, but i texted back to correct her and she seemed to be pleasant enough in making the changes. Yesterday in the early evening, i discovered a new email stating the order had been cancelled. So i immediately replied to the email (and phoned and texted, as well), then waited for a reply. Nothing yesterday and nothing all day today, even though i sent another text asking what went wrong. Just no reply at all. Finally, i called again by phone just a few moments ago. The same voice introduced herself as "Indy", but when i said my name she promptly hung up. This is horrible business practice where rule number two is good communication. (Rule number one, of course, is that the customer is always right.) Why would an owner hang up on a polite, appreciative customer who already gave her money in January for a previous occasion? It doesn't matter if Indy doesn't like me or decided she wasn't raking in enough money on the transaction, even though she slipped in a $10 Mother's Day delivery fee. I agreed to the extra money though, in retrospect, it may be more related to the greedy sneekiness of an owner who overall poor business practices lead her to believe that it's okay to hang up on a customer in lieu of being direct and communicative with them regarding any problems that had been unforseen. I rarely ever give bad reviews, as a rule, because i prefer to work out any challenges directly with an owner or manager to give them a chance to make things right. That's the upstanding approach i take because i live my life with integrity. Sadly, one can't work together with a disgraceful business owner who hangs up on a customer. That signifies a cowardly person with no integrity. I will absolutely be reporting Indy Joy Blooms to the Better Business Bureau and other Chicago retailer entities for cancelling an incredibly important order without explanation. More importantly, i will tell thousands of my Chicago friends, as well as my tens of thousands of followers on social media, to never ever even THINK about using this unprofessional florist. She seemed like a nice person, at first. Now it's crystal clear that it was a front.

Not only did they work with our budget and give us an amazing rate for the service, they made a custom photo-strip graphic that matched our wedding invites to really put the icing on the cake. The booth was set up discreetly during dinner and opened just in time for drinks and dancing and we honestly couldn't imagine our wedding being such an amazingly fun success without it. They had great…read moreenergy which attracted my attention to their tent and the process of taking photos and printing out personalized strips was super easy and way fun! Great souvenir and they were able to print out multiple prints (if there are 4 in your party, they print out 4 copies so everyone gets one!) they supplied their own props but I can see how this would be perfect for any party or event, themed or otherwise! There is a timer displayed on the screen (4-sec-count) to get into ready position and you are able to take 4 photos (again, 4 sec in between each frame to change poses/props). Would definitely book for my next celebration!
