My procedure was postponed for a few hours because the laser machine required a software update. The staff were very apologetic about the delay and even provided us with a Starbucks gift card for the inconvenience, which was greatly appreciated. Although my procedure did not begin until after normal office hours, the doctors and staff never seemed rushed. They carefully explained everything beforehand and talked me through each step right before and during the procedure. When I became anxious, they were incredibly reassuring, patient, and attentive to my concerns rather than dismissing them. One thing that surprised me was how quick the actual LASIK procedure was. The laser portion took only about 90 seconds per eye. The longest part was waiting while the staff programmed and prepared the machine right before the procedure. From start to finish, the entire procedure lasted approximately 20-30 minutes. Throughout the process, both the technician and doctor were very gentle, reassuring, and happy to answer any questions I had during and after the procedure. At my post-operative appointment, the doctor and staff were welcoming and took the time to listen to all of my questions and concerns regarding the symptoms I was experiencing. My vision was blurry immediately after the procedure, but it improved more each day as expected. I would highly recommend Wang Vision Institute to anyone considering vision correction surgery. The entire process--from consultation to recovery--can sound intimidating, but my experience was smooth and positive. I would also like to recognize Gabby, the surgical coordinator, who was respectful, professional, and very helpful in answering all of my financial questions and concerns. I had my consultation and heard the price breakdown, then visited other companies to make sure I was getting the best services. I came back to Wang Vision, and I'm still very happy with my choice. Everyone is very knowledgeable about the procedures and helped me feel secure in my decision. There was a student/trainee that attended my consultation with Karen, and I was glad to hear that they take so many students for training at this location. (The student did a great job, too!) Cameron made sure that I felt supported and explained my available options in a very accessible way. Dr. Jones and his assistant performed the surgery in a separate room, and the procedure itself was very fast (like 20 minutes under the laser). Admittedly I sat under the machine for a bit longer because they had to wait for my eyes to numb, so the entire consultation session (redone during day of surgery) and actual surgery took about 3 hours. Then, you go back the next day for a follow up to make sure everything looks ok. I have overall felt supported and informed in my decision to go with Wang Vision Institute. LASIK surgery is a big decision, and I'm very happy with my decision. Plus, they have a really cool lobby.

I received a second opinion at Vanderbilt Eye Institute after indicating during both of my post operative exams that I had no vision improvement following surgery and a haziness in the operative eye which was not resolving - both doctors I saw (not my original surgeon who was unavailable) told me they could see nothing unusual, and that I should just postpone my second eye a week. I will not have my second eye surgery - my vision is not bad enough to warrant surgery and I'm very upset that Loden Vision seems to push surgery rather than looking at the best needs of patients. Use caution and be fully aware of your condition before undergoing any surgery!!!

It has computerized check in which is fast, but you are still almost sure to have to wait, so bring something to entertain you. At least until they dilate your eyes and you suddenly can only see blurs in front of you. Which segues to my only complaint. I was unaware of the fact that the dilating had this effect, and I was not warned, which caused me to freak out a bit when it did happen. They do have a nice big TV on the wall, which I was able to see, but it was tuned to sports which I have no interest in. Still moving pictures are better than nothing! Dr. Felch was very friendly and never made me feel foolish about any of the questions I had.

My mother had cataract in 1964 and lost vision in her eye as a result of that surgery so I had some anxiety even though I know there has been so much improvement in cataract since then. The VA noticed I had a slight rupture in my eye but told me they would check it again in 6 months. It didn't make it 2 weeks. From the moment we walked in I felt comfortable that this is the place. After going through all the checks I was able to see Dr. Marshall. She explained everything well and I felt comfortable going forward with the treatment. I got a shot in the eye to start with and few weeks later she lasered the back of my eye to stop all the leaks. We have been back for my check ups and everything is looking good. If you have any eye issues go talk to them.
